Saw the car in real life, one of the loudest on the grid with that distinct popping sound on the downshifts

For the entire season it was reported that str honda hadn't any issue. Glad to hear that. Not only the reliability is getting much better but also with the performance.

Time will tell, I see the same technology that Mclaren was using in the Toro Rosso. If Mclaren continues with bad reliability then we will know it was Mclaren that was the problem... and of course the other way around. The big difference is Red Bull backs Toro Rosso, and you have two of the brightest minds in F1, Adrian Newey and Christian Horner. So its not easy to tell right away. I do know that the Honda Engine is a replica in design to the Mercedes Engine, which is why Honda had so much trouble. Not too mention that the Mercedes engine for many years secretly used a different combustion method, which is why they were so immensely dominant over everyone until the end of 2016 when Ferrari adopted the strategy.

Your absolutely right however, what none of us truly know are the facts about the situation? Did he provoke the team to leave Honda too early? Hopefully not.

Alonso should have kept it within the team. Whining in public shows immaturity. He was like a spoiled brat who just wants his thing. It's not that Honda haven't been trying. "Success is 90% failure" - words by Soichiro Honda. Whining would not change that fact.

Chris D Alright m8, it's been a while since the season started, what do you think of the reliability?

Honda and their anti-lag in the corners, make me wonder if they have a dual purpose engine for rally and f1. I like that they use it, because the Naturally aspirated F1 sound is no more. Rally Cars always sounded viscous with the anti-lag popping to keep the turbo spooled at low revs. But of course we are in the hybrid era, where the rest of the cars make better use of things like the MGU-H

Chris D Not Anti-lag bro, the engine cuts off pistons under braking which results in that sound.

It may not be the best engine performance wise but it certainly sounds incredible.

Can anybody please explain to me what is that bubbling sound during the deceleration of the engine is ? What technique is this ? I'm dying to get my car sound like that lol
