5:10 Beautiful. There’s nothing I love more than the sound of an f1 car when it’s driving on a long straight away from you and it’s shifting through its gears, to then end with the rapid downshifts for the upcoming corner. There’s just something about that distant cry from the engine that I love the most. And of course the visual aspect of the car disappearing over the hill was the icing on the cake. I’m happy you captured a car going from the start to the end of the straight at least once :)

I don't know how you can call yourself a petrolhead when you don appreciate how good this engines sound and the whistle of the turbo when acceleration and braking happen is just on point.

L.P. Rrurris yeah mate nothing compares to the sound of a V10, V12 and V8 even the flat engines like the RSR or the Old school quattro's but you do have to appreciate this v6 and its technologies that are amazing but you have to admit that turbo whistle and the hybrid system sounds damn good.

I can remember being at Silverstone in 1996 - first time at an F1 race. You didn't hear it on TV, but I loved the massive " crack" every gear change. I had ear plugs in, and I was STILL stone deaf for 4 hours afterwards. Never forget it!

They can't touch the sound of a 3.0 liter V10 to but they aren't silent vacuum cleaners now I enjoy your work keep doing what you doing bozzy

f1 testing is one of my most anticipated parts of the year. just to see you how the new engines will sound for this season. so far all have been good improvements from last year especially the renault although i think ferrari stole its waste gate exhaust lol. really thankful to have the GOAT car youtuber to bring me these sounds!

Indeed mate, luckily not huge problems in terms of engine reliability for anyone. Such a shame for the unusual cold temperatures and snow since it stopped a bit track action even during the first two days

There is a vast difference between this and the crap the FOM pump out on their broadcasts. Seems home listening is of a higher fidelity in terms of output quality than the inputs captured at the track. The old saying "you put crap in you get crap out" springs to mind

I think the cars from 2014-present look and sound very futuristic

Yes sure. All these sessions are lap timed. Search for something like "F1 2018 testing lap times" plus "Day 1" or "Day 2" in order to see the actual times from each day ;)

havent watched f1 in a long time, but @5:17 , is that driver activated aero or completely active relative to speed?

Any word on what visibility is like in the cockpit with that piece of halo sitting right in front of them? They could have made the helmets three times larger in order to provide more protection to the drivers -- plus, it would have been a lot funnier to look at than those crazy halos.

The cars look the best from the back in my opinion...

Thanks again Bozzy. Maybe you should give some sound recording advice to the broadcasters, as you seem to get more dramatic sound on your videos.

toro rosso sound is very impressive

Yes they don't sound as good as a v12 but the way they accelerate out of a corner with the huge instant torque shove makes up for it. I wasn't on board with this engine initially but over the past few years especially with proper aero and tires it has grown on me immensely. For sheer thrill I'd take a drive in a 2018 f1 car over any previous era, historical significance is something entirely different and would be a much harder choice.

Goddamn I hope that Honda does well with Toro Rosso. Just because McLaren made it seem like it was all Honda's fault the last years. Sure a lot of it was but McLaren didnt really seem interested in helping to make the situation better. Go Toro Rosso! Go Honda!

Wish Red Bull used their new camouflage blue livery all throughout the season and not just as a special edition for certain races. Engine sound is louder but the noise isn't as sweet as V10/V12 era., but hey as long as it is more competitive with a lot of great passing skills and very good driver and team tactics.

The Mercedes engine sounds incredible on the downshifts are deceleration. The Ferrari engine is sounding pretty nice as well. Red Bull have done something to the Reno engine because all the other cars with the Reno power unit sound good but nothing like the red bull
