Same opinion, the cars doesn't sound too bad at all with these unfiltered audience recordings and not all those filtering at the official broadcast .

Ferrari seem to have very active wastegate, more than ever before.

At 4:56 the overtake with the downshifts sounds amazing

Downshifts at at 2:55 😭🤩 but @19bozzy92 you are so great at filming these cars. You should contact @f1 about becoming in charge of the highlights or just videos in general. Your great! Ill continue to support your channel !!

MPX7129ER Lol the correct term is "farting" The car is expelling it's excess air through its waste gate. The car is farting.

a waste gate regulates turbo boost pressure so the engine don't load up and burst. The gate lets off the extra turbo pressure and you can hear it burping, belching and farting.

Hi mate! Thank you so much for the kind comment. Well, first of all thank you so much for letting me know finally a date for a DTM test, since a few months ago I was struggling to discover one (the pre-season test in Vallelunga, here in Italy, are private and "top secret"). I was already planning to be at a DTM race this year, for the reason you said, but I discovered there would be an Italian round at the end of August in Misano! So I'm something like 99,9% sure to be there ;D Cheers!

honda sounds different from others at low rpm. it has more growl noise at low rpm.

Dušan Pešić be careful saying that around f1 fanboys the truth will hurt their feelings, can’t change much about the sound when they’re all working around so many restrictions and requirements.

The Mercedes engine has that same type of guttural growl off throttle that the Honda engine makes. It’s more noticeable on the Mercedes AMG factory cars than on say Force India or Williams

So they don’t sound like vaccum cleaners at all. They’re decently loud but not as loud as the V8’s but still, this is pure music.

Everyone is saying that Honda were never a problem, but they have had lots of time to improve? Also it doesn't matter if toro rosso are faster in straights, all mclaren are hoping for this year is engine reliability.

Elian Iorio Farrell if they wanted reliability Renault was wrong decision. Honda was forced to use McLaren design, now they have free reign to do their own design.

you have your opinion, I have mine, no need to get personal. I thnk these cars sound bad, similar to a vacuum cleaner. If you don't, well then good for you. I suggest you listen to an old V12 or a turbo from the 80's to hear the difference.

fetuso fetuso I hear the difference. The old ones are better in terms of noise indeed but the new engines definetly do not sound like vacuum cleaners. 2014 and 2015 were horrible, I must admit The noise began to become somewhat enjoyable since 2016 and I'm fine with it.

Hopefully the redbull senior team will adopt Honda

About McLaren and TR/Honda..Just different engine Mods 🤫

Didn't know that too. But since in another video a guy asked me why that Force India had a green light I did a fast seach and on the official F1 website I found this: "(During testing) cars being driven by drivers who do not possess a Super Licence must be fitted with a green rear light which must be illuminated at all times the car is on the track" Article 10.8c of the 2018 FIA Sporting Regulations

This is just testing, they are trying several things out, like selectively disabling cylinders, passive traction control and such. They covered the most laps in the first week of testing... don't think that they had issues.

Nah, news came in yesterday that it was a power failire for toro rosso in the morning, but they went back out in the afternoon. Just a power failure, their engine seems a lot better then last years

F*k me it is like Formula 1 took steroids. Those cornering speeds and wastegate noises are insane. I hope 2020 regs don't ruin this. The ugly vacuum cleaners of 2014 seem a long time ago now.

Nice video! Corner speeds are nice, however the ugly Halo and the awful sound make it the worst F1 ever.

Throw the turbo and up the engine capacity these engines sound like gp2 and anyother race cars but not f1. Or simply bring back the v8 10 and 12s.

TWO But they're all using 2018-spec engines. Technically, they all have the opportunity and need to find a good chassis. Mercedes has not had the best chassis and they win not only for the power (of course, a fundamental factor) but because of reliability.

F1 has always had dominant cars/drivers/teams in certain eras. A few years ago Red Bull with Seb was unstoppable. It’s been Merc recently but they were underdogs before Lewis joined. Would be good to see a team start pushing the top 3, but part of F1 is development.
