    Saying that oral finasteride is safe is misleading because it really is just a gamble, either you're lucky enough to not get serious problems like erectile dysfunction, fatty liver, depression or etc. or you're unlucky and you get some if not all of them. In any case finasteride can be a blessing but it just so happens that the line after which it becomes a curse is pretty small. ANY systemic exposure to finasteride for a MAN who loves being a man and wants to remain being a man is unnecessary. Quote from Rob English review on the topic - "stick to 1-2 mL of 0.005% to 0.02% topical finasteride solutions. This equates to roughly 0.1-0.2mg of daily finasteride exposure to the scalp. Any more than that, and there’s risk of significant systemic leakage, which defeats the purpose of using topical finasteride altogether."

    Topical finasteride literally turned my hair around in 30 days. I literally sprouted a bunch of hair on my temples by day 4. Call me a liar,,,call me a crazy person…..I really don’t care. For me, the stuff worked IMMEDIATELY. Am I hyper responding? Maybe? But all I know is this stuff did the job for me. 2 months in and I am amazed. i use 0.3% topical finasteride 6% topical minoxidil….I spray one shot on each temple,,,one mid scalp, one spray on the crown……0 side effects.

    Topical Finasteride is great indeed hair growth is awesome. I’ve used it for the past 3 years. Using 1ml per day. No significant sexual side effects but after all this time I developed NASH (Liver Disease) and when tested AST and ALT were over the top. My diet was not that worse, it felt very strange that I had such high levels of AST and ALT. I one day stumbled on a recent research that inferred suppression of DHT has been linked to NAFLD and NASH. I thought that maybe Finasteride is causing so I’ve stopped using it from past couple of months and after I got myself tested again, there has been a significant reduction in my AST and ALT levels. You should check that research out. Author is Abdul Maged Traish. Your response would be highly appreciated.

    In 2011, reports of finasteride-related depression and suicidality led to an FDA post-marketing reportopens in a new tab or window. Depression was added to the adverse reactions section of the drug's labelopens in a new tab or window, which already listed several sexual dysfunction-related adverse events, including erectile dysfunction and libido, ejaculation, and orgasm disorders. Now new research has linked finasteride with a significant reporting odds ratio (ROR) for suicidality, depression, and anxiety, particularly in those younger than 45 and those with alopecia, as opposed to older men with BPH. Quoc-Dien Trinh, MD, of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and colleagues found that among 3,282 treated patients, there were 2,926 reports of psychological adverse events -- defined as cases of depression and anxiety -- associated with use of finasteride. As the team noted in the study online in JAMA Dermatologyopens in a new tab or window, this equated to a more than four times higher risk of experiencing depression and anxiety while using finasteride (ROR 4.33, 95% CI 4.17-4.49).

    I have been using XYON 2.5% topical finasteride with 3% minoxidil gel daily for the past 1.5 months. After the first 2 weeks I noticed some sides such as loss of sex interest and more importantly loss of morning erection (which I used to have daily before starting the topical gel). To exclude the psychological effect, I kept using the gel daily hoping things would change if it was only in my head. Unfortunately, It’s still the same sides. My concern is that this 2.5 % is super high dose (=25 mg finasteride on scalp). So even if very little absorbed, say 5% of the 25 mg, it means 1.25 mg goes systemic which is like an oral dose). Any insight or feedback ?!

    You should first and foremost consult a dermatologist to find out whether or not you have androgenic alopecia(male pattern baldness) get your bloodwork done to find out whether or not you lack any vitamines such as B12, D3 or Omega3. If it's MPB they are probably going to tell you that you are a bit too young for Finasteride or a hair transplant, and you should instead use Minoxidil 50mg/ml once in the morning and once in the evening. You can also buy a dermaroller which makes minoxidil absorb better into the scalp, just be careful not to dermaroll right before applying minoxidil as you will absorb too much. Instead if you have a 1.0mm/1.5mm dermaroll do it once per week/fortnightly and 1 hour or so before minoxidil. Also if you have a cat don't let them near minoxidil, even residue on a pillow case can be deadly to them.

    Way too strong - you only need about 1/10 of that. Remember, other than saving/regrowing hair, the whole point of using topical finasteride is to reduce side effects (otherwise, you may as well just take the pill). According to the study cited, the optimal concentration to achieve both hair regrowth and reduced side effects is about 0.025%. There were stronger concentrations that were a 'little' more effective at reducing scalp DHT, but they resulted in much higher systemic absorption (which would presumably result in a much greater chance of side effects).

    @@ugglanvu Yes, if you use a 1ml application size, then 0.025% would = 0.25 mg. of finasteride per 1 ml (a 0.25% solution would = 2.5 mg finasteride per 1 ml ---> way too strong; I mention this so you don't confuse the two). The goal is is save/regrow your hair while MINIMIZING the side effects (otherwise, you may as well take the pill orally). The last Caserini Study suggests that this happens with a DAILY topical dose of 0.025% or 0.25 mg of finasteride. Assuming you are mixing/dissolving your finasteride with minoxidil (60 ml bottle) and applying 1 ml of solution to your scalp ONCE per day, you would dissolve 15 mg of finasteride into your minoxidil solution (60 ml/1ml) x 0.25 mg=15). If for example it takes 2 ml of solution to cover your scalp, then you would mix 7.5 mg of finasteride per 60 ml of minoxidil (60 ml/2 ml) x 0.25 mg = 7.5) . • @mikecronin6265
    @mikecronin6265 Жыл бұрын

    If you are making your own topical finasteride, be careful with the dose used in the carrier. I have seen several posts from guys making there own version, but are using way too much crushed finasteride. So if you want to make 0.02% in a 60 mg bottle of minoxdil, the amount of fin' to make into powder would only be 1.2 (I would just use 1.5) milligrams of finasteride. Some people are using 15 mgs of fin' to place in the minoxidil. That would actually be 0.20% rather than the desired 0.02% dose. The mathematical equation is the amount to be used multiplied by the fin percentage. So one would multiply 60 (if using 1 ml drop full per dose) times 0.02, which comes out to the 1.2 mgs of finasteride. Just something to consider, and my advice is not intended to cure any medical issues, and is purely for entertainment purposes. Also, I am not a doctor.
