I think it’s important for folks to understand what they are buying and planting. That may be a good mix, but it’s not something I’d plant or sell.

Thanks John. Looking forward to the next videos where you talk about how to plant, care for, and maintain a clover plot. In the past I have planted only buckwheat and then your fall seed mixes in a small 1/8-1/4 acre food plot, but it just seams to be to shady in that small of an area to get it to grow well. I am able to get buckwheat to grow there, but it is very small is size compared to the large 1 acre plot I have on a different area property. I am thinking clover would be best in this small plot?

Seclusion may work well If it can get 2/3 day sun. Soil quality will also be a big factor

I have property in north central Iowa and planted RC big rock switchgrass three years ago in two different locations. Sprayed one location with roundup in early May, thinking I was safe! Guess which one germinated? I had to replant the sprayed section. Lesson learned!

Man that sucks….. It’s such a gamble to spray round up once the seed hit the ground. It’s just bad advice. Very unfortunate.

That clover / chicory blend with no coated seed looks great. 👌. Twice as much seed as antler king or whitetail institute. Also Glad no vetch or alfalfa in it. Seems like farmers grow alfalfa with red clover not white clovers.

John, just received my shipment of seed and a few questions come to mind. With the warm weather right now, my plots are pretty much snow free. Is it too early to frost seed? Also, do you see any harm in running the seed over with my Packermaxx.

I like a lawn roller. There is very little contact with some of those big groove cultipackers. Look at all the space between the ribs. Lawn roller is 100% contact. But in a frost seeding situation, you don’t need to use anything. I’m still waiting until March here.

Love your products. Just placed another order. I have pretty Sandy soil and I cleared a 1/4 acre of trees in the woods to create a kill plot. After a couple years of Lime and fertilizers the entire left half of the plot is still very sparse (planted your clover chicory blend) and the other half comes in thick. Thinking of using your chicory blend (just ordered) to try to frost seed and fill in the left side. What are your thoughts? The plot gets even, and good light. The woods are mature, mostly hardwood high canopy.

I'm taking over 6 acres of open farm land with heavy clay soil. Should I start with red clover and chicory for a couple seasons? I want to frost seed due to not owning big ag equipment. I'm in central Michigan

Red would be a great start. You can add chicory as well. Get a soil test done and get it close. We will have liquid products soon that can help.

If you think you are going to get another dose of cold weather you can wait yet. This weather is crazy warm for most places this time of year (northern states) but I am sure we are not done with the cold yet.
