The Aprilia came in at 6900 (vs your estimated 8200) It also has slightly better power:weight than the Ninja 500 se (6400) So you were wrong on both counts there. Is the quickshifter and suspension worth 500? It's a pretty compelling argument.

I will say.. I have a 450ss and it is by far the best beginner bike on market from factory.. I daily it and have put just over 3.5k on it already. I freaking love dawging this bike to the 12,000 rpms. Handles amazing as well. I have ridden a Ninja 400 and it just felt like i was sitting on a bike and not really riding it compared to the sportier ergonomics on the 450ss.
Really excited for those new triumphs and the 450nk. Might still go with the t100 or the Enfield interceptor though but I'm going to play with all of them
Speed 400 is really enticing. I've sat on the speed 900 and love it. Can't decide which one to go with. I'd rather not have to upgrade a few seasons down the road, so I'm thinking of going with the 900 from the start.

I don't know how I feel about recommending more Maintenance Heavy European and Chinese Motos for Beginners. Not all but most Beginner Riders are usually younger and usually don't really have a lot of finances set aside for Proper Maintenance with Parts and Labor and usually more times than not, these Beginner Riders aren't exactly fully mechanically inclined to properly maintain these Motos themselves and regarding the Chinese Brands, the main issue here in USA is not a lot of Dealership Network to access for Proper Maintenance and usually Chinese Bikes while affordable, they break down a lot more often compared to other brands. Assuming these are recommendations that are intended to be kept for a long time, I would recommend Beginner Riders stay away from the Chinese and the European brands due to either their high amounts of wrenching needed as seen with Chinese brands or higher costs for Parts and Labor as commonly seen with the more complex built European brands. Beginner Riders will be a lot better off with a machine that 99% of the time they can just swing their leg over and hit the starter and it ALWAYS just works and gives them very little worry of ever being stranded.
Got my ninja 400 today! Couldn't be more happy!

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see mention of the 2024 CFMOTO 450 CL-C. I understand it will be a cruiser designed to complete with the Honda Rebel 500 and the Kawasaki Eliminator 450, although it will be somewhat lower horsepower (and likely lower price) than either.
Zontes just launched a 350cc 4 -bike range (GK350,350X, 350R and 350V) and they all look awesome.....
So I was riding a 400 and crashed at 100mph after a week cuz someone cut me off I broke my leg and arm but I think it’s time for an upgrade to a zx6r
On European Kawasaki websites the eliminator is stated to have 45hp and 43 Nm (which translates to about 32 ft-lb)
The Chinese made Harleys are being released in Japan this October. Strongly suspect that we'll see a, rest of the world release by the middle of next year.

I have a 2022 Vulcan 900 Classic. Too big for a beginner. I dumped it once and destroyed my foot in the process. I still have the bike and I do ride it still but it buzzes way too much on the freeway. If it had a 6th gear it would be a lot better. I love the bike but I'll be selling this one and getting one that's a bit more nimble and a bit better on the freeway.
I am deciding whether to start on Scrambler 400x or zx4r, really love both machines. But soft spot for zx4r though. (Triumph Speed 400 prices are released here and it's $2800 here, it will definitely cost more there since it's made here in our country) However, the Zx4r costs $10200 here (The Zx4RR isn't available, only the Zx4R with black paint and no shock adjustability)

I think CFMoto's move of ever so slightly out-doing Kawasaki and the rest on horsepower might come back to bite them. The reason is in Europe there are multiple motorbike licenses, where A is the full-on "you can ride any bike" license and A2 is more restricted. With an A2 license, you can ride bikes with a maximum of 35kw (48hp) and a weight of at least 5x their power in kW (aka 35kw -> 175kg minimum). This is why so many bikes in the 400~500cc class make exactly 48hp or slightly below. Unless the regulation changes, riders with an A2 license won't be able to ride these CF Moto bikes until they upgrade to a full A license, and why would they go through the effort to do that for a measly 2 extra hp? Once they've got an A license, why not get something like an MT-07 instead?

@@raptorjesus5488 dawg we also cruise at 120kph in my country. My bike is able to pull 110kph with no problem. Still doesn’t justify starting on a 400cc sports bike. While I partially agree with you, 40-50HP bikes are still tame to a beginner with proper training. Let's face it, Europe being that restrictive is more to do with politics than it is to do with actual safety on bikes. I wanted an eliminator as a first bike but its way too small for a 6'4 guy. Just starting off with a Vulcan
O fawk. Svartpilen isnt making the cut anymore?
So which is the best one from this list
How fast would someone outgrow one of these though - I rode dirt bikes when I was younger but not for many many years

(Also want a sport bike)
the 450NK does not have Brembo's ... its way cheaper than the 450 ss
Aprilia rs 457 claiming $6,799 msrp that would be big

i Liked the Eliminator 450 & Aprilia RS 457 & CF Moto 450SS & 2024 KTM 390 Duke & CB500X
I was about to buy a Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled or a Triumph Scrambler 1200 xe as a first street bike. But that Scrambler 400x might just be the perfect jump towards bikes like that in the future. Looking forward to getting to sit on one and test drive it. For reference, I am 30 years old, with a ton of atv experience and moderate dirt bike experience. I'm also 6'5" with the outrageous inseam of 37", so there aren't a ton of beginner bikes out there for me unless I wanted an ugly adventure bike 🤮. TL;DR I'm super excited for the Triumph Scrambler 400x as a good looking and fit for a taller riders beginner bike.
I refuse to believe the CFMoto 450ss isnt as good as the ninja 400. The 400 is a top dog but the 450ss is an equal match to it (maybe even slightly better).
