I was wondering if it was me as well. I've been riding almost 50 years starting on RD250, then race prepped RD350 that wheelied the 1st 3 gears on the pipe, then road raced an FZ600 in the 80's. My last triple digit HP bike was Buell XB12 SCG. I rode some dirt bikes as in my teens but, never owned one and last year I bought an XR150 just because it was cheap and looked fun. So far I haven't been wrong as it is more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow at my age, lol.

Good on ya! I grew up when all you needed was a learner's permit to ride solo(the full license was required to ride with someone). I picked up a ton of bad habits that I learned about years later taking the MSF course.

I'm on the downhill to 60, riding for decades so when the orthopedist told me I needed a hip replacement I put the near half ton HDs to rest. I picked up the 430lb CFMOTO 700 CL-X and have put 17,000 miles in less than 10 months of riding time. Less than $7k for a 74hp, adjustable suspension, 6 speed, slipper clutch, dual ABS, full LEDs, cruise control AND self cancelling turn signals isn't being budget conscious, it's called having fun. If I don't get killed on it, my body will wear out before the Kawasaki engine does so I'm not worried about resale value. Keep up the great work

i had a 125cc at 16 and this weekend i'm going full ADV dad junior. i don't plan on sitting in coffee shops. i'll actually be riding.
When I was a new rider, 54 years ago in England, we were all 16 and clueless, riding a selection of worn out, mostly British, small capacity (less than 250cc) bikes. No rider training in those days, you just made your mistakes as a learner, survived if you were lucky, then took your test and were allowed to ride anything. The system here has changed since then. New riders have to start on a 125cc and work their way through a series of tests, over several years, before getting an unlimited licence. No doubt safer, but it puts a lot of people off. At nearly 70, I'm still riding, but none of the other lads I knew back then are.
He forgot about the 155lb 20 yro whose convinced he can start on a 1000 because it’s from 2001 and he’s gifted at everything he touches🙇🏽♂️😂

I'm glad I managed to make this list
I'm a midlife crisis female rider. I got my motorcycle from my uncle, It's a rusty Simson S51(Old east-German moped) that I'm going to restore with a bigger engine. I'm a little tired of my current life and need something fresh, and I'm going to learn everything about my motorcycle from scratch. It's so much fun to see how everything is build up and what you have to take in consideration to restore an old bike.
Yammie Noob at his best! Spitting in our faces and shitting on our chests.
Early 40's beginner rider here that inherited his dad's 2016 ultra glide... It's been an interesting start. Rode a buddies ZX10R the other day and fell in love. That's the next horse in the stable. Gotta live up to the stereotype haha.
Cant wait to see which one i am once i get my bike next week
the first one is legitimately hilarious and spot on. another yammie banger
Them mini bikes are kinda slept on.....teaches you a ton about balance and most of it transfers to the big bike without having to worry about looping out and dodging a 600 lb bike. You gotta earn spreaders when youve got a whopping 3.5 hp and cant power it up
Man you really hit all the nails on the head with the description of these "New Riders"🤣🤣🤣🤣the EV BIKE Guy! 🤣🤣 & the Minibike Guy! Priceless!
EV GUY here! that is my fun bike that i dont need to worry about, and i take many race courses on "normal" race bikes. also i take out some motorcycles to try out from some dealerships so give us some respect cause we do you and other bikers as well. proud owner of an EVA RS.
I think the beginner 600 squid is a dying breed simply because there aren't many 600's left. They are turning into the 7/800 squid.
I work with a beginner 600 squid. It's his 2nd year with an old Katana that he already crashed twice, and he wants something faster because his bike overheats when he's wide open for too long
2024 600 hundred squid starter here. Just got yesterday a Yamaha R6 2007. When i tried to brake for the first time time I stoped so hard that my balls got kicked by the bike, at first it hurt but after I couldn't help but laugh at myself. Didn't drop her not a single time though and I'm having lots of fun, getting a bike that you like (always dreamed of owning an 2006-2007 R6, they are kind of rare here in Brazil) is something that definetely changes your life, every time I wake up in the morning and see my R6 in the garage it brings me immense joy. Just go easy on the clutch and don't try to do any stupid stuff to impress people around you nor try to pretend be a MotoGP superstar and I think it is fine.
First bike 2022 MT09, great purchase.
There's a #8 too. "ADV Dad Sr." This guy may have had one or two sub 100 cc dirt bikes in the 70s and then may have had a street bike or two later on. Kids are grown. Recently mortgage free and then went out and bought a brand new optioned out GS1250 and all the matching BMW riding gear. Tried moto camping, but didn't get that far. Dumped the bike, dislocated his shoulder and broke his ankle. Bike currently up for sale.

Dawg, my first street bike was a Ninja 636, and that thing was perfect for me. I HAD been riding dirtbikes for 5 years prior, and it did require some adjustment for the controls compared to a dirtbike, especially breaking, but it was the literal best bike I could have started on.

I guess I'm a mix of the mid-life crisis and Chinese bike rider. You actually included a picture of my clx700 sport. I'm an evening, after work, and weekend rider. I just ride to relax, decompress, and enjoy life.
Should have had an honorable mention: The Chicken Strip Heckler. Those squids that heckle other riders because "they don't use the whole tire", even though they live in a place like Arizona where there are more rain storms than curvy roads. Also, I ride a '22 Super Cub, call me the Midlife Crisis Minibike Squid. I just wanted something for fun, I don't live in an area that has tracks to race on or long winding roads to cruise.
@michaelmurdock4607
Ай бұрын
To be fair, we have many, many curvy roads in Arizona. They are just out of the way, on the sides of mountains, often with a bit of rock fall, and looking out over valleys and washes filled with vehicles that didn’t make the turn because the terrain is too rough to haul them out. Edit: ...and the paving hasn't been refreshed since the Eisenhower administration. Very important detail, that....
My first bike was an 06 GSX-R 750 , road her for 10 years laid it down once on a slow 35 mph turn. Bought it for $4,500 in 09 an sold it for $3,750. I feel I did pretty good for buying it at 19 , Im still here.
ppl thought i was dumb to get a gsxr 750 as my squid bike. i told them i wanted something i could respect and grow on bc 250 was a toy to me (i was popin whelelies and stoppies on the moto class course), 1000 was too much (was a beginner and i knew my place), and i knew i would get bored of a 600 fast. so after i got eally comfortable i was out ripppin it with the best of them and i had just enough engine to mod out my bike and give an amature on a liter bike a run for his money in the curves. she wasnt much but she gave what i need her to give and i love and miss her dearly and remember her fondly
I still think about the OG riders you will meet videos
I'm a Yammie Noob and Fortnine consumer, and this year I bought my gear!
I was a 600 squid: in the very first corner in the Autobahn top speed passing a Semi counter steering and foot peg scraping the tarmac. I need a 1 000 cc... GSX F 600, no deletes, full driving gear.
I just started riding on the 11th of April 2024 never ridden before (literally my first day msf course). I ordered a Ducati Hypermotard 950sp (1st bike) loved motorcycling so much I already am planning on ordering the superleggera v4...🎉😅🎉

Speed... well, surviving warp speed lol going to keep the hypermotard and upgrade it over time as well...
I got the GSX8R because there is no reasonbly priced well balanced sub 80/90hp full fairing bike. If I wanted a naked it was going to be a Z900 or a CFMoto NK800. My 8R is comfy for every day use. Its sporty enough for aome fun. Lots of features, very solid on road feel. If anyone is wondering I get around 51mpg on the 8R for daily use. 3.7gal tank tops me out around 180miles of range.
I like seeing the local Grom gang out riding. I’ve even seen a turbo Grom and a few times a Grom rider all by themselves.
You missed the Millennial new rider, who, after college, kids and career is just getting into motorcycles. These folks are usually budget conscious cruiser guys, starting on Honda Shadows and Yamaha Vstars. They ride mostly to work, but dream of someday taking that long cross-country tour, if they can ever pry themselves away from their responsibilities.
I've been here when i bought my R3 +- 8 years ago and you got one too that time. That's how i found you. I drive an MV now
this one is a good one bro, funny,
😂 the mini bike part had me crying 😭😂😂😂😂😂😂
And still no mention of a Suzuki V-Strom, come on yammie, see the light
Just got my Himalayan, and except for the hipster coffee place, I 100% agree haha!!!
some people have been starting on e-bikes to avoid the stress and fear of learning to shift while moving quickly or at a red light about to start and then stalling, and the cfmoto 450ss has been growing popularity for beginners. one example is motochrispy he started on a cfmoto a month ago his first video blew up and got 150k views in 2 weeks. it has had a recall, but thats a good thing it means their actually fixing issues with the bikes. unless its too many recalls then stay away from it
female rider is so real. i grew up on bikes but still took learning on the road seriously, started on a small bike, and mostly rode with my dad the first 6 months. been licensed for a year now and i hope to keep improving! i'll think about getting a big bike once i can master the 400. my dad says if you can't have fun on a 400 you're not a good enough rider and/or you're riding the wrong roads. 🤷♀️
He's actually pretty good at this 😅
The mini bike part had me rolling
I wasn't sure I was gonna make the list! (Mini-bike squid)

600’s aren’t bad to start on IF you are for sure gonna be on the bike as much as possible. You’ll gain the experience and you’ll have a way greater respect for what the bike is capable of.

Im a beginner. Never ridden. I want my first bike to be a classic bobber. I dont need/want to go fast on a bike (I have a mustang for that) . I like the freedom and interaction it seems to give with the open road. A bobber seems so chill and laid back. Im not trying to speed for 30 minutes and have to go home because my back is hurting, but touring bikes are not my style and dont fit my personality.
I’m 17 just bought my first bike ever first time ever riding a motorcycle besides a dirtbike. And it’s 2012 r6 and I love it
I'm about to become an ADV dad with my CB125R when I plan my next camping trip.
