The specs on the Norton/Norden. Are they accurate? 🤙🏾
Super excited for the Honda CB650R with the e-clutch system. 2 things that were holding me back from getting one were the LCD screen and no auto blip downshifting. Thank you Honda! 😊
The one I'm most excited about is Triumph 400 love it❤

This.
Note: we messed up the specs for the Norton at the end. It's 185hp peak, 204kg kerb, and 830mm for the seat height.

I don't think it will matter, for too long. Imho.
I'm glad the baby Triumph is a single and not a soulless twin as first rumoured a year back.
@superleggenda

A single cylinder engines costs significantly less than a twin, and is easier (and less expensive) to manufacture and maintain. A 400cc twin would definitely cost more. What bothers me of the 400cc Triumphs and KTMs is that although they are designed to be repaired by an underqualified Indian mechanic with some gum, a hammer and a length of wire, maintenance costs in Europe will be on par with other more expensive bikes of the same brands.
I feel that the CFMoto 450NK was worthy of mention in this list for the lower end contenders. Of those shown the Ducati Monster catches the eye but is a lot of dosh. The little Triumph looks pretty well sorted and potentially great value. The E clutch Honda 650 will get my attention due to damage in the left hand that sometimes gets painful with lot of clutch pulls.

I don't think that CF Motos are sold in the UK for the moment. I'm watching the 450 NK with interest. First it's a 270 degree set up for the engine with a nice noice and it doesn't have these ugly headers that the Kawa has.

@@vondenballs same in the Netherlands. local dealers are showing "pre order" on their websites now so it must be arriving soon. i'm not pre ordering something like that but will definitely have a look when it's here. looks great. the black one is my favorite.
Number one thing is a round headlight or close to it, no beaky geeky front end, who started that!
It’s amazing you’re providing us with Dubbed audio tracks… and with your own voice!! so cool!!
Kawasaki needs to update their hyper naked bikes like Z900 and Z H2 👍

Good morning MotoBob. Thanks for the reply. I've dabbled with making limited content films on my own KZread channel so feel your pain re: correcting posted content 'after the event' so to speak. I've nothing but admiration for the speed in which you manage to collate your filmed footage and then edit it all so quickly before posting online. I imagine you must have a team of people working with you? Anywho's , looking forward to the next uploads. I really enjoy the content, especially as a recently disabled middle aged bloke probably unlikely to ride a motorbike again but your content keeps the 'riding flame' alive. Godbless... @@motobob
In my opinion ans also according to my experience riding and own multiple bikes , the weight isn't much of a concern but where the weight/ center of gravity of the bike is plays a huge role to how we as a rider feel while being on the bike. Don't let the number put off. It's only matters when you drop the bike and ultimately have to pick it up.
Those tank scoop vent started by Yamaha Fazer line and into V-max were the rage in 80’ and 90’s. That Honda add-on doesn’t quite look as good as the MT-09 design, but Norton certainly used it beautifully. 👍
I've already pre-ordered a Triumph Speed 400. But I'm in Brisbane Australia so just waiting on a landing date. I've been told it could be December 2023 or maybe January 2024. Just a beautiful looking little bike that could knock the spots off the 350 Royal Enfield range. Twice the power, water cooled, and a baby Bonneville at that. Bring it on! 🥰

Year after year, im still glad i got my 2020 Kawasaki Z900. Nothing on this list peaks my interest or needs other than the hybrid Kawasaki, and that would be an addition and not a replacement.
The best update hyper naked bike in my opinion is the KTM 1390 super duke r & evo ❤❤❤ love you
I was VERY interested in the 400's from Triumph.. but then I found out that despite the increase of power from my Cb300r from 30 to 43, they will still have insanely close gearing... so other than out past 100kmh, I don't think most people would really notice the power difference... which is why I'm looking at larger 650's like Versys or 500's like NX500 because from the looks of it, it's not actually that much faster than the cb I already have.
@lordgibbness

Also your cb300 is about 30kg lighter!
@treessmusic
5 ай бұрын
What do you mean when u say the close gearing effects power?
@adam346
5 ай бұрын
@@treessmusic it affects your ability to use power and not how much power you have. If you have twice the power on one bike vs the other but the gearing is exactly the same you will end up shifting twice as much or just using less power on the higher hp one so you don't end up shifting all the time which means shifting pass 2nd into 3rd and using low-down power which generally stresses the engine more.. higher rpm or mid-range rpm are better for it but if you are not a fan of shifting all the time you will end up lugging the engine rather than shifting down or making it scream vs shifting up... so there needs to be a balance between power and the need for shifting and I think the cb300r has a decent one... adding more power just means more shifting and I don't typically use all the power of the cb unless I am doing twisties/highway riding.

You should be operating both bikes at higher revs. The 400 is fine if you don’t up-shift until 6k+. Your 300 red-line is at 10.5k.

WTF, the German KI-track sounds actually great, Grüße aus Deuschland!
Svartpilen definitely should be on the list
MT-09 wins for the overall package of performance, reliability, tech, and price. The SP is gorgeous! Can’t wait until they’re available.
I just have to say this but the dude on the KTM commercial riding the 1390 is absolutely insane skills.
That monster is beautiful
I have a 2023 xsr 900 and can confirm that the cp3 is a great engine. I rarely get on my other bikes these days.
That V-twin 1390 sounds disgustingly amazing
Picked Speed 400 as my second bike.. Super happy with this cute little baby !
No MV on the list? The Brutale 1000rr Assen would be the most beautiful hands down😍
I love the way you refer to ugly as "modern". Maybe "aesthetically challenged" would be more accurate.
I have to say... I actually really love this new head light from KTM, Its a shame that they are not my style of bike, as i would defiantly get one just for the head light set up... great talking point in the car park imo. I have my eye on the SMT 890....

So I actually saw this and freaked out when you were done explaining the Triumph 400. I saw this I think yesterday, and checked out my Triumph dealer and saw they had announced it as well but didn’t see it’s only arriving next year. Long story short they put me on a 900 and I’m almost in the process of selling my kidney and half my liver whilst trading my current bike in to get it. I’ve never ridden anything so smooth, so quick and so much fun. Why people say parallel twins aren’t very fast I can’t understand. They put me on an older 1200 and it nearly left me behind when I snatched the throttle. You’ve converted me to Triumph, mate😂
BOY I thought I've seen enough but the last one is definitely the FINAL BOSS🥵
The ai translation is surprisingly good
The 400 Triumph looks great
cool video as usual thx! however : the V4CR should have 185bhp...but at 12:51 is written 39.5.....am I right?
I like the updated MT09 SP, agree that the improvements to ergos and styling make it an enticing choice. Im still not sure if i want a bike with as much electronics? When is the European/ UK release? For Australia it's not until July.

If the mt09 looked like that a couple years ago, i might've bought one instead of the z900.
That 50k bike better make me coffee every morning too
While watching this: Triumph 400 looks good. I stick to Japanese and generally Honda. The Honda CB650R appeals to me but I prefer the 2023 model. I don't like the new design style of the new 2024 CB650R, ugly side air intake covers, preferred the old front light and the rear light. Display screen is the only improvement to me. The e-clutch doesn't appeal to me and sticks out of the side of the engine. The ultimate for naked bikes is the Kawasaki Z900RS that doesn't appear to have been revised for 2024.
Unless we’re buying a used bike or there’s a manufacturer’s demo ride parade in town, it’s almost impossible to know what we’re buying until after it’s bought. Are these diminishing opportunities to test ride the bikes we’re interested in buying unique to my area, or is it generally true?
@isaac_bear
5 ай бұрын
Motorcycle dealers are unique in this regard. I wanted to test ride a bike years ago, and was told it can’t be started until it was purchased. How goofy is that? I would never buy a car without firing it up and taking it for a spin, why should a motorcycle be any different?
@RandomShart
5 ай бұрын
More brand related in my experience. No problem getting demo rides at BMW, Triumph, Ducati etc, a little trickier at Suzuki / Kawasaki / Yamaha, and almost impossible (for me) to get a demo at Honda. There's reason BMW sell so many bikes, the dealer network, you could turn up with a 1-day old license wanting to buy a bike and they'll be happy to give you a demo ride.
The 2024 so versions of the mt09 have brembo calipers now too. Also the ability to disable rear abs
I like that the modern designs are coming through, we need something new, some think special and unique
Whats funny is the headlight on the 500 looks actually better than the one from the 750. I hope there will be an aftermarket headlight soon.
I bought an mt09 sp a month before the new one was unveiled. Was gutted at the time but wouldn’t buy the new one because of the more sporty riding position. The older one is like a big supermoto so quite unique.

Foot pegs are adjustable on the new model. That combined with some bar risers could probably get you the position desired
Triumph charging a lot of money for s 400cc single is cheekier than the top end bikes charging a fortune (because you're getting a ton more quality - if you can afford it)
When you consider what the new bikes are offering for the prices they're asking, then suddenly a good used bike looks rather tempting.
@superleggenda

People are ahead of the curve in Italy, and even used prices are rising. You used to be able to get demo units with a 10 to 15% discount. Now it’s a few hundred euros at best. And previous owners are always VERY optimistic when setting asking prices.
The Norton is my pick. Although, if I was buying a Norton, I would go for the classic twin.
Great video! Hybrids? E-clutches? Hmmmm. The MT09 is *finally* becoming good looking enough that people like me might even consider buying one, (after how many years?) A mostly ugly lot. The Ducati should've looked like that from the outset. The bike that excited me most? The Speed 400. I think Triumph just came up with the replacement to the Yamaha SR400.
Personally i like the Norton, the aesthetics are nice on that bike!
The nice thing with Yamaha is if you don’t like the modern lines of the MT07 & MT09 you can just pay a bit more for the XSR version.
The two last bikes are the only ones on this list worth any attention
What I would like to see is that Mandello expanding “winglets” used in a bigger floating side panel (CF Moto) more and a fully adjustable windshield (BMW). 👍

I like the Triumph but if it’s close in Price to RE’s Interceptor I’d go for that instead. For more contemporary looking naked bikes Suzuki’s GSX 8S is a good option.
I would pick the Yamaha MT09 SP

The hybrid 7 is going to be around £9500. What do you get 12k from? It was leaked at $9999 in the US.Also guy on Honda stand at eicma said EClutch is +£500 on each bike

I have to say I actually like the KTM front end now? mot sure I'd be able to spalsh that amount on the SD though.
CFMoto 800nk, wish I could link a pic of mine here. Love it so far
Hi Motobob, if you are settling down with one motorcycle for life, which one would it be?
40k for 39hp is crazy
IDK but I actually like this headlight design on a KTM better that previous one. 🤷♂️ Reminds me of Predator and I liked those films when I was young. 😂 Anyway, still riding my older Monster! 💪🏼
From 3:50 the cb500 Hornet is basically a re-modelled cb500 with _some_ new parts thrown at it eh. I own the '22 cb500x and while I am mostly happy with what I am forced by law to content myself, a restricted power output (LAMS or A2), the bike represents okay value, and the bike runs cheaply, and reliably... But that effink tiny LED headlight is almost pointless. High beam is a spot of light about the size of a beach ball, and it's not very bright. There's also some weak fringe luminance but you cannot rely on that useless level of illumination alone to show the path of road ahead at night: bends, switchbacks, hairpins, tightening curves and so on. Answer (a) I whipped on a STEDI st1k single row slim LED bar about 13 inches wide, turns out its just right even looks anaemic, and fitted the Honda factory option foglights. Which meant the adventure bars as well. It plus Givi box added another 20% to the ride away cost of the stock bike onto my new bike purchase. It will never look pretty with the GIVI top box. The light bar's polarised wave is not as polarised as claimed, methinks. TBH if you do not aim its elevation, there is a lot of reflected glare from road signs, which will defeat the aim of turning eyeball night into sunlit day all along the beam height. With brightly reflected light bounced from road signs shining back human eyes are quickly dazzled, and you won't pick out the features of road landscape relevant to their aided vision. Aim that LED light bar so it maxxes out on road surface somewhere 400m - 800m out yonder (has amazing reach). This thing has amazing output and can be left on all night, if required, its current draw is miniscule and will not drop your battery recharging rate especially with use of relay fused harness supplied. Only had to solder an illuminated lightswitch mounted at the handlebar. With rider patronage, these guys will make the case for development of beam polarization so vehicle lighting won't impact the bounce of light reflected back from roadside signage. This polarized beam is an actual thing, and STEDI are competitive: they are continually putting new lights onto the market. That's my 2cp thnx for reading me through. cheap sexy single row slim LED lightbar format suits for bikes: www.stedi.com.au/st1k-13-5-inch-e-mark-led-light-bar.html
I think the new hornet front end look doesn't give that appeal that we want in a bike. We want something that looks mean and manly not like a little insect that can be squashed lol

Does anyone out there want a sporty bike with comfortable ergos that has wind/rain protection? I wish they would make more "half-faired" motorcycles. Dont get me wrong. I LOVE my Street Triple. I just wish it had a front fairing like the Daytona, but with a touring windscreen. Im thinking modern bikes similar to, for example, the FZ6. That's the only one that comes to mind (although it is far from my dream bike). Please share your thoughts!

You missed including the F900R on the list
Re-badging and graphics is all I see here in my opinion. Triumph 400/single boring. Should have made it a parallel twin. Honda 500/ Kawi 450. Both should have switched over to 270 degree cranks.
