Two years ago I found a Marlin Camp 45 acp in a pawn shop for $400. I took it home and began a long clean up and improvement process. Since then I have seen only one other. And the pawn shop wanted $1200. Couldn't afford it, but now I know how valuable mine is. I coated all the metal with a very durable matte black paint, installed a Ramline folding stock, 21 lb. spring and a new buffer. And it shoots as great as it looks. I hunt with it, inside 60 yards, using Buffalo Bore, Grizzly, and Underwood plus P and Super loads. I have other guns that are great for longer ranges, but now I always take my Marlin with me.

I checked out a Hi Point last week. The mag release is on the left side of the pistol grip itself. Not forward of the grip, in it. My left trigger finger was all over the button. Lefty's will be dropping the mag all the time, unintentionally. The mags are proprietary. That means you can't use any other brand's mags. For these two reasons, I'm going to pass on it. Otherwise a pretty good rifle for the money.

Seriously. A bunch of movie clips for the Thompsons, showing full auto no less. Clips of other people's actual reviews with no attribution. No useful information about any of the guns that I couldn't tell by looking at them or a cursory glance at a spec sheet. Oh, they *all* have accuracy that's "on point" you say? Great.

You left out the VMAC with 30 round grease gun mags, compact size, and super reliability it is hard to beat. I don't like their plastic mag button but the price can't be beat. Ingram was right.

I would counter there are no best 45 acp carbines/PCC's, they all lack in range and power when compared to 9mm or 10mm. The 45 is a 75yd gun, any farther and the softball trajectory will become a factor. The 9 and 10 with their better ballistics will push that out to 125yds.

@@erikschall620 +P closes the gap some but at the cost and for what these firearms are used for, it's really a non factor when it comes to PCC's for probably 99.9% of those shooting them (few if any are going to spend $1.25+ a rd out of a PCC). Plus there's the added issue of the vast difference between the ballistics of std and +P 45 acp that you don't see in either the 9mm or 10mm that makes training with 45 +P pretty much an all or nothing proposition.

Hi, how do I put a stock on this, I am being told it is illegal to put a stock on this because it is a handgun.

  • @piperp9535

Not entirely true, by now you may have learned more on this, but I'll explain it for you anyway. If you have a pistol, and want to put a stock on it, this is restricted, meaning you have to submit a form to the BATF and get approval, and pay for a Tax Stamp, and when that is all approved and completed, you can put your stock on your pistol. This process take a couple of months, and there are additional rules you have to follow because your pistol will now become a short barreled rifle under the Law, it will be classified as a Class 3 Weapon, and some States may not let you do it. Additionally, there is a legal battle going on right now about pistol braces, these as very similar to stocks, the ATF has passed a new rule to reclassify most of them as SBRs (Short Barreled Rifles), and while it looks like the ATF is going to lose this fight, I don't think it's completely over yet. That being said, there are many people who use pistol braces on their PCCs and AR Pistols, they are very popular, and it would seem most people are betting the ATF is going to loose this one, and we'll be able to keep our braces.
