The ability to copy and paste your coordinates is a great way to share your location with someone who does not have onX. I always send mine to my wife and dad before I climb any tree for safety reasons.

I never thought of that but great tip, I will do this from now on
Greg mentioned the following, “we could make a whole video on that”, (Ted and Jake’s October double buck day), referring to the distinct sounds made depending on shot placement. (Lung, liver, gut, etc arrow impact sound). This would be awesome to me. Even if its a short or a brief coaching moment video. Btw, a search on KZread doesn’t bring up a single video on this subject. Love the content, and it’s appreciated. Thanks.
I literally comment on this situation like 3 days ago I'm glad you guys made a video explaining the wind indicator to us dummies, took me forever to figure out that the highlighted green is the direction you want to shoot and you help explained that really well thank you Ted.
Zach thank you for the lesson on thermals. That was one of the best videos I have ever seen on the subject.

Agreed, Zach explained it in such a simple way.
Great information there, I'll be hunting a new property of mine in Missouri this season, definitely will try this out. Love what ya'll are doing 😊
Very good info, this will help several hunters out
You guys getting me pumped with the videos dropping right before the season.
Great content guys! Especially the explanation of the thermals!!!! 🤙👍
Great video. I use onx alot and didn't know most of that.
Excellent video fellas, definitely liked the wind tutorial!
Hey guys thanks for the tips definitely going to come in handy !!
Great points learned a bunch about Onx thanks guys
Great video Guys. Keep up the good work.
Incredible lesson on thermals. Thank you.
Great tips guys. Thanks so much
wow thanks guys this one was excellent!
yo, great visuals and lesson on thermals!!
Great app, have it a few years now, at 58 years old, barely know how to use 90% of it, but it's still invaluable.

Thanks for sharing this - yall need to give a quick run down of deer tour 23, when you're starting, where, etc. Always look forward to seeing that one.
Very informative. Thanks.
Road hunting/hunters, the bane of the hunting community. Gut good for you.
Awesome video! I really wish we had the option to select a Fall/ Winter Base map. It would make it so much easier to see edges and changes in types of timber say pine and cedars. I appreciate you guys going in depth with this! Good luck this Deer tour !!

There is actually a leaf-off imagery option now, you can toggle it where you select your basemap. The leaf-off imagery isn't available everywhere but it seems like its available in most places, or at least in most of the places that I've looked.
Thanks for the video!
I could watch videos like this all day long
Very nice job guys! I would like to see a video of you following your on x track in the morning darkness
Great tips!!
Can’t wait for deer season it’s so close
Another good thing about the tracker when scouting is it will show you how much time you wasted walking around and you get back to the truck and think wow that will saved me a lot of time if I hunt that spot. Elk videos coming soon hopefully? ✌🏻👍🇺🇸
How do you guys deal with the outdated imagery? I've talked with support many times and have been repeatedly told that images are average 4-5 years old. A LOT can and has changed in my hunting areas in that amount of time. One property I hunt has been sold three different times and OnX still shows the original owners name. I find it hard to use when I'm not sure the info I'm receiving is even close to being accurate?
Man thanks a lot for explaining thermal good educated video
Awwww yeah it’s THP time!
hopes this helps me get that texas 11 point, like yours, this year. thanks guys!!
The content is great, I need to find a good gps hand held that's not my phone, reception sucks in a lot of places.
Love the video
Wow I had no idea all this existed, the fact that it can locate oak trees is mind boggling
appreciate it yall!
Great vid. Thanks for the tips. In your experience, how does water affect thermals? I remember hearing Dan infalt say that water often draws thermals toward it
@ethanmccurley2735

In the evening when the sun is going down and the air is cooling, the water retains heat causing the air above it to rise which creates a pulling effect
I have to play that again, thermals kind of play with my head, but, that information is good stuff. I mean I'm fine until the wind starts blow 13:46 ing. Then again I'm slicing, dicing and cooking dinner. Probably missing something and/or reading too much into it, anyways. Thank you😊
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! How do I get you guys to come hunt with me in Okanogan County, Eastern Washington State??!
Just to let you guys are the greatest I’m 69 and been hunting since I was 12 you guys hunt like I used too nice to now deer hunting is in good hands

60 and up age group you guys were hard core hunter's. I'm 51 and was fortunate enough to rabbit and pheasant hunt with grandfather.
Hey guys big fan. I currently use hunt stand. My main concern is that I’m a public land hunter and let’s say there is a state or county piece I’m interested in when you click on it it does not say if it’s hunt able or not. If you use onx does it say like hunting “yes” or “no”? Just curious for some info because if it does I will buy it. Thank you guys
Can you do a full video more detailed about thermals please
Whata great video!!!
Trying out new swamp public land. Any help would be helpful. Already have some water around. So might be tough.
We’re you able to harvest the meat, or did you gut it simply to see what vitals you clipped? I prolly wouldn’t have eaten it especially since it was stinkin, but I don’t really know what’s salvageable in these situations if anything is
Absolutely sold on THP!…..but I hope Onyx is paying you a bunch!

As an old goat tredging about, my entire deer career, hate to see you all showing folks how to be as lazy as possible
Are you using the premium or elite version of OnX Hunt? If you are using Elite, which of these features discussed in the video would I lose out on it I signed up for Premium?
I love how Zack’s firstexample buck “backed that thang up” right to him! Lmbo

I wouldn't say they're laughing but maybe a little astonished in how GPS has changed lots of things in life. I dont think they were any different than we are, moving with technology as it evolves.
My tracker has been weird, it only shows me how the crow flies after I save it. It doesn't show me where exactly I walked? Any idea why that is?
Please do more videos like this...

Take all the tips I can get
I wish onx would update the maps. I'm in northeast Wisconsin and the maps from onx is out of date by 5-6 years. Hard to us a map that shows timber in an area and when you show up the timber was clear cut 5 years ago. I'm getting very disappointed with onx.

@@tommyboy0379 checked it. App is up to date. The app does notify me when there is an update and I do it immediately. I have even tried to uninstall it and then reinstall it. Still the same out of date maps. I think I'm going to try the other guy next season. I pay money to Onx for up to date maps and they can't deliver.
Grey side of the wind indicator is the direction your gonna shoot your welcome onx did your job for you.
Y’all must be a mind reader for the last couple weeks I’ve been tryna do more research on mapping out my hunting spots specifically on public
Stranglehold Outdoors 🇺🇸
We should be able to use OnX Hunt in landscape mode on iPad!!! I’m tired of having to take my iPad out of the magic keyboard. It is too darn slippery and I also have to do the typing with my fingers and can’t use the trackpad. People aren’t taking their iPad out in the field. We use our phones out there. Please - landscape mode for iPad.
Can you use cotton balls to check wind???
@wyattgardner3552
11 ай бұрын
I'd suggest not to use shredded cotton balls. I'd bet processed cotton has scent for deer to notice. Plastic from package? Grease/oil from picker/gin factory? If you're hunting near a road or houses might be okay, or if you live down south and pick it from field?
I didn't realize have of these features were there holy shit
Habitat layers don't really work here in New Hampshire unfortunately
@Alexander.McDonald

Same in the Adirondacks
The bad part about smaller parcels are the bucks will move around the ridge and bed with the wind hitting them. They sneak around the back or over the top coming into oaks. Mountain bucks are unique
Dang road hunters
Can’t wait for deer season!! Pin if you can’t wait either!!!

With all the time you spend in the wood. Have you ever seen Bigfoot?
I cant even get acorn production to pop up on layers my property is covered in acorns
the acorn producing oak layer is useless in my experience.
Gotta learn this app Had it for over a year and can't even enter a new spot. Must learn how to use this to get my money's worth. Sad, I know.
I really hope Zach isn’t living off of Colfax? If so, he needs a raise, lol. #keepzachsafe
Spartan forge is way better for how i like and do things
Not sure how much you guys check your comments. If you need to fill your freezer look into Maryland Region A Bag limits, reasonable out of state tag price and Sika Deer
Gents, I finished my entry/exit with same terrain. Creek and ditch bottoms. Had to clear major takeover of the woody Honeysuckle.
Boys if that's the actual house of one of our boys blur it now or take it down. Stay safe fellas.
Anyone else a little pissed that THP let Matt Rinella dictate how they do their videos now? No mentioning of states anymore. Saying you hunted in South Dakota Greg doesn’t give a specific location. Btw, South Dakota isn’t considered “Midwest”.
Are any of yall allergic to poison ivy?
Aint no creek here just cricks
I think you have to buy the full ellite version to get it in Canada which sucks. But hey, no one in Canada hunts so whatever. Screw onx.
No offense but all of our hunting fore fathers are laughing at all of us.
