In this video we will delve into the stories of famous Ancient Greek women in order to discover their work and achievements. The five women I chose for the video are the following: Aspasia of Miletus, Sappho of Lesbos, Telesilla of Argos, Artemisia I of Caria and Hydna of Scione. The fifth one on this list (Hydna) was contested by many others such as Agnodice of Athens, Gorgo of Sparta, Lysimache of Athens etc. but I ultimately chose her.
Note: This is a list of the most famous women in Ancient Greece during the Archaic and Classical period, not the Hellenestic and Roman period of Ancient Greece. Hence, the absense of women like Cleopatra, Olympias and Hypatia from the list.
