This video is about the life and work of Hesiod. The famous epic poet who is mostly known from his work: 'Theogony', where he narrates the birth of the cosmos and the gods. Hesiod, although less known today than Homer, played a crucial role in Greek mythology and religion. In this video we will cover all four of his poems as well as what we know about his personal life.

I do not know if Hesiod was real or not, but he definetely self-inserted in those poems. Classic.

Wait I'm a bit confused. What is Hesiod's father's name? Are they both named Hesiod?

As far as I know, his father's name is uknown, since Hesiod doesn't mention it in his poems. Hesiod's father had two sons, Hesiod and Perseus.
