People need to start saying this White played every single minute that both Bielsa and Arteta can get him, two of the most hard driving managers in football, the idea that he's either unprofessional, not passionate or unmotivated is patent bollox. Southgate is a clown.

I don’t think Gordon can get in. Foden, saka, Kane, Palmer, Watkins, Bowen, I think southgate would take rashford also.

Benny blanco loves playing football. He just doesnt like watching it or care that much about it if hes not playing.

Curtis Jones is the Tom Cleverly of Liverpool. An ok player in a world class team. Theres nothing special about him, he can do a job if the 1st choice is injured or unavialble but i dont think hes up to the level the others in his age group

You said he's played better than them "this season". Whether that is true or isn't. How would that be relevant to previous seasons when he already felt entitled to be the starter? He didn't break up with England this season, it happened 18 months ago. No one is buying this narrative that it was disrespectful not to start Ben White at the World Cup when he had never even played for a top 4 side at that point in his career. What I will say is Mainoo has been thrown in the deep end time and time again at United and he’s performed. He lacks experience but he should definitely go and could even grow into the team. Enzo only had half a season of European football and won the world cup…

Would he help the squad in some capacity? Sure. Does he have loads of potential? Yes. Therefore he should go. Simple as that.

Whenever England have failed in a tournament recently (vs Croatia and France in the WC and Italy in the Euros) the problem wasn't how we defended - but that we failed to keep the ball late on in the game and dictate the rhythm of the game. We essentially let players like Modric, Jorginho and Griezman take the initiative from us. We obsess about having players on the bench who can come on and produce a piece of magic when we're behind, when it might be more sensible to have players like Mainoo and Jones who can retain the ball and keep things ticking over. I'd put them ahead of someone like Gordon or Rashford who I don't think are as effective when - for instance - we're a goal down and the opposition are putting 11 men behind the ball.

Palmer and Mainoo should definitely be in the squad maybe even start

As a mufc supporter not from England I don't want Mainoo to play in Euro's but tell me who will play as 6 if Rice gets injury?

I'm not English but I don't think there's another country, perhaps with the exception of France, who have a better forward line than Kane, Watkins, Bellingham, Foden, Saka, Palmer, Maddison, Rashford, Bowen, Grealish, Eze and Gordon. That is absolutely stacked! The weakest three you could perhaps choose from that is Grealish, Bowen and Watkins and yet that would still get the job done against most teams.

I agree with Turkish at the end where he said “Cole Palmer is the best player on this list, but the biggest opportunity for a game changing impact from the bench would be Anthony Gordon”. If he was to come off the bench in a big game, and played to his best, down Englands left wing…. I think he would 100% swing a game in England’s favour and set up or score a goal. Cole Palmer is honestly THAT GOOD, that in a different formation, under an attacking minded manager, he’d be starting in the number 10 role for England. It’s scary to imagine Bellingham, Palmer and Foden interchanging with one another and the magic they would create.

Turkish is delusional on many things, however, he is spot on about England's strength being midfield/attack. Imagine Argentina playing a 6/4 system and leaving messi/Alvarez etc on the bench for Romero or Martinez. Rory is usual numpty. We need to handicap ourselves, by playing another below par player, to protect a defence that wont keep a clean sheet against France/Germany/Spain etc anyway.

Question is what do you lack or what do you need more of? Goal scoring or attacking... Palmer. If you want control no other player in the EPL gives much more ball retention than Jones. Mainoo is an amazing talent and will probably go on to become an exceptional footballer. However, this comes too soon for him I think. There is a different level of pressure that come playing with the best in the land Vs playing with this season's United. For his own development, I think its better for him to be in the squad but not get exposed in high stakes. From the other players, I would take Gordon over Rashford.

I'm a Liverpool fan and Trent can't play at RB he will cost us against the good sides. He has to be on the bench for me and if he comes on will have to be in midfield but Rice, Bellingham and Foden start in midfield for me Saka on the right side of attack and Palmer on the left side as I think he is better than anyone else we have got to play on the left of attack unless You put Foden there and put Palmer in midfield. I would play Gomez at CB next to Stones rather than Maguire, Gomez seems to be back to his best this season. Walker at RB and Shaw at left back.

Personally would choose Colwill/Branthwaite over Maguire but just won't happen so pointless choosing them. Rashford realistically shouldn't be in either but theres nobody else

Gomez deserves to fox been class for Liverpool as a LB, CB, and RB this season. If he stays healthy (which has always been his issue) he 100% deserves to go and even start depending on the formation. 3 CBs in the back I 100% put him at LCB.

Sterling is a passenger defensively. His best years were part of a loaded Pep side that could make up for his lack of physicality. Southgate will not organise England as well as Pep so kill the thought. Anthony Gordon deserves the call up, he's a great compliment to Saka on the other side, works hard without the ball, and is in top shape. Rashford's been on the booze this season, he's a step behind and a liability.

Curtis Jones keeps the ball. Ball retention is important at big tournaments against world class teams. He has been a regular in midfield against some of the best players and teams. Maino is good, but he is not a better fit than Jones.

@@mr-ov5gt Ok you got me, I forgot about Andorra, Malta and North Macedonia. He doesn't play there for Liverpool. Even Kalvin Phillips gets more minutes in midfield than Trent.

@TP-pq9xx just because he doesn't play there for liverpool doesn't mean he can't play there infact with Bradley coming in liverpool it's highly likely trent will go into his preferred position as a midfielder he has all the attributes of a midfielder and was originally a midfielder

Arteta systematically pulling his players out of friendlies and nations league games is becoming a thing of concern for the national team. It's only a question of time before the other clubs follow suit unless something is done about it and the Arsenal players start to get sanctioned.

Bellingham Rice Mainoo much more balanced than forcing a right back to play midfield

I have a feeling England won’t do well in the tournament and one of the main reasons would be the midfield Mainoo would be the guy that takes the ball from the back four next to Rice cause with all due Respect to Rice he isn’t press resistant and to get the best of him u need to let him be a box to box if u play Rice Foden or Jude it will just be another Steven and Frank situation they will be imbalanced and get in each others way
