Hey guys, an updated video will be coming, when I made this video the profession cap was much higher, since then Blizzard has LOCKED professions at 150. The point of the video is still valid, these most definitely are the top professions for the same reasons, however some of the items I talk about are not craftable at level 25 now.

fishing should be number one - by fishing some chests you can get crafting materials unobtainable at lvl 25 any other way.

those voidboots are actually realy amazing. it is the only effect, that will stay strong as you level up and can become a great item for PvP healers expecialy but it is also a great "oh shit" item for others. I imagine every tailorer will hold onto that item, like engeneers using all kinds of items just for the active effect. I look forward to see more of those items in the future. maybe engeneering doesn't have to be the alpha and omega of professions in classic

Great video, I'm thirsty for more. Maybe even a "this is my battle plan for sod" video. Talking about what you will play, how you will play. Going into details maybe how you plan to level, if you wanna be ahead of the curve what you would do. Obviously if you have secrets you want to keep for yourself that's fine :D

Double check the sharpening stones. Most of the time the effect of the stones affect the weapon itself, not the character overall. 2% chance to hit might mean, just that weapon. So a 2H would get 2% chance to hit and a DW'er would get 2% chance to hit on their MH and 2% chance to hit on their offhand vs a total of 4% overall. I remember some other items in vanilla had that effect so double check the buff just to make sure. 4% overall would be a bit unbalanced for DW'ers vs classes that can only use a 2H or MH/Held in offhand like a Feral. 4% pushes you that much closer to specials not missing especially if they class the bosses in BFD raid as a boss so its 3 lvls above you and you'd need 9% to not miss. The elemental sharpening stones iirc gave 2% to crit but only to that specific weapon, not overall so they didnt stack. They did specifically word "on a melee weapon" and the blackfathom ones dont state that but again...id be surprised if its 4% overall.

In b4 it’s discovered that the alchemy potion to talk to the corpse in ashenvale is required for rune discoveries, or those void stones for the tailoring/lw/BS recipes 😅

I know this question is not really relevant to the video topic persay, but you mentioning the leather gloves with the use made me wonder if they are going to allow ferals to use items / consumables while shifted like they do in wotlk? I assume not as this is basically vanilla with new abilities, but it was a royal pain back in the day not being allowed to drink potions or activate items while shifted.

Unless they made a change, you should be able to get 225 (more as gnome) engi, and I have not heard anything about higher level resources being restricted, so there are plenty more bombs we can get access to than what you listed.

Hunters have a disarm at lvl 25, chimera shot with scorpid sting. Steel weaponchain will be a must have for any melee in pvp.

Someone already confirmed that all the new crafting items will be made with an item in BFD and a BOE blue if I am not mistaken.

Good video !! How about doing one on which racial is best for each class/sub-class?

My first character will probably be Mining/Skinning to make money because of how many people will be leveling Eng/LW. Then at 25 I may drop the one that won't compliment which one I choose.

As a miner skinner with the mats you get sell in the auction house with money you make you can buy whatever you want from auction house.

Can you go just two gathering ( ex . Skinning and minning ) and doing fine ? Or do yoy have to craft stuff for yourself?

I am sure you will be totally fine and rolling in money. Many people want to min-max like crazy and therefore go something like engineering + leatherworking or blacksmithing and will need the mats you gather. Downside of course is, that you are a bit weaker than these min-maxers but I honestly doubt, that it will be too much of a difference. I for myself plan to go hunter with skinning + leatherworking, just to be self sufficient and make sure, that even if I am unlucky in dungeons, I still get better gear.

@@Direwarlord213 If you want to switch to tailoring anyway, I'd say go with mining/skinning as some leather can be used for tailoring. So you can first level skinning, ceep a bit of the leather and all the cloth you gathered while leveling and switch to tailoring more easily.

what are best for mage dps?

getting iron ore at lv 25 is gonna be a struggle.. it is mostly in areas with mobs around lv 30+

There will be guilds in raid groups clearing out zones for ore, herbs, and skins. If you're on a pvp server the mobs are the least of your worries.

Best profession at the start of SoD will be skinning and mining. Make your main a resource gatherer and feed your alts the mats they need or sell on the AH for $$$$. Once you get your alts fed, then my plan for my main rogue is to go leather / engi and let my alts gather for me.

as much as i love mining, i really don't think it's realiable in phase 1. just imagine how dense every low level area will be, even more dense than usual fresh classic releases. the amount of zones we can actually play in will be fairly limited

@@koreanzombie6697 Right... I'm mining and skinning for later. Sit on skins/ore for a few weeks. Don't sell any. Wait for 2nd phase to open up and sell high when the demand comes up. Easy mount money with extra is what I'm planning on -- waiting for the market to go up at a later phase.

Goblin Landmines come out of Gnomergan. There probably won't be any way to use them in SoD Edit: So does the discombobulator ray Edit2: Steel weapon chain plans drops from level 38-43 enemies in the Badlands and Scarlet Monastery. I don't see how it will be attainable unless you have like a raid group /shrug

Very true but there’s going to be people that farm it, just like the spellpower goggles that drop off lvl 40+ mobs, gigachads will 100% farm these recipes. Most likely with raid groups.

threat generation will be a death sentence in later stages of the game. Most people were already threatcapped at our speedruns in classic

but there will be more recipes than originally, so it is rly hard to tell wht will work best...

We will only be able to get up to 150 skill, so alot of these recepies won't be available

The void gear should def be boe or every proff should’ve got a piece cause if you want to pvp engineering is almost required

gives you something to do. each phase will probably be two months minimum. and will only take a few days to get to level cap when each phase is released. tons of time to level up profs. you only need 100 LW for the gloves shouldnt be that difficult @@newt0n_

Probably the dumbest comment Ive heard in a while. "Void gear should be for everyone cause if you want to pvp, engineering is required". Which means, some profession FINALLY gets a reason to be used other than engineering? Also known as, balancing? Id say the move is making other professions more viable vs engineering, instead of keeping engi as the meta option.

afaik you can just dont unequip them once you drop LW. problem is you probably wont be able to rune swap the glove slot as a hunter if you end up dropping LW. @@implodingfruitz8093

you dont have to stand still to throw dynamites, thats what defines dynamites in the game. No incap effect, higher damage, can move. Grenade, incap effect, can move. Bomb, incap effect, large radius, can not move.

Mining/skinning while leveling all the way

So Engineers already had the googles + alot of other good items like bombs. They made Blacksmithing, Leatherworking and Tailoring almost as good, by adding great BOP epic items to them. So who is going to roll Alchemy?. My guess is that there is an epic BOP either neck, ring or trinket, that have not leaked yet, that only alchemists can use.

Unfortunately this was made just a couple days before they dropped the “professions are capped at 150” on us. Prior to that, we all thought it would be like classic and allow us to reach 225.

Correction: Hunter can now disarm you as well and then out melee you of course.

You do NOT need to stand still when casting dynamites or throwing grenades, BOMBS are what require you to stand still, that is why Iron grenades were always in demand in classic as they were the highest grenades until thorium(which were not used as the incap was the part it was primarily done for.

Hunters can disarm too

Yes they can! Riposte, in combat. My hardcore rogue is 52, you get it at lvl 20, it does 150% wep dmg and disarms the target.

Hunters now can also disarm

Alchemie will always be good but alchemy doen'st have anything special just for the alchemist. So everything the alchemist can produce, every other character can buy off of them and use too.

Alchemy isn't bad, it's useful. But he did say top 5 which in this phase, potions will always make money and be useful and obviously later they are lucrative. If there are raids, you can always make bank on potions and enchants.

Alchemy give you great potions, but you don't need it to buy them....

Fishing is great of course and it’s going to be one of the only ways to get some of the higher level mats needed, but it doesn’t directly enhance your characters performance that’s why it’s not on the list, those professions are coming in another video next week.

I think they made them BOP to encourage players from all running Eng. If some of your best gear is BOP from a prof then you have to pick if you want access to the gear or all the various doodads that Eng offers. I really think it's a good idea to encourage more players to have different profs.
