Funny story, we didn’t know about the secondary dash storage on my moms old mini and I was playing and generally being a crack head 12yr old. My mom slammed on the brakes to mess w/ me and I slapped the dash and that opened and we both froze thinking I broke her car. I slowly pushed it back in and then opened it again all while neither of us said a word and we’re staring at it like a couple of Neanderthals seeing fire for the first time. Then we both started laughing when we realized it was a secret cubby.

These are some cool features. I really like that keychain you have on the fob. Also the lock thing with the windows works with the top of the convertible models. I guess that they just used the same idea with both.

Don’t suggest running the car without the key too often -the key is self charging by having it in the ignition while the car is running. The battery cannot be changed. The key eventually needs to be replaced as it will not hold a charge after about 10 years.

@@DArias yeah had it on my 2016 F56 but on my 2018 countrymen and 2018 F55, its gone. They had to get rid of it due to airbag regulations. Bummer!!

Hey group. Great vid Diego, been in a 2014 F55 Clubman (45k) for the past couple of weeks and whoa. I also own a kosmik Rotax Jr. Max and in sport mode the Mini is so close (minus the Ackerman angle of course) to the Kart it really is unbelievably enjoyable. Just found the hidden glove box today before watching this vid and I'm going out to try the window trick next. I was so dwelling on the fact that the windows wouldn't crack open. Thank you,

Thank you! Tbh though to make a whole video would be kinda tough idk if it’s worth it I will say this. If you remove the front bumper all you need to do it pop out the lower grille cut the middle out with a saw, sand down the brake ducts so it’s smooth and even then spray them black or whatever color you choose. You can even remove the lower grille while the bumper is on the car but it’s a little tricky

This is great man. This remake is better and easier to watch. Kudos to you and this. I hope it blows up the same way the original one did.

Diego Arias yeah taking it off the top after I removed the leather part with a wedge and putting the adapter in, I don’t know how the little screws work and if I need any special glue to keep them locked in

What is the rectangle gauge on a mount coming off of the gauge there you are taking about , is that an obd reader , can you give me some information on it? Like to get one .

Some cars have the hidden glove box that's an accessory usually have to buy it and put it in or you can have it put in when you buy the car I was lucky enough mine came with it other cars don't have it

Mine too! You’re absolutely correct. Most of the minis I’ve seen have it but I’ve encountered an r/f 56 here and there without it

I had this problem and service couldn't figure it out for a year. Check to see that your computer's "go to sleep mode" is working.

They’re Spec D tuning chrome housing f56 style headlights. They only work though for halogen headlights only. If you have the oem hids they wont work

@@Uberick21 Yeah, I have "Disco Mode" on my 2012 Countryman, but not on my 2008 Cooper S or 2010 Camden S. This feature must have first been released in 2011 based on the fact that you have it on your 2011 and I have it on my 2012, but neither of us have it on our 2010.

Wish they would have made the cluster lights change color too.

Okay my Mini is 2011 and I don't have to put my key fob in the "ignition" at all in order to start it. Fob simply has to be in the car. I even had the fob in a box in the back of the car and it started fine. Is this because mine is a newer model or is that a setting?

You have a option called “comfort access” which allows you to. Means you have a higher end r56 model than I do haha.. that feature shown in this video is for no comfort access

@@DArias On the down side I do not seem to have that hidden glove box that is in yours. You seem to be more mechanically inclined than I am so I have a question. Very often when I am going up a bit of a steep hill and don't downshift or don't downshift enough a check engine light will come on. Does not effect performance and light goes out after restarting car and then revving the engine a little while car is moving. Is more of an annoyance and wonder if you are familiar with this. Just seems to happen if I "lug" or under rev the engine.

So I personally use my Carista obd Bluetooth device. Works great and also you to modify different things which I may actually do a video on showing how it works!

How do you get your Mini coded?

The keyless start doesn't seem to work for me. Anything i should check for or do i need a reprogram of the ECU? have a 2012 R56 JCW.

Update: It WORKS! the nuance with mine is that i had to first start my engine with the key in, and then i can turn off the car, remove the key and start the engine again without the keyfob in the slot. Hope that helps for everyone and thanks for this tip Diego!!

Lol the 'hidden' glovebox. My mate used to have a John Cooper Works and I accidentally popped that thing open in the first five minutes of sitting in the passenger seat. From then on it became a fidget habit of mine to repeatedly pop it open
