Take heart Brother you're by far in the majority - these watch ads are aimed at the upper .01 to .05% of watch buyers. That's WHY they have to ask literally 100x or 200x what a high quality Casio, Seiko or Invicta would cost. And I'm thrilled with my Casio & Invicta collection - I have about 14 of what are to me, their most interesting models - within my modest budget all of them together costing around $950 or less & bought piecemeal over about 8 years. Truly, to each his own !

You're FINE and God Bless you & your marriage ! This 100% unrealistic projection applies to the upper .5% of Grooms at most. Wedding watch budget of only $ 5-10,000 ?!? Similar to you, my Invicta Pro Diver Automatic Submariner homage, in Hulk Green has a Seiko Automatic movement, is stunning in beauty and was $80. I've got several Casio Duro Marlin Dive Quartz watches that are tough as nails & beautiful too - get compliments on them. Then my Casio MTP-1302D in Grey Sunburst Dial on Stainless bracelet is a STUNNER - A Gorgeous homage to Rolex Oyster Datejust, but unique in its own right & better in a couple ways (IMHO) to the Datejust. So I just laugh at all the over promotion thats rife in "WatchDom" - it's SO much posturing & show off ! I'll tell you what's cool - maybe you'll agree - I just replaced a scratched up stock mineral crystal on my 8 years old Casio Duro with a tough Sapphire one for $22 + a Harbor freight Crystal watch case press tool for $12 - thus saving this tough watch back to a daily wearer. To me, knowing these skills at upgrading - that's luxury !

Only thing I don’t personally like is the logo on the side. One day I’ll grow confidence to fix that myself. Funny enough I found out my most expensive watch in my collect is a Casio Calculator flip ftp-30 watch from the 80s my dad gave it to me when I was in junior high and I kept it in perfect condition I love it. See that’s something I want to get into. I’d rather have a watch I fixed up myself than to wear a watch I’m afraid to wear. Especially being in California.

Santos is the winner for me here absolutely beautiful

We already spent a lot on the wedding, so my budget was nowhere near 5k, so I went with the very affordable but classic looking Seiko tank on a black leather strap. Perfect watch for me that didn't outshine my tux. Not to mention people at first thought it was a Cartier. Win win.

The fact is that spring drive is not as in demand as mechanical movements. Grand Seiko overall is overpriced for what you’re getting.

I wore a Casio G-Shock DW 5600 on my wedding day. It was stunningly displayed on my wrist, as it totally complimented my US Army BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform). 😂😂😂 Yeah, I had a M16 wedding. (Courthouse during lunch). Back at work at 1300. 😂😂

I've never come across wedding watches but they're a great idea. When she tells you a budget for her engagement and wedding rings tell her the same budget for the watch she'll have to buy you . That'll sort the sheep from the goats before you commit 😂

Agree with you 100%. I've got the original Santos which I've had for 19 years now. Still a timeless look.

Tissot Gentleman. £800. Superb timeless style. Better movement than the PRX. Three or four different dial colours means you can probably get one close to your wedding theme colour.

Get a moonswatch jupiter but buy directly from swatch- not worth a markup. Unique color that goes awesome with earth tones. They’re super light so they never feel clunky on the wrist. Only gripe is the tick is the loudest I’ve ever heard on a watch. I can hear it ticking on my bedside table while off my wrist.

Tissot Le Locle is a great budget wedding watch, it’s based on a church tower clock (in the town of Le Locle) so feels very appropriate to wear to a wedding.

Ideally, wearing a dress watch is the norm, but I have a lot of people receiving sport watches as their wedding watch from the bride or bride’s family. It would be rude if they didn’t wear the watch that was gifted for the wedding.
