Like a lot of Rick's regular viewers I'm about the same age as Rick. As I was listening to this countdown, it just occurred to me how lucky I was to be alive and listening to all of these songs when they were released. There's not a lot of great things about getting to be this age in life, but it really is a blessing to be able to think back about the times in your life when these songs were first popular on the radio.

I thought Desperado might've been on the list, but the Eagles would've de-monetized the video, then blocked it, and Don Henley would've burned down Rick's studio 😂😂😂

“Thank you” by Zep is a great one. But, I was expecting “The Rain Song” to be the main ballad from this band. And ranked in the top 5 of course. Exceptional song.

Tangerine is one of my favorites.

Bonnie Rait's "I can't make you love me" gave me chills. Carmen Harvey is a great singer ... all are. And you weren't kidding about chord progressions; amazing how it seems to have become a lost art.

“I Can’t Make You Love Me” is one of the greatest, most heartbreaking songs ever written. Just my two cents.

Going through my late father's cd's, I came across one he had written, titled "Best rock ballads". His choices were the following: Child in time by Deep Purple Send me an angel by The Scorpions Feels good to me by Black Sabbath Heartbreak station by Cinderella Edie by The Cult Soldier of fortune by Deep Purple Belladonna by UFO Believe in love by The Scorpions Dying for love by Black Sabbath Stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin You make me feel by Bonfire November rain by Guns'n'Roses When a blind man cries by Deep Purple Nothing else matters by Metallica You could say that it brought to me exposure to artists I at the time hadn't even heard of and got me interested in going through the work of both the ones I just discovered and others I thought I knew. You could make an entire list of just Scorpion ballads. For me they are one of the greatest ballad bands of all time. One of my faves for sure.

All exceptional pieces and, the guests wow! amazing keep up the great work!!!

"Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits and both "She's Always a Woman" and "Just the Way you Are" by Billy Joel are all fantastic ballads as well.

Was thinking the same thing. Mark's almost spoken vocal delivery isn't quite up there with most of the others in the ballad list but that guitar tone and his story telling most certainly are. All I do is miss you through the bars of a rhyme. Some great imagery there. Juliet says he it's Romeo you nearly gave me a heart attack, such a funny lyric in the same song. Maybe not in Rick's list but his list made me think of this great song. So that is a positive for me!

For a Phil Collins performed track I would've picked Afterglow instead. I think it's a much more stirring song and performance, and Rick's cover artist would've probably done a great job with it

Man, Carmen is such a heartbreaking singer. What a voice! She absolutely nailed everything. I really appreciate that she sang on "Wild Horses;" reminds me of the incredible cover by The Sundays.

Graduating HS in 1974 virtually all these songs were right in my wheelhouse. It was a great time for music and super cool how these songs still have legs to this day.

I found Carmen Harvey's voice very appealing. I hope she does this for a living. She is certainly that good.

That was an epic line up. Rick even rockin' the backing vocals as well as flawless instrument playing. Those three vocalist are just amazing. I have never heard of any of them. Well. That's something that can be remedied with KZread, Google and iTunes...

Exceptional video, you let this great music blossom, thank you so much.

Loved this one more than I usually love the others. Dream On... still get goosebumps with that one even though I covered it myself for a while.

This is a really good list. I really appreciate you including Dan Fogelberg. I cry every time I listen to that song. I've been crying every time for thirty years, and I don't imagine I'll stop. I also appreciate including Heart.

I can imagine how difficult this endeavor was for you. Remote singers, playing piano, guitar, bass and other drums etc.. Filming yourself doing it and putting all of it together seamlessly. Hats off to you. Quite a job. thanks for doing it. Love it. BTW The singers are awesome. Bravo to all of you guys!

At 5:50 Carmen brought tears to my eyes - very well done! That is professional singing right there. Thank you! Damn it! ... and again at 9:26. Great tone but most of all she's emotionally connected to the lyric and its awesome. Nice performances by everyone. I would love to hear more of Carmen. I'll go see if I can find her on Spotify.

Man! Those guests vocalists! WOW! If an album were released with these covers, I’d buy it.

Love how eclectic the top 20 picks are across ages and genre's but it nerarly always hits close to the mark on an impossible task.

“Landslide” took my breath away, such a great performance and such an emotional song. I think it was the best performance in this video.

PinkOld I’d just like to point out that Without You is Badfinger’s song and they get almost no credit for writing it.

Great list! Love the vocals, especially given the obstacles.
