@@creigcoogan5363 Most sci-fi shows are turkeys but they appeal to nerds and have cult followings especially at comicons. Great thing about those old sci-fi shows is that it always had morality tales, as opposed to regular soap operas. These kinds of sci-fi shows regardless how bad they were wanted to show its viewers that humanity could survive even in its darkest hours. The bad guys were eventually vanquished. There were no hard choices to make, or picking the lesser of two evils. The really good shows had characters with flaws and layers with lots of shades of gray. For some, the end does justify the means. 24 is a perfect example of that.

The differences between better and “not so good,” whether old or new, were differences in writing, character development, dialog, world-building, special effects, even cinematography and score, production values generally. There is a pretty wide range of these things on your list.

Revolution is a great show if you don't analyze it too much. What messed it up for me is the plot revolves around nanobots that dampen electricity.

The setting was good, the idea was adventurous. But the acting was terrible and the scenario really lacked in my opinion. It was one of the most expensive shows ever. They didn't deliver for that

I wasn't hooked, it was enjoyable. I won't lie the thing that got me hooked was the "Sophie" revelation. That messed me up bad, but it set the tone for the rest of the series that no one is safe. Which prepared me for the rest of the series where nearly everyone from season 1 is dead.

Revolution was so good. it's a shame it got cancelled. at least it got an ending. Falling Skies was great as well another cancelled show unfortunately but at least it also got an ending. Honestly Jericho should have been number one and never been cancelled either.

Jericho is one of my favorite shows of all time. I know it had to end, but i wish it lasted a little longer seasons wise.

Blinkme fifa I'm not a huge fan of the walking dead personally, got bored with it midway through S3. But The 100's plot has a lot of unexpected moments, kind of like GoT. No character is ever safe, and the character development is very dynamic. There are no "undead" but there are an indigenous people who are essentially savages. Makes for some very good "bad guys"

I miss Jericho. I watched it when I was in my early teens (good memories) watching that with my parents and even my Grandma liked it. But when they ended the 1st season it was said season 2 was cancelled. After it never came on tv nor was it advertised I was not even aware a season 2 was made. I would watch it but it's been nearly 10 years since I saw the first season so would take a long time to catch up really.

Really like Walking Dead but I hope they have an ending plan. Not that I want it to end but don't want it to outlive the story. One day when we grow tired of it it'll just disappear. Too many of these shows never had a purpose and they just die. Liked Jericho but "poof" it was gone.

TheUsedRockz It's not far behind the comics. After this season we'll most likely see Negan and that'll most likely last 1 season or at most the same amount as the Governor story arch. And then they've caught up to the comics

Colton Wilson the cost of each episode. Spielberg was a genius in spending the more money he could in each episode. The pilot was one of the most expensive in the history of television. Still, fucking good show.

Maybe if it had less environmentalism propaganda and focused more on relationship between a colony and a hostile, unknown and mysterious world, rather than focusing on petty boring squabbles between individuals (that constantly got everyone around them in trouble), it wouldn't been canceled.

Jericho is quite possibly my favorite show to date. It might be old, but the acting and story in it is amazing.

I loved Jericho and Survivors! Those were 2 great shows that shouldn't have cancelled when they were at good points!! Also, The 100 is amazing for just 2 seasons currently.

Watching some documentary on it, they planned mad Max series in 80s or 90s I believe, but failed bc couldn't get right financing or something. I wish someone took the idea from decades ago and ran with it. I mean they had Mad Max comics.

"Jeremiah" has the same premise of a show based in New Zealand called "The Tribe." I used to love that show.

i pray since jericho is on netflix now, that they will revive it. i know its a stretch but i think it would be great

Jericho was so interesting, I wish they'd at least continued it a few more episodes before leaving us wondering what happens.

I love apocolypes shows but i wouldnt wanna live in one. looks great on screen but u have to remember everyone lost their family, usually starving, complete mental breakdowns with PTSD. Lack of hope the list goes on. War isnt nice. We all attatch ourselves to these shows because its an escape from this real world, and one thing these shows provide is a sense of belonging through chatacters on screen. Ive seen what war does, now imagine a world full of zombies, most people would lose their minds upon seeing the horror. If people havnt seen human guts and limbs flying around, they sure wont be able to handle zombies.

Walkimg dead without a doubt. All the world's technology would still be functional and you can literaly power-walk away from the undead, none of those fast as moving cars zombies. I mean really as long as you had even a basic set up to survive with you have a pretty good setup and some know how, you could easily last 1+ years. I will say this though, if any of you would try to fuck with me... i got no problem using you as walker bait.

I on the one hand plan to survive with the resourse's i have acumulated for up to twenty years, worst case scenario, but if the other person has a tank your basicly fucked six ways to sunday. On the other had the length of time that anyone survives is completly up to them, they will be forced to realize what they have to do to survive.

If a person survived for a good 6 months to a year the body's of the walkers would eventually decompose to the point were they are vegetables then all their flesh and organs would rot away until it gets to the brain witch would re-kill them. Or at least that's how I think it would work

The 100 is definitly the most underrated show I've ever seen , speacially in season 2 it gets so much better , the first seasons of TWD don't even come close

Hey now walking dead is an amazing show, it doesn't have such dramatic bullshit and it's quite raw which I love and the characters grow with you, however I've just recently finished season 2 of The 100 and although it was quite cheesy to begin with its a really exciting show with some unpredictable events just like walking dead. Walking Dead too was at its best in season 1&2 so The 100 might turn out the same. They both have many similarities in terms of plot and characters

Alana Thomson They do yeah I've noticed that and I love it and I'm not saying TWD is not great now although it is a bit overrated , I watch the show and I started season 5 just yesterday and it was great but to honest I excpected the show to be a lot better over season 4 , it's not that old of a series but I get that the first seasons can be slow but for TWD even season 4 was , I was told is was an amazing season but it was kinda boring for me then there was that great mid season finale and then it went slow again , a lot of great events happened but I don't know if they've shown the best way it's like they stuck these big events in one episode and the rest is just boring predictable things that I actually skipped some of the episodes but for The 100 it didn't get boring at all speacially in season 2 I was hooked all the way , I can watch it all over again and I don't watch stuff twice

I've just started Jericho and its amazing.

Survivors and Jeremiah are great shows. Huge fan of Jericho. If you don't know, Jericho had comics made for their Season 3 and Season 4 from IDW. You can find these online. The Tribe is a classic. I started watching it when it was on its 5th Season and I didn't know where to find it afterwards. Luckily, I'm slowly catching up on youtube.

problem with the Strain were that some of the characters were not acting very smart. The whole season was foreshadowing the eclipse, but nothing really happened during it. Surprised Del Torro didn't make some changes to the appearance of the main villian. Looked fake.

Revolution was a fantastic show!!!! The ONLY reason it got cancelled was because the producer did not want to do the TV show anymore despite its popularity and petitions for a 3rd season

I love 'Survivors'. It had a superb ensemble cast and it's so frustrating it was cancelled after only two seasons, and on a massive cliffhanger! Three other great British entries for you.... The grandaddy of the whole survivalist sci-fi genre is John Wyndham's 1951 book, Day Of The Triffids. All the tropes you find in these shows: the coming together of the survivors, the brief consumerist free for for all, the corrupt remnants of authority, the violent rivalry with other groups, etc: Day Of The Triffids did all first. It was televised brilliantly by the BBC in the early 1980s. 'Changes' was a 1970's children's series about a girl who finds herself alone in a post apocalyptic landscape. after all technology has mysteriously malfunctioned. Last and grimmest of them all: 'Threads', a TV movie dramatising what would happen if a nuclear strike was launched on the city of Sheffield, concocted dispassionately from the most accurate contemporary scientific models (early '80's again- a golden age for bleakness in the UK). It's very powerful and one of the most horrific things I've ever seen. It influenced the political debate in the country about the future of nuclear armament at the time. Made around the same time as 'The Day After' was made in the US, but that's a golfing comedy in comparison with Threads.

"The 100" is the best.

Jericho’s production team put so much effort into making the whole town id be afraid of the quality of a remade series, but if anyone is going to do it right Netflix is the one look at the society

In the Flesh is a spectacular post-apocalyptic show that explores some real hard hitting themes, 10/10 would recommend

'The 100' is a must for the list of post apocalyptic web shows. The story,cast,direction etc... is perfect.

Really hope a series with a similar background story to Terra Nova will pop up again, that show could have been great! I remember Falling Skies (if I'm not mistaken) and Tera Nova started at the same time, and with Spieldberg onboard with Tera Nova I didn't think it would be cancelled after one season, now I kind would like Tera Nova instead of Falling Skies. Falling skies kind og lost me after 2 or 3 seasons, but (like SO many other series) I would like to start over with it, probably once it's all done.

You kinda get that with the 100, post nuclear apocolops check , Humans living bunkers check(but also space stations) check, tribals eking out a new ecsistance check , war never changing double check. AI weirdness check people lobng nuclear weapons at each other like idoits check. I could go on and on but the're thousand of simairlties but I'm convinced of the writers being die hard fallout lovers and oddly enough I feel theyd be more spcicific if not for Bathehsda suing people right and left.

Jericho is definitely my favorite show I’ve seen in a minute

I look comments and weigh up if i want to watch. What one person like another doesnt. Worst part is end of video chopped off. Best regards.

It takes place like a 1000 years after the great Mushroom War. When they show the Earth from an orbit, you can see that a MASSIVE chunk of it was blown away; it has some correlation with the Lich and some nuke or something (I dont remember)... Why do you think there are a bunch or goo-oozing zombies all over the place in some episodes and how else would you explain Marceline's flashbacks to when she was little with Simon(Ice King).

Falling Skies could of been better if it had been more similar to the Resistance games!

The show Terra Nova is a really good show! There is only one down side of it... there is only like 1 season ( Around 12 episodes)

Revolution was pretty good, although sometimes they used a bit too much blood
