I another selling point for the necklace of adaptation is that you can wildshape into an aquatic creature and not need to worry about being hit into your normal form and drowning. If you get into an underwater combat the stakes aren't nearly as high and you can potentially fight more recklessly.

Or the uber stealth option, an octopus, camouflage, dextrous, and can squeeze into most any gap. Now without holding your breath.

Orca "killer whales" already breathe air with their lungs... But the necklace could also be useful for swimming in aquatic form through non-water liquids. Thanks for the videos!

It's actually slightly different than standard +2 studded leather armor.

@@portsyde3466 The only difference is that it is a lower rarity and inferior to +2 Studded Leather Armor as its much easier to get light armor proficiency then medium.

Thanks for re-doing all these class specific top 10 magic item videos. You do such a great job of being up-to-date on everything!

I can’t imagine how hard it would be but it would be kinda cool to occasionally see a top 10 for certain subclasses.

IDK, serpent scale says that its overlapping pieces of metal, so that sounds like a deal-breaker for a druid. I mean, I always argue anything with scales should be able to be crafted into a sort of armor. Large insect exoskeletons, as well as the ole favorite of dragon scale.

I had my party in a dungeon and they knew that they were trying to get into a room which was blocked by a wall (containing a secret door they didn't notice) the druid summoned a bunch of birds with Conjure woodland beings to "occupy" the spaces that were on their side of the wall and had a party member get shunted to the nearest unoccupied space, which happened to be on the other side of the wall. Since they were really cleaver about it, and there was a secret door, I allowed it to happen. I dont think those mechanics are used as much as they could be

Regarding the Necklace of Adaptaion, you don't get the benefits of equipment when it merges with your form. You can choose if it merges with you or if you continue to wear/wield it (DM's discretion if possible in that form), but no benefit is gained if it merges with you.

Came into the comments to say exactly this -- most DMs and groups are either blissfully ignorant of this rule or choose to ignore it but this is absolutely correct and helps hedge against the bustedness of the moon druid.

I disagree about the staff of healing for a Druid not impacting how you want to play your character. Yes, it lets you prepare different spells, but it still determines your action economy, because if you have that staff, your party is going to EXPECT you to use it.

So glad I found your channel. I'm a fellow druid lover. IMO as full casters, druids have wayyyy too few magic items (and spells, really). And I'd never heard of the Moon Sickle, so thanks. I 100% agree staff of Fire is an excellent magical item. My druid is in search of one rn. And Moon druid --> moon sickle. Re any equipment worn by druids, e.g., necklace of adaptation, insignia of claws, cloak, etc., per the WS RAW, equipment worn by the druid "doesn't change in size or shape to match the new [WS] form. Any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form."

Amulet of Tree stride, allows the players to do the tree stride ability that Dryad's have while attuned. if the player is not a druid, they have to make a DC10 Wis save when they try it, on a fail they take a d4 bludgeoning as they run into a tree.

My Dwarf Moom Druid is the second tank and main healer . Pretty versatile class 💪🏽👍🏽

Idk how I feel about Serpent Scale Mail, it's essentially just a set of +2 Studded Leather which is pretty powerful for an uncommon item

It's +2 studded leather that requires medium armor proficiency, which is still powerful but I feel like it isn't outside the level of an uncommon item, just on the upper tier.

@@timmyj9318 I think that text is only there cause it's counted as scale mail, and was applied automatically, not because the armor is actually made with metal.

I saw the cauldron of Rebirth in the thumbnail! Such a useful item. I hope you also mentioned the Barrier Tattoos, which give you AC comparable to Studded leather, Half-Plate, Or Full plate, depending on the rarity, but don't count as armor, so they work in wildshape, and can be paired with things like the monks unarmored abilities, and can be attuned by anyone, so even wizards or sorcerers can get a AC of 18, plus any other abilities or magic items, like the Bracers of Defense.

supprised the Barrier Tattoo wasnt on this list. its best for a moon druid but still very good for all druids if they get the VR version setting AC to 18

Had to look that on up, the small is pointless outside of Bracers of Defense but the medium and large really should have been mentioned. Especially with the Moon Sickle being a bit disappointing compared to the Staff of the Woodlands.

You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change size or shape to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form.

Hey! I am currently playing a Star Druid at level 12 and was wondering what magic items you all would recommend? Currently I am a Kalashtar Druid with a high con and wisdom. Current items are headband of intellect and cloak of protection. What items do everyone recommend me to get next/ eventually? (Mostly play with Dragon form Druid most of time and my con save is around +8, so con saves I am not too worried about.)

My Druid (level 14, Circle of the moon) was allowed to combine two magic items into a single weapon. The Staff of Withering and a +2 Moon Sickle. The Staff of Withering is a rare item that requires attunement by Cleric/Druid/Warlock and has 3 charges. By expending 1 charge you deal an extra 2d10 necrotic damage. The Target must make a DC 15 Con Save or have disadvantage for 1 hour on any ability check using Str or Con. The +2 Moon Sickle is a rare item (+1 Moon Sickle is uncommon). It requires attunement by Druid or Ranger. The +2 Moon Sickle gives you a +2 Bonus to attack rolls and damage, to spell attack rolls and to your saving throw DC of your Druid/Ranger spells. The Sickle also funktions as an spellcasting focus and while holding it you can add 1d4 to every spell that restores HP. Long story short: I can definetly recommend the moon sickle for every druid. I was definitely thinking Moon Sickle as a possible option one day, but was looking for other fun options as well that would fit for a witch themed character besides a Broom. (Mostly since I think the DM is going to be doing fun homebrew items for all of us eventually. One of which I brought up the idea for after harvesting the eyes of a monster that copied spells they saw someone cast.) Also, the focus for my druid is her gem as that is needed for her Guiding Bolt spells. Idea for the said item is that once per day when someone casts a spell, at a level you can cast, you can use your reaction to "copy" the spell. Once it is copied, it is part of your spell list for the remainder of the day and have to use your own spell slots to cast the spell. Once the day is over/ long rest, the spell is removed from the list. Basically made it as a way for me to get certain spells for making potions or copying the Sorcerers Shield spell to defend myself. XD (Potion making is a homebrew ability the character has as all of us have one unique one. Mine makes it to wear I can make potions off of dead creatures parts and using my spell slots to fuel up potions up to a certain level. Example being one 5th level potion or 5 1st level potions. So it helps me make Haste potions and etc.)

I think the necklace of adaptation is good for everyone I could see my artifice are using it

In fact it states quite clearly that "This armor consists of a coat and leggings (and perhaps a separate skirt) of leather covered with overlapping pieces of METAL, much LIKE the scales of a fish. The suit includes gauntlets." Aside from the enchantment the armor is the standard scale mail, verbatim. Making this magic item not suitable for druids.

never played a druid, but always wondered if they could regenerate forests for a kingdom? ie, could a village/city/kingdom hire one to regrow over-cut forests so the trees could be re-used for lumber?

Level three Druid spell is Plant Growth. You can use it as an attack or as a utility. If you cast this spell over 8 hours, you enrich the land. All plants in a half-mile radius centered on a point within range become enriched for 1 year. The plants yield twice the normal amount of food when harvested.

Sir, I love the fact you don't over exaggerate your emotions or over act. In your videos! I listen to your vids at wotk. BUT I don't see too 10 for sorcerers! And that makes me a sad panda...since I'm currently playing dragon blood sorcerer/ drake warden ranger. So make it top 25 instead or 10 lol

One of the downside of water gensei is they can swim fast but still need to breath so the adaptation neckless is good

The cauldron is kinda dumb. If you can use it as a spell focus, are you walking around with a heavy ass pot? If so, why can't you attack with it as well? I feel like most of the crap in Tasha's is pretty ridiculous.

Any scale mail says that. It's just a function of d&d beyond including the base description for all armor/weapons

Think that may have just been copied text from the vanilla Scale Mail. Its word for word except takes out the disadvantage on Stealth. The older lore does seem to suggest it's made from actual serpent scales, not metal ones.

That's purely a factor of d&d beyond. It lists that for everything that is scale mail, just like the nonsense it lists for weapons about having proficiency in it allows you add your proficiency bonus
