TOORO: FROM KASAGAMA TO OYO

Click to Subscribe: / owanapaedia & turn on notifications to find out when I upload new videos........................................
In 28-year-old Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, Tooro has the youngest reigning monarch on earth and he has been on the throne for 25 years.
On at least two occasions, Tooro disappeared from the world’s political map. First was when Omukama Kabalega of Bunyoro-Kitara annexed it in 1880 and last, when President Milton Obote abolished kings and kingdoms in 1967.
In this first part, OwanaPaedia brings you the resurrection of Tooro in 1890 under Omukama Kyebambe Kasagama. We relive the death of his heir Omukama George Rukidi in 1965 and the enthronement of Patrick Olimi Kaboyo in January 1966.
Not many Batooro and even fewer Ugandans have seen this rare history in video. Tell all of them that it is available…only at OwanaPaedia.

  • @OWANAPAEDIA

OwanaPaedia cannot present the "8th October Buganda Independence" story simply because it does not exist. If Buganda got her independence on 8th October 1962, how did Buganda's Kabaka Muteesa become president of Uganda in 1963? Why does Sir Edward Muteesa not write about Buganda's independence in his 'Desecration of My Kingdom' if it was really true? However, there is footage of the visit to Bulange-Mengo by the Duke and Duchess of Kent on 8th October 1962, followed by a grand party given by Kabaka Edward Muteesa in the gardens. The Duke represented Queen Elizabeth at Uganda's independence day celebrations and handed over the instruments of power to PRIME MINISTER MILTON OBOTE with Sir Edward Muteesa in attendance. Someone is deceiving you and this lie has persisted for the last 58 years. It is time to get rid of it because not even Sabasajja Ronald Mutebi believes it. We shall post the historic Bulange visit soon. Thank you.
