@@metregogi156 yes but I saw him several times with the other 2 bands during that time and they both released music in that timeframe. Also his winery is a full time gig. He’s motivated as hell. And I personally felt that Tool’s latest album was very good. Just an opinion 😎✌🏼

It should be a requirement to have at least 2 people reacting to TOOL. Watching each of you boppin to a different rythem brings a smile to us old TOOL Army peeps! You don't 'listen' to TOOL, you let them take you on a journey, sit back, let go and enjoy the ride! Cheers!

Don't miss the Pnuema drum cam, you WILL be blown away. Sober live, an early performance, is quite notable as well. 46 and 2 cannot be missed. There are just so many. Every album over the last 30 some years is great.

If you haven’t noticed, Tool fans love combing through KZread and finding videos of people listening to Tool for the first time. Welcome to the spiral. 🌀

Tool is a musician’s kind of band. They can get super intricate with polyrhythms and very ingenious sounds. The vocals are integrated into the whole rather than sitting on top and they take so many turns in each song is hard to predict what they will do next. For that reason I recommend you start with their earlier stuff like Opiate or Sober as it is their “simpler” music (relatively speaking!) Other good songs to start with are 46&2, Aenima, Hooker with a Penis. Their last album is so incredibly complex in the best way but you gotta build up your hearing muscles for it. So worth it!!

In agreement, far too early in your Tool Journey for Lateralus or Ticks and Leaches I would go Aenima, maybe.

They definitely make complicated rhythms more palatable to people not familiar with it depending on the song.

He never switched. He's the constant vocalist for Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, and tours with all three. He also owns and keeps watch over two wine labels, a vineyard, a restaurant and a Gracie Jiu-jitsu dojo.

Do more tool and I’ll definitely subscribe. Tool army is for real and they’ll make it worth your while. Tool started in the early 90’s. A Perfect Circle came out in 2000 and Puscifer came later. All still going and all fairly different from each other. Keep going. I suggest 46&2. Not all their songs will be everyone’s cup of tea but in my humble opinion they don’t really have any bad songs. ✌🏼

Here we go again!! Welcome to one of the greatest bands of all time. Tool, made up of Vocalist Maynard James Keenan, Guitarist Adam Jones, Bassist Justin Chancellor, and the Octopus on Drums Mr. Danny Carry. In general Tool can be divided between their early years which had a more aggressive, angry tone and their later years which is more spiritual and reflective. Each member are elite musicians, Tool only sounds like Tool and are a genre all their own. Maynard writes all the lyrics, and his performances are on par with some of the greatest vocalists in history. He is also a vocalist for A Perfect Circle and Puscifer both of which I highly recommended to dive into. Tool fans will tell you to stay away from reacting to any of their official videos as they distract quite a bit from the songs and lyrics, I typically recommend to just listen to their music first and then on a second go around pull up the lyrics, we promise, it'll add dimension and depth to the entire experience. Tool fans are devoted and love to watch reactions of people’s first time listening, to say they are unique doesn’t do them justice. Take your time with reactions, we don’t mind if you pause and analyze, a lot of their music is open to interpretation which is fun for all of us. Tools a good rabbit hole to venture down man! 46 & 2 is an absolute must! And if you really want to deep dive into them research the meaning of of it! Be careful tho if you arent ready to transcend and evolve to a higher state of human consciousness then I dont look into it! The singer for Tool Maynard James Keenan was always in both bands. Tool started first then he started Perfect Circle after and Hes also in another band called Pucifer! All 3 bands still alive and well! Hes a busy dude not to mention he owns and operates a winery in Arizona! Grows the grapes and all! Pretty crazy!

All 3 of mjks bands are amazing. 🖤 I can't get enough of them, esp now. I think it's cuz I am stressed, angry, tired, etc etc...and these bands are therapeutic. 🤘😂 I am STRESSED but though this is a serious song about f'n hypocrisy, which is rampant, it's so good it makes me smile and feel pretty good. You can dance to most of their songs as well. Truly magical. Aren't we lucky we get to listen to this incredible music? 😊

With Tool, every song is a journey

Maynard James Keenan help create Tool in the early 90's. Tool had some issues with their record company so they took a break and Maynard and Tools guitar tech Billy Howerdel created APC and Maynard is also the singer for a third band Puscifer. All three bands are active, producing music and touring. Keep reacting to Tool and the army will show up, we(The Tool Army) love watching people begin the Tool journey. That the best way to describe their music it a journey. Couple suggestions 1. Leave your expectations at the door. First rule of Tool is there are no rules. 2. Don't watch the videos. There are weird and confusing , purposefully I think, and they distract from the music. 3. Relax and let the music take you where you need to go I always say you should stop at the beginning their EP Opiate, then Undertow, then Ænima, then Laturalus, then 10,000 days and finally (I hope not) Fear Inoculum. Tools music is an evolution 🧬, I've been OGT since 93', there is something about each step, it necessary to truly appreciate then next step. It like skipping walking and going right from crawling to running. Your balance isn't a good as it would be had you walked, Tool's music it like that I believe. So I say start with Opiate 92'..Track #1.."Sweat" and we'll meet you on the other side...... Spiral out, Keep Going.

I remember hearing this for the first time. The day they released 'Fear Inoculum' after waiting 10 years. Everything about this album is art. The album artwork and jacket are revolutionary. Art work that plays on a screen to the music. Truly incredible! The only thing that beats listening to the album is seeing them live. A transforming experience. The only thing that could possibly beat seeing them live is watching someone get exposed for it the first time. '46 & 2' is my favorite. 'Sober' 'Psnuma' I could suggest so many more. 🤘😊🤘

I have a very eclectic musical spectrum. I have been mesmerized by Tool for donks (ages) and like newez reaction. Like when your grand younguns hear your Old School playlist, I mean early to late 80s rap the Tru Skool or when I tasted KFC for the first time...epic.

Don't know if you guys mentioned this but, Maynard James Keenan also sings in a third band, but of his own making, called Puscifer (Pussy + Lucifer = Puscifer). Maynard's singing style range is phenomenal; it's really hard to tell that it's him sometimes.

You guys got a like from me for this one. Gotta work for that sub, though. This was fun, and I look forward to more. Been a Tool fan for 30 years. They have way too much stuff to pick out a single favorite. But I would recommend looking up their discography, and leaning towards their earlier stuff first, and work your way through. The Pot is sort of right in the middle of their recording history, but it always seems to be a great starting point for new listeners. I am going to suggest one of my very favorites from way back when. I would love for you to hear/react to the song Bottom.
