Jackson is doin good. • Pay-as-you-go • if you have to borrow a tool 3 times your next purchase should be that tool • Listen and take advice from guys with gray hair and gray beards. 😝

green is probably the best color, not just preference but the fact that no mass produced motor vehicle manufacturer makes their engine bays with bright green in their accents or parts in general. this makes tools easy to find if you drop it, assuming that the tool itself is green

Awsome collection for only a yr....Olight Seeker 3 is awsome, its kinda big but awsome like and its my goto..... I have a huge collection and I'm not really loyal to 1 brand, i just buy the best quality that makes sense for that particular tool just kinda based on usage and whatnot.....I personally like the icon stick lights, reasonable price and crazy bright with lifetime warranty..... Your collection takes time but killer start

Something that helps me know that an apprentice is in it for the long run is if they’re getting tools for the job and building a solid collection for the job, doesn’t have to be tool truck tools, it could all be HF as long as they’re getting tools

Federal law says that employers are legally required to provide any and all tools required to do your job so long as you're not contracted. Mechanics shouldn't even be buying their own tools. It's the only trade where you're expected to do so.

there is a caveat to that because most shops go by book rate and not by hour. book rate is considered a contract with the customer which is how they get around that.@@COBRO98

Nice set up for first year. Don’t understand why you have so many problems with the little streamlite mines 4 years old same battery. Been soaked in every fluid and even been through the washer and dryer a few times. Still works great even outside in 40 below up here in Canada.

The o rings come dry and can get accidentally pinched. I put some grease on them the second I got it out of the box and also lightly greased the usb port. Never had a problem and it’s been going strong.

Small pocket light the Streamlight Stylus Pro 2-AAA batteries is a very good light. Old micro USB but the Strion switchblade and TwinTask headlamp is great. The Streamlight Stylus pro aaa battery version and TwinTask headlight, I wouldn’t go to work without it. Almost all the Snap-on lights I had bad luck. I guess the one that uses the 14.4 battery is ok and the 425 lumen project light with 8 hr runtime is good, but the rest of those Snap-on folding lights are not as good as the Streamlights. The Streamlights have issues but if bought off the tool truck he handles the lifetime warranty. I tried them all, Streamlight have more of a true color light, best works lights out there. Hell spray the oring with wd40 or something no problems. It’s sad to say this but most Streamlights are over 6-10 year old design, still the best out there. Maybe the Snap-on under hood clamp light might be good, but $300! I think I can make do with the project lights.

Why would you let some 18 year old kid go into debt off of tool trucks, or anything for that matter. You're supposed to mentor him, I bet no one has even told him automotive mechanics don't make shit for money. Literally the worst trade you can get into.
