Tony Robles Clinic - Part 1 Stance and Bridge- 8 Ball Pool

Спорт

I had the wonderful opportunity to have a training session with a professional pool player, Tony Robles. In our one on one session he went over a few different fundamentals, and also showed me how to recognize patterns to run out a table better. I am truly grateful for the opportunity that was given to me, and my wonderful girlfriend Francesca who accompanied me to his house for this lesson. I hope that when the world returns to a more normal situation I can have another lesson with him, especially after being able to practice at home the things that were shown to me.
Enjoy and as always feel free to leave comments!

Tony. You look great Sir! I haven't seen you since you were in Melbourne Florida. It was a great treat to play you Sir. I have only played a few players that were able to fire back when fired upon for hours!!! I felt like I won losing the last set hill hill. 9 hrs of some of the best play with the utmost courtesy. Thank you Tony! :)

I am not sure if Tony is still doing lessons, I know he is getting ready to move, but it was an honor to learn from him and he definitely made me feel good about my shot making skills.

I gotta say I absolutely admire Tony as a pool player and as a person! I listened to the POOL PLAYER PODCAST with him the other day and it got me wondering..this is more of a general question and I definitely mean nothing negative by it. In the podcast I think he said he charges several hundred for a lesson. Watching this video, the first lesson I have ever seen him give on a video, I don't think I really learned anything new, cause I have already gotten all this information from KZread instructional videos from other pros and stuff. So my question is, when people pay for these lessons, are they paying for information or more like for the pleasurable experience of hanging out with Tony? I know in a free market 'the price always finds its buyers' but I am just wondering about the monetary value of such lessons, don't crucify me in the comments, cause I really mean no offense! ;)

Jaroslav, first let me thank you for taking the time to reply. The lesson you see here was pre-quarentine, and it was one of the best experiences I've had. The reason a house pros lessons run higher is because as I understand the house may have their own fees. Tony's knowledge and the fact that he was able to watch my initial shooting and find some issues without seeing me beforehand was fantastic. So the cost of his experience and knowledge is definitely comparable to a pro in any other trade, a master carpenter for example. You aren't just paying for the lesson, you're paying for all the tools in their bag, all the knowledge they've painstakingly earned, and also in this case the risk of the virus. Tony invited not only me, but also my girl to come to his house for this lesson which was above and beyond. I had quite the experience and this was the initial springboard to getting me to improve my game

The location of the cameras actually only a couple of feet from the table because of the wide angle lens it made it look further back than it was. However it was still a really good lesson and all the important information is in there!
