Tony was clearly playing slow because he knows Jason is a fast player, but that is not illegal, and it is why they use a shot clock most of the time. If there is not a shot clock there is nothing illegal about slow play. In the last game Jason broke dry, then he sat down in his chair. Then he waited for Tony to go to the table, then while Tony was at the table looking at how he was going to run them out, Jason jumped up and put chalk on the table and removed the magic rack. That is a sharking type disrespectful move, it is meant to distract Tony and shark him. Which is what the announcer did not like, and I did not like it either. Jason did it on purpose, he should have just stayed in his chair and let Tony study the table and remove the rack if he wanted to. Once you sit down and the other player is at the table, you should stay in your chair and be quiet, anything else is trying to shark the guy.

Thanks for explaining that. Obviously Jayson was unhappy after the dry break but I didn't realize the ramifications of him placing the chalk and clearing the rack.

@@5000rgb I hate it when I am playing someone and they break dry, then sit down, and while I am looking at the table to decide how I am going to run out, they come back to the table and look at something. I usually tell them to go sit back down, they have no business at the table after they break dry. It's a form of sharking, they are trying to distract you. I have played for 35 years in every pool league there is and played in a thousand tournaments, not to mention pool hustling at late night bars and nightclubs for 20 years, so I have seen it all.

Taking 40 seconds to break and playing slow, if it is a strategy that was consciously employed by Robles, is a angling/sharking move too. If he played slow and Jayson came to the table and removed the rack, Neither acted outside the rules of the game. Both simply fucked with or "sharked" one another

Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
