Tony wearing the neck brace was great, but goodness I am disappointed. He was on an international news show and he could have just plugged AEW, talked about how things are shaping up for the return to Wembley after breaking a record last year and all the acquisitions he got and put over the journey of AEW and surviving the pandemic as a new company but pretty much just said we are number 2 and number 1 are the bad guys. This was such a great opportunity to let people know AEW exists and promote, why resort to WWE slander instead is beyond me.

It's just so disappointing that the supposed smart wrestling fans and the self-proclaimed best wrestling show just consistently look amateurish and clumsy. If it's so good, why isn't it very good? I need one person to explain to me how the comment has anything to do with the neck brace. Like, i get it, but let's stop pretending like mentioning that the opposition exists is a bad thing. Vince McMahon is the Anakin Skywalker of Pro Wrestling. He helped bring the business into the mainstream, but then he became Darth Vader in 2001.

It not going to do nothing but continue to make Tony look bad..

I dont have a problem with veiled jabs here and there, but that was a full blown insult on national tv which came of low class and petty.

It would be one thing if Tony actually cared about women or their experience in the wrestling business. But he doesn’t. He’s mad about his show doing a bad rating and lashing out. If he cared he wouldn’t use their abuse to promote his show, and he wouldn’t employ multiple people accused or abuse.

The problem I have is that, even if TK is 1000% right? He's giving WWE way too much time in his headspace when he should be focused on his own promotion. And I can never shake the feeling that if he can devote this much time and effort into taking cheap shots at WWE, he could have taken two seconds to lean over to Punk at the scrum and say, "Hey, why don't NOT make everyone here, including yourself, look bad, and finish talking crap when you're not in front of the camera?" But since he couldn't do that, and still hasn't learned from it, everything feels too little too late. And if nothing else, Punk calling him a poor boss feels very accurate now.

Since they showed the punk/perry stuff as part of the story line, this TK attack thing has it where going forward TK would fire/suspend them. If not, then TK is not “scared for his life” of them, so who else would be. If the plan was to do this attack angle, making the other incident part of the story before made zero sense

He also didn’t quietly let Punk go, he made a big announcement about it and said his famously stupid “I feared for my life” comments. So now when he’s “assaulted” on tv by three guys the internal logic of the show is trash. There’s a reason the ratings have been declining along with live attendance. Insult me all you want but I’m not hurting this company, Tony is. He’s steering the ship in the wrong direction.

A lot of comparisons to WCW 2000, but for me this feels more like TNA 2011. More specifically the Immortal "Therrrre Herrrre" era. I already fell for that crap once, no way I'm sitting through it all over again with AEW 2024.

WWE takes shots at AEW on a daily basis. They just do it through other people like Pat McAfee, Booker T, Kevin Nash, Bully Ray, Eric Bischoff, Sam Roberts, Ariel Helwani, Road Dogg, and others. All of these people mentioned are paid by WWE in one fashion or another.

TNA didn't get that much of an audience like the NFL...Road dogg and Billy Gunn did it but nobody saw it...if Tony put over swerve or Ospreay nobody would remember it but Harvey Weinstein comment made headlines, I admire him for it....I did the same thing in my field years ago but I backed it up...Tony needs to back it up...

@@therealjd4life The problem is they aren't directly competing with WWE. I understand what Dave is saying "Well they did it in the 90s" yeah but TNA did it and it never helped them in any form. It's not the 90s anymore. Plus the pot shots never helped WCW and WWF in the wrestling wars anyways besides like maybe the DX invasion of WCW thing but besides that the only thing that worked was building stars and good product. Tony just spent a bunch of money on Osprey, Okada, and Mone. If he actually wants to take a shot at WWE he needs to take talent from them that wasn't fired or never was on WWE TV. It's nothing against Osprey or Okada they are both great and Osprey is doing great stuff but I have already seen them in AEW before coming anyways. If they want to do some moves actually do some moves.

Wrong time to say something like that. Right now is a happy time for American wrestling fans. Wwe significantly improved and finally got to the point again where I feel many want to see how stories continue on so attacking WWE like that now is just wrong. I understand it is competition but talk about how great aew is. Talk about the new champions of swerve Strickland and Willow nightingale. Talk about how aew is a buffet of wrestling where you have more authentic lucha, Japanese strong style, and British technical wrestling matches. How there is countless surprises with some wrestlers making special one off appearances like Rob van dam. WWE is doing really good right now so you won't have many siding with you with attacking it as a whole. That is why talk the positives of your own company and try to entice people to watch your show. Mentioning swerve and Willow may have gotten someone to look them up and then tune in to watch because they were interested in seeing them

Like punk said - " not a real business". Aew may go under 600k regularly in the future. SHITSHOW

It honestly seems like you don’t know what PR means. Being in the lawsuit and still getting food to great press on a consistent basis is good PR.

To say that WWE has done great at pr while ignoring the fact that the people in power who enabled Vince's behavior are still there and faced zero consequences is crazy. Does Dave realize he's the press and he doesn't have to pretend the company line is true? For both WWE and AEW.
