I saw Tony in concert two years after this interview in Danbury, CT - the reason he came to a small venue at Richter Park I'll leave for another post, but he spoke about it at the end of the concert - and he must have sung 20 songs - pitch perfect, incredible energy and phrasing, and he had two players from Count Basie's band with him. He was 87 at the time and at the absolute top of his game. His latest recordings with Lady Gaga show that all of his genius is still there. God bless him for keeping great music alive - and for the magnificent talent he's given to the world.
I love older Italian people they are the salt of the earth!.
"I sinned against my talent, I sinned against my talent" Howard misses a great line twice.

That's because Howard loves hearing himself talk ... he doesn't know how to listen.

@@cedergrenpeterit’s true. Howard is funny and with certain guests he’s a great interviewer but Tony Bennett was a class act and wasn’t feeling it

RIP Tony. You and Amy have some nice duets in Heaven. :)
L💜VE Tony such a good man. If all of you could be like him. Humanitarian, smart, skilled, survivor, mentor, provider, family guy, knows how to live and humane.
Such a treasure to hear this still. This guys not gonna be around much longer. A true legend. So glad I got to see him in concert.

Met her when she was a teenager on work experience with a company I worked at with her dad ... no idea she would turn out the way she did... your parents shape you growing up and I think that is where it all started to go wrong.

Sorry this made me lol 😂 This reminds me of me talking to my parents, Howard stern missing all the important lines, me Bennett being not recognized fully, cause Howard loves his own voice clearly 😂
this man was in WW2 and he saw heavy street to street combat when his unit entered Berlin in April of 1945
I cannot believe this was 10 yrs ago i remember this but couldn’t believe it was 10 yrs ago . Wow
RIP Tony, one of a kind
Stern is a bloody overtalker... 😭😭😭😭🇮🇪😭
I imagine there being plenty of wine at Tony's house 🍷
His Life was “Anything Goes” and we should always give Tony the roses while he’s still around despite Alzheimer’s has put him on retirement.

Why do these "Italian pride" genre of singers always change their last name to make it more British sounding

Tony Bennett was picked by no less than entertainment legend Bob Hope to be Anthony Benedetto's stage name. But the trend reflects the prejudice that mainstream White Anglo-American society inflicted on Italian Americans. To be known as Benedetto or Crocetti (Dean Martin's real surname) marked you out as an alien or a less-than
