    I always found it ironic, how, being all cool and typical alpha, Tommy looks less in charge when he is with Alphie, who looks kinda childish and fidgeting. Alphie is like a raw man of nature, that can control everything, even the modern and collected Tommie.

  • @NelsonMendezJr.

    I love method actors and very smart directors that actually consult experts and real world examples to create a fictional character put together with realistic personality traits. For example, in this show, Cillian trained himself on blinking a certain amount of times a minute until it was natural, he hardly ever blinks during a stare down or tense negotiation, but it's not a dear in head light type of not blinking, it's just a unintimidated and very confident chilled out and relaxed blink count. In the Witcher, a REMARKABLE show, Henry Cavill trained himself to only say about 30 words a minute during a conversation that doesn't involve a pressing matter or the need to talk faster, but you really start noticing that it's ingrained in him now. The blinking thing is probably harder to stop than the talking after their done filming tho

    @@Sapientia-in-senectute ya! Especially if thеyre aware of his reputation, military history, and the fact that he has a gang of family members including a completely insane, impulsive, and violent brother that will kill for Tommy at the snap of a finger. Even if they don't know anything about him, he does a great job of looking like someone you do not want to piss off. Psychologically, his character is interesting as hell because he's able to be the way he is only because of how damaged and messed up he his in the head. How do you intimidate someone that is indifferent to dying. Not unafraid, but uncaring. That's worse than psychopathy. It's.... I don't know..ominous? Or daunting? Incredible show with a brilliant cast of main, reoccurring, tertiary, and guest star actors. Even Little Finger is awesome and as much brilliance Cillian brings to every scene, Tom Hardy is just uncanny. I read that they don't even write his dialogue but just tell him where to begin and how to finish and what kind of atmosphere to create during a scene. How could a writer come up with what Tom said when describing his boxer that he was sponsoring or managing. "He was spawned by the devil because no woman could survive birthing him due to his leeethal dyemenchuns" or whatever he said with that unique and secular accent he created. Ive never heard anyone with an accent like that but it's perfect! Lol

    This analysis perfectly highlights the pure genius of the screen writing and the dialogues this tv-show has?? I mean someone had to choreograph every single one of these small gestures and the actors had to act them out perfectly? Is this show even real? It's just on such a high level... Damn these powerplays, the subtle meanings hidden in some sentences.... When Tommy said: like I'm digging myself out right now, and Alfie leaning back in disbelief cause he has nothing against Tommy god it's epic

What I really like about Alfie is that he is talkative, moves often and often emotionally honest yet he hardly ever seems to be so because of insecurities or nervousness. Contract this to Tommy and characters in other stories like Tommy (Silent, still, emotionally withdrawn/blank).

    Any thoughts on the pain staking plot hole in Tommy's grenade story? The guy at the door was outside the building. Tommy supposedly placed a grenade inside the building. There's nothing, absolutely nothing, stopping Alfie sending Ollie to check to see if there really is a grenade by the barrel. If he did, Tommy's bluff collapses and he probably gets shot dead. Now if the guy was standing outside the office door, the story would make sense as Tommy says; "If anyone but me walks through that door, he blows the grenade." But the fact the guy is outside the building completely destroys Tommy's bluff.

  • @whiteasian4990

    @whiteasian4990

    Жыл бұрын

    Tommy implemented a time constraint and it would take too much time to check where the grenade is before the guy pulls trigger. This is why Alfie quickly interrogates Tommy instead because he understands their is little time.

  • @2KXMKR

    @2KXMKR

    Жыл бұрын

    @@whiteasian4990 I believe it was seven minutes. Seven minutes to run downstairs to check the specific barrel that Tommy mentions and Ollie actually saw with his own eyes, so knows exactly where it is. Even if Tommy's guy on the outside was actually supposed to blow it up if Tommy didn't return, he would have no idea that Ollie was looking for a grenade inside. If Alfie had just sent Ollie to check, or even gone himself, then he'd have ended up putting a bullet between Tommy's eyes right then and there. Bone mush bone cabinet.

    I admire how knowledge-hungry you are, respect🔥. Read a ton of books on it and I'm extraordinarily passionate about psychology. I studied it for 6 months next to my current study but that wasn't on university level so I decided to self-educate myself (planning to start either psychology or neuroscience at a university after my 40's). Specific body language books I'd recommend for you: - The Definitive Book of Body Language (by Allan Pease) - What Every Body is Saying (by Joe Navarro) - Captivate by Vanessa van Edwards (a little different than the other books, but worth the read)
