One of your best interviews. Mr. Emmanuel is a class act and an inspiration.
If you are turning your nose up at what Tommy does, you need to seriously re-evaluate your life.

Bluegrass is amazing 👏
The humility from someone so incredibly talented is wonderful to behold:)
Watching him at work with Mike Dawes is one of the greatest musical treats there is. You can see how he watches the other musician intently (not just equals like Mike Dawes, but also up and coming ones like Gabriela Quevedo) and blends his playing beautifully with theirs. That's the mark of humility that all the greats have: they serve the music.
A man that knows his purpose. Incredible self-awareness. And that’s why he’s so damn good at what he does, kids.
A great guy. We love him here Down Under 💖

The man is the best to listen to 😊
He is a treasure and a wonderful entertainer.. you have to catch him live
You’re a beautiful soul, Tommy!
He is a maestro's maestro! Inspiring! You become great like He is by real talent and real skill and by listening and be an "open vessel" with genuine humility. He does not stop learning, no matter his mind blowing level!
I had the pleasure of meeting him pre show and I played for him, lol. He was so kind and gave me some pointers which have greatly strengthened my finger style
Tommy is certainly ...one of the BEST !
Never heard the guy speak but knew he was a legend all the same
Always remain an open vessel. That's one of the greatest wisdoms of life. Hubris and pride lead to destruction, but humility is the key to everything. 🙏🏼💙🤘🏼
If there was a class in college on humility, this is the expert on the subject who would teach it.
He is one of the most outstanding guitarists that has ever lived. I feel blessed that I’ve seen him perform twice live and will see him again tonight. Brilliant and inspiring.
big tommy fan good to see he still pickin and kickin!
As soon as he says “ I’m open to the universe “ What a great guy!
Lovr this!❤
Love Tommy and love American Pie
I like the way he thinks!
Tommy's a legend, I've still got , determination, journey, both the albums, he's even better live, gald he's still out there jamming 👌🎸🙌
I just love both of these guys. Open, humble and intelligent. Oh yeah; and virtuoso musicians!
this MAN AND HIS brother Phil.... were what got me and our 3 brothers obsessed with learning and competing with each other... til we all got REALLY good. We binged our one vhs we had EVERYDAY AS soon as chool knoked off... ... and maaan i cant recvined this enough WATCH YOUR IDOLS) WE all learned EVERYTHING we could... 1 brother can play exactly like him EVERY SONG ... but that bro had a lot of his instrumental albums too. On every song. Je hearsnit ince ir twice and bang. He can play it!! Nathan Cavalirie was another amazing guitarst too - and he was a kid still.
I just saw Tommy play with Peter Garret at Easter, two Australian legends.
Tommy's so great. One of the best!
Love this man. One of the best
When you're one of the most talented guitarists in the world that says a lot but when you're an even better person that says it all.
Keep doing what you do Tommy! Love you!
living legend
I found Tommy’s music like a week ago because of this interview haha his music is hella cool
Tommy is an absolute legend. I just love how he plays and emulates.

If you've never seen Tommy, do yourself a favor. I'm 60, and have seen at least a 100 concerts, this one is one of the best I've ever seen
Seen him live met him before he went up on stage such a beautiful human being
Go tommy
Tommy, The Man! 🎵💙💛
T.E. is one of the top ten greatest world renowned guitarists to exist imo
I've seen the hole interview, I was waiting for that interview at that time... And tomorow I will see TOMMY EMMANUEL live, in company of MIKE DAWES, in Catania, Italy...!
I saw Tommy play at the Regal Theatre in Western Australia what seems like over 40 years ago. He played two Beatles songs at the same time. It was extraordinary.
Amazing guitarist.
Amazing 👏
The best in the world
This guy! He is not only one of the best and most versatile guitar player on the planet, he seems to be a genuinely nice guy. AND!! He has a really cool collection of shirts! 😬
I love Tommy, he s the only guitare player from who i bought gears, like the bell strap! he s amazing
Tommy E. loves Don Maclean. That's awesome!!
Thee Tommy Emmanuel! He brought me up to more current music about 25 years ago all i was learning was the country blues and ragtime from early 1900's. Reverend Gary Davis, Blind Blake, Charlie Patton to name just a few. Studying Tommy's playing, as well as the earlier legends has helped me grow from just strumming chords like a Baby Bob Dylan or whatever. (No offense intended to Bob Dylan or his fans✌️)
One of the best
Agree with American pie Don McLean, original raw and unapologetic, I can see why Tommy would love it!
Coming to Cincinnati in October 2023 👍
Tommy rocks!
Powerful.
A beautiful cat.❤
As close to Hendrix as anyone could get, different kind of music but his abilities are Hendrix like
Going to see him in May. Can’t wait.
Such an amazing artist, definitely connected and channels well 😎🎶🎶🎶
It’s been great to see how Tommy has evolved over the years. With his version of Classical Gas, when he was young, it was just played fast, but through time a trick he had learnt was added here and there, and it naturally evolved into what you hear now when he plays it. Knowing Tommy, it won’t stop evolving.
well put
❤
He’s so right about the inspiration coming into him, through him, and out to the audience. That’s exactly how it felt at Pepperdine last month. Tommy brought us happiness. (A word about Dawes … he might be a great player but he needs to cut the repetitive patter by 75%. It quickly became distracting from his music.)
Don Mclean is a master songwriter along with the likes of lennon, mccartney, harrison, prine, nilsson, nick drake, bob dylan- very under-appreciated artist.
I keep trying to emulate this guy - in many areas.
Very similar view on creativeness to Rick Rubin!
I think he needs to have all the attention all the time, that’s how you get to his level of playing. you can’t be humble.
Tommy, do you like lap steel and dobeo? Autoharp? Melodiaon! Mandolin? My dad used to have all these instruments and more for house guests to play with. -Cathy Merrill

@@AugrillsThe actual Bluesman at the crossroads was Tommy Johnson, not Robert Johnson (no relation). He revealed his tale of being at the crossroads when Robert Johnson was still a youngster. The Tommy Johnson Blues Festival is frequently held at the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation in Jackson, Mississippi.✌️
NOBODY turns their nose up at Tommy Emmanuel :-)
I'm a bluegrass guy, and the bluegrass paradigm does not include plugging in, though sound reinforcement is necessary to be commercially viable. That said, I love what Tommy does -- he's the best at many things. Being bluegrass is locating the music on a spectrum, not normative or a judgment. Not everything that is good must be bluegrass, nor should everything be considered bluegrass just because someone says it is.
Went to a bluegrass jam with my 12 string. They said they were playing a tune in Bb, so I just played bar chords while they pulled out a capo. They really looked down their noses at me :)
What amaze me most is this right here. To be such an amazing player and have such an amazing career. You ask him a question, he has zero ego and it's just a player helping another player!🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 he a good guy; that's so important to keeping the music alive! "All the best players are just really good guys!"- Greg Bissonette, from your interview.👏👏👏👏👏

Great album. Skip the title track, go to Vincent and Empty Chairs and you’ll soon know why Tommy likes it.
I know Tommy's daughter :D He's seen me and my friend play, but I doubt he was impressed!
Saw TE years ago. What's a player. 👍
Thank you Tony Enamel
A great guy and a great guit player. Nobody, and I mean _nobody_ gets more out of a guitar than Tommy. He slaps, beats, thumps, and tickles it into submission. I bet his guitar habit is about a pack a week.
He had me till American Pie. A yucky song.
The soundtrack for American Pie has my favorite Blink 182 song! Great movie album, glad Tommie likes it too!

Ummm...I think he was talking about Don McLean's American Pie
Rick you need to put out an Instrumental album and invite guitarists to play on it! You play the one side yourself and second side guest guitar players
You don't have to "try" to be anything... You are what you are...everything else is just emulation
Now this is just a clip but one should really watch the full version. It's so good.
That white SG is gorgeous......
It's like, when I watch John Petrucci in interviews. Perfect gentleman as if he has no idea "That's John MF Petrucci! Why is he being so humble?!?!?" Well because if he wasn't, he wouldn't be John MF Petrucci! I mean I could sit for days listing people I look up too because all these years later, they're still a class act and musicians education is still so important to them!
