I watched a Chet Atkins documentary o here a week ago and when people were talking about him they basically said what everyone in these comments are. I could never do. But yes. Yes you can. I can play Tommy’s tunes, granted not as great as he does, but I can. In that Chet documentary someone, his name escapes me currently, said “well I can’t be impossible. He’s playing it.” Take it a measure at a time if you have to. You can play it. You just can’t play it right now.

@@adamlaxmusic I mostly agree with you, but some things, most just physically can't do. Like when Tommy's version of Classical Gas, where he anchors his thumb on the Low 'E' string, and moves his fingers over a 5 fret range. There might be a work around but it's pretty amazing. Love a reviewer who basically said he physically couldn't do that, and that it required 10's of thousands of hours to learn. Love discussing this, as I get to listen to this wonderful collaboration each time!

As a kid remembered his musicians Don Reno, David Deese, Wayne Haas, Ray Atwood and his wife, Tommy Faile, 'brother Ralph', George Hamilton iv, Donald Ange (keyboards) and others. Arthur Smith and the Crackerjacks, later "Carolina Calling" with Jim Patterson. Big lists, big names like Roy Clark, Glen Campbell, Ronnie Milsap, and even actor George Hamilton appeared on his show. His brother Sonny was also a big influence in their beginnings. Roots of regional American music, Arthur Smith.

@@sandburgmartin7947 You are so right. I remember "Carolina Calling." I am 64, and I used to love to watch the locally produced music shows. Can't get those anymore. Tommy and Billy went for a deep cut here.

@@sandburgmartin7947 you really took me back in time. Beach music and the Shag were popular when I was a teenager around town. Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs played a Christmas party at my work in 1978. He was pretty old by then. They must have played STAY about 6 times that night. 🙂
Love watching Tommy play!.....always having a blast...and Billy is one hell of a talent also!
Tommy Emmanuel is what pure positive energy and good vibes looks like. Amazing duet as well!

I know everybody’s a Tommy fan, but Billy was just as good. Just imagine when he’s Tommy’s age.
You know you've made it when you get on stage with the legendary Tommy...
That’s just a mind blowing performance ❤

Hello 👋 Shelley. How are you doing? Hope you are fine
Tommy used to do this with his older brother Phil you has passed away now, Billy filled Phil’s shoes really great!! If you’ve never seen Tommy and Phil playing guitar boogie woogie then check it out
I give mass credit to anyone willing to pick up a guitar in front of Tommy! Billy is one determined individual and these scenarios will only drive him to be better. If you play half as good as either one you’ll be the life of any party! Inspirational moments right there!

Check out the collaboration between Billy & Bela Fleck
2 premier guitar players who are at the top of their game! Not only the fact that they can play acoustic guitars like that is just ridiculous, but that they can play together and feed off each without any kind of rehearsal is truly insane. Billy's playing is unbelievably clean
Wie geil ist das denn....
