For those of you that missed the note I had put in the description box regarding the woman at the end: 🛑 NOTE - There is no surviving photograph of the Italian Prima donna who went down in the last moments of the sinking, so Lulu White, the famous black owner of New Orlean’s most notorious brothel “Mahogany Hall”, which was at it’s height later on in the 1890’s, has made a special appearance for us to stand in to help portray that final fateful moment.

Drowning, for me, is one of the worst ways to die. I can't imagine the horror that woman felt knowing she was just about to die. RIP🙏 to all that lost their lives on that ship. What a nice cemetery,it's kept up really well. Very interesting story, thanks Ron God Bless.

We just can't begin to imagine the terror they must have felt in those desolate, angry seas, while awaiting their imminent fate. 😞 May they rest in peace.

My God. The man fell into the crack of the sinking ship that cracked in half, the lifeboats that were sucked into the sea as the ship sunk, the woman who knows she will drown... How horrible. The sound effects of your story were excellent - all that wind! The cemetery was very well kept - and then, sadly, the cracked plate of the subject of your story - the Gallier Monument. Thank you for the telling of this story. 🙂

Seriously only one passenger survived, the rest was crew and the captain 👩‍✈️, wow. Another great story Ron, tragic though. RIP ato all that perished.

Just a riveting story, and to think of all of those souls who lost their lives, just traveling from New York to New Orleans! And I agree about the dismay. People would feel when the captain told them, I was lost! The captain obviously thought they deserved to know the truth. In my mind, it was a heroic decision to make. . Blessings to them all 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

That city is pure enchantment! Loved it when we visited there!!

Very sad but informative history..so many shipwrecks and their victims don't get remembered as do the big stories like Titanic..a touching tribute to a great man and the beautiful city of New Orleans.. I have only been there once, but really want to go again..I will visit Royal street and this monument if I do..thank you Ron for all that you do.

I've watched (tried out) a lot of similar channels and I must say I always come back to yours. Everything is perfect. I understand the difficulties one sometimes faces with weather and wind, etc. But you manage to make it work better on your channel than any other channel I've personally watched. If you ever tire of doing this, a lot of people will be sad. Hopefully you will have continued inspiration to provide us with these wonderful and knowledge filled videos. So much gratitude is sent to you, from me, for all your hard work and extensive travels. You are very much appreciated.

The wrought iron porches and columns are so pretty. Vicksburg, MS, has some of that, too.

I've enjoyed this series so much Ron. I live near Baton Rouge now and never really get down to New Orleans anymore, family has either died or moved away, so this was a treat.

When my husband and I first met, we discovered that we both enjoyed dawdling in cemeteries, though he had more reason to like them, since he was from New Orleans. Your choice, here, of St. Louis N° 3 is where he first showed me the local cemeteries, since his grandparents are there. Their spot was one of the many labeled in Greek.

That is the house they use for the LaLaurie house in "American Horror Story." They also used it the new series for "Interview with the Vampire." The real Delphine LaLaurie house is on the corner (you passed it)... every time I go to New Orleans, I stay on Royal. I never knew this was an actual museum you could go in. I will have to check that out when I go back this summer!

A fascinating story Ron from start to finish. The account of the sinking of the Evening Star was riveting , what a scary scene!! They went through terror for hours and then an awful end. You just hate to think of what they endured. Mr. Gallier was an accomplished man and I pray that he and his wife and all the victims of that tragedy are resting peace. Wonderful story. Beautiful cemetery. Thank you. Even today I will not get on a ship. The sea is treacherous and the ships can always fail even if by contaminating illnesses. I have a horrible fear of masses of water and height. Just looking at the drain lid of a pool brings up this fear. I don't know if we reincarnate since the Catholic religion says no but I feel my fears are from a past life. Today's ships look so beautiful but I just can't do🤷🏼👍🏼

Not that I know of. Since it was made it would it’s going to be very hard to find. And I don’t think motivation for treasure, I don’t think it was caring much in the way of value.

Since i started watching your channel, i am so intrigued. I must ask though, respectfully, are you not afraid to be among the dead? Some of the grave yards seems to be kind of lonely and spooky. Please be safe. God bless❤❤

The cemetery is basically a library of books with stories waiting to be uncovered. The names and the dates: with today’s ancestry Internet tools - you can find some amazing history and stories, which I have proven in the last two years many times over. I think a lot of people miss that point

What is there to be afraid of…Its the living, those who can actually inflict harm upon you that should concern one the most. I find walks in the cemetery very peaceful and therapeutic. Excellent video!!

It isn't the dead that you need to be afraid of....it's the living. Cemeteries and graveyards are the most peaceful places.
