As for getting smokes at 18, that's bc Tom is Canadian and up here the legal age is tied to the legal age to purchase alcohol and now cannabis as well, and it's solely a provincial gov responsibility. The Feds have no say. In the province of Alberta, where Tom is from, along w Québec and Manitoba, the legal age is 18. I'm in Ontario, and along w the other 6 provinces, the legal age is 19. I grew up in the border region of Niagara. Niagara Falls bars, clubs, casinos, unclothed ppl clubs (YT friendly🙄), are ALWAYS packed w young Americans. Back 12+ yrs ago when I'd still go out to bars and clubs, Rumors on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls was a favorite. Most nights nearly half the ppl there were American. Every border region experiences this, it's just that Niagara is the largest, and it's only around an hr and a half from Toronto. In Québec where the legal age is 18, they border NY, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Montréal is the popular spot, but it's about an hr or more from the border whereas in Niagara Falls as soon as u cross into Canada, everything is right there. Us Canadians, well, we really love Florida and Arizona, especially in the winter. I can't wait to get a winter getaway place in Florida! Keep up the great work! Love ur channel.

You were shocked at how he is just throwing out all these raw truths. But, that is ONE of the points he is making with this epic song. It has a lot of layers. You SHOULDN"T be shocked if someone does what he did. That's the problem, as a country and society, we are at a point where it's scary to come out and say the truth in public. That isn't The Constitution, or the promise of it. Granted, over history, we have failed many, many groups in this regard, freedom of speech, among others.
