You know it’s bad when In-N-Out Burger that’s never shut down a location in the 80 years they’ve operated says “we have to close this location in LA for the first time in our history country wide because of crime” I respect them for saying what the reason was. These main corporate chains like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and other chains that close in the same few progressive cities never say the reason. It’s always because of the crime.

Great reaction! Just for the record, many cities did defund the police. New York alone cut 1 billion in funding, Baltimore 22 million, Los Angeles 75 million, plus about 20 other major cities. The results have been disastrous for these cities, especially in low income areas. It's scary to me that more people don't know what's happening.

I follow some police pages, and I know of at least three departments in smaller areas that were cut so severely everyone literally quit, leaving the state pd to cover those areas, leaving them overworked, under paid and long response times.

There wasn't enough cops as it was in high crime areas. NOW there's even more crime and even less cops. police in certain cities have been de-funded. $150 million was taken away from Austin, Texas cops then they re-funded when crime shot up. i just talked to SFPD cop and he told me they have been de-funded as well. in a city of close to 900K people, San Francisco, my ex-home city has only 700 cops for 900K people.

Some of these efforts are ongoing today...and some cities have had to reinstate police funding at or above pre-George Floyd protest levels.

But he's sharing some things that aren't true. And that is not because he's doing it intentionally to mislead. It is because he's been misled. For instance, he said twice that the police were never defunded. There were multiple democrat cities that defunded the police, which caused a huge increase in crime in those cities. There was something else he said that wasn't true that was a Democrat false talking point. I can't recall it though. I don't mean to get political when this is not a political channel. But when you hear something that is false it's difficult not to correct it. Especially when it's something very important.

Just a note that there are many cities that have defunded the police with very large cuts and crime is skyrocketing by up to 40% in those areas.

They did take away funding from police here in Minneapolis area. They even cried ehen the violence went up. Murders and thefts and everything else went up then the articles of ehy no police help came.

It's Adam Calhoun. Some police agencies HAVE been defunded as in redirecting their funding to other things like streets lights for example. It is still classified as public safety but not going to police for tools they need or hiring campaigns, etc. Many departments are short handed and can only answer urgent or emergent calls because they haven't the man power to answer less urgent calls. So, in a way, yes, they have been defunded in some areas. Austin, Tx is a good example.

The only reason Tom is controversial is because he freely points out the obvious without the fear of being cancelled. The industry is pissed they can't control him. The people being controlled are pissed he's managed to remain independent. It's a win-win business advantage for Tom.
