Seaver was a very emotional man and wasn't afraid to show it. I will never forgive the Mets for letting the Franchise go.

The way Tom got emotional just by talking about something that happened 35 years earlier. Damn...

I remember this, it was my last day of school of 4th grade. With the Reds getting Seaver, we were sure Cincy was going to make it to 1977 WS.

My personal opinion is that the Mets ownership and front office have never deserved either the players or the fans they've had. Never. People who played and cheered their hearts out for their beloved team only to be disrespected over and over again. It's really a shame.

Gil Hodges, Johnny Murphy, Frank Cashen and Davey Johnson were the rare exception but you’re right, Paul! Terrible leadership when it comes to Mets history indeed! 😡

Hopefully that all changes now with Steve Cohen at the helm.

I never understood why the front office did him this way..they obviously at that time didn't want to win

Even years later after he was well retired he is still emotional and upset about being traded. This is by far the worst decision the mets front office made.

Straight-up labor issue! When the owner calls you communist, especially back then. Grant wanted to set an example of who was in charge. Typical of the war between owners v. players, back then! Man, was that a bad example.....!!!!!!!!

Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Mickey Mantle all played for just one team. Seaver should have also, just so stupid.
