    Beautiful tune and very good playing! That tenor sounds lovely and mellow. Is that model fitted for that string gauge already or did you have to modify it?

    Hi, Great composition and nicely played. I just got hold of a new Ashbury AT 24 tenor guitar partly on your recommendation and your vid's playing it. Very pleased with it. It's a great value instrument. I like the string guage it came with and want to replace them. Any idea what strings they are supplied with or what guages make a good replacement for the originals. I'm playing mainly in Irish tuning EADG ? I contacted Gremlin music who suggested the strings supplied are : 13p 20w 30w and 42w but something tells me that isn't what's on it ? Many thanks

    Thanks very much, congratulations on your new tenor. The gauges I just put on were: 13p 24w 32w 42w. Clifford Essex do a all sorts of gauges for tenor but this time I just went with D'addario phosphor bronze. They don't do a tenor guitar set for this tuning but singles work fine!

    Nice ! Very interesting tuning (in the family of the old "sawmill" tunings) Do you know where it is possible to find "chords and techniques" practice books in this kind of tuning (such as: CGcg, GDgd, AEae... even ADad...) Thank you by advance :-) Regards,

    Tom are the tenor guitar and the banjo tuned the same ?

  • @tomkimbermusic

    @tomkimbermusic

    4 жыл бұрын

    steve hughes yes they are, the standard tuning being GDAE, an octave lower than mandolin/fiddle. You’ll also find people tuning them both CGDA with lighter strings. I generally keep my banjo in GDAE but quite often use the tenor guitar in alternate tunings such as GDGD or GDAD. Hope that helps!
