    Yeah exactly, JRB can definitely be trying to bluff at the pot from BB ( but he is typically a tight player, so not super light ) and dwan called on the button (so in theory has a capped range). So her shove really only has to get passed JRB and if he has AK, shes 40% - really not the worst play ever, but not one I'm making I ain't that brave.

    I'm not advocating for the move, but it looked like JRB was trying to make a move for the pot, and once X amount of players called, that Tom was trying to do the same. And that move is 100% in Tom's wheelhouse. And I'm sure that she thought she'd be going up against 1 other person at the most, with maybe an AK, so her hand would be live. Couldn't have picked a worse time to do it 😂

  • @alistairwillock7266

    @alistairwillock7266

    3 жыл бұрын

    It was a really daring attempt at a re-squeeze, but had two fatal flaws: 1/ not enough blocking - you _really_ want an Ace if you're going to pull that one, preferably A5s 2/ She didn't close the action and - worse yet - the player left to act had previously taken an aggressive action. Even worse than that, JRB had been stepping carefully with Kenney, Salomon and Dwan at the table, so you have to tighten the opening range that you assign to him accordingly. I tried that exact move once in a very similar spot... and ended up being against AA and KK... and scooped by making both a straight and a flush. I thanked the poker gods, and never tried it again. I had A5s though, and as somone put it, that's the magic hand.

    This is the perfect video to show beginners on how to play based on the fact these folks play such high stakes and know what they are doing. Just tell your beginner to do most of what happened here. Raise UTG with low suited connectors. Short handed always call with AJ and QQ. Always limp with Q 10 suited after UTG raise a 2 limpers. After a cold 3 bet squeeze followed by a back-raise, always shove without a premium hand and no fold equity. After taking in all those lessons, invite them to your home game.
