Jones is just a mid heavyweight until he beats people like Pav and Asp

I agree, I don’t think OAP stipe poses near as much of a challenge to jones as those two

@@Kierchohow do you feel about Mohammed Usman as sort of the dark horse of the division?

Pavlovich is a glorified Ngannou 1.5, Jones could easily weather that storm and bring him down with his wrestling and submit him, Like unless Pav goes and trains with the Dagestani’s I don’t see any way he could beat Jon, Aspinall is a more interesting case but Jones could very well (and easily) use the Oblique Leg Kick on Aspinall’s knee

Smart Asp is going to dominate the division.

No, you’re right. Jones is the GOAT. That’s for sure. But my standpoint is as a HEAVYWEIGHT. Which jones has only had one recent fight in. So to station him as a true goat of that heavyweight division I think he needs to fight the likes of Tom aspinall rather than an Old stipe miocic. (In my opinion)

@Kierchov I see your point. But here's my point; people will always come up with etra reasons to why Jon need to beat someone else to be the "true goat" if Jon listen to this, he will be fighting in diapers or end up like Tony Ferguson. The truth is, Stipe may be old, but he has a better resume than Tom. Jon fighting Tom, it doesn't really add much weight to his name. Tom hasn't fought a top 5 fighter. He tried fighting Blades, but that didn't go well. Also, thinking Tom could beat Jon is almost laughable, he's not going to outwreslte Jon, or submit him. Does anyone here actually believe Tom is going to outstrike Jon? Really? Tom looks great against low ranking opponents. P4P He doesn't have the skills to beat Jon. This reminds me of the time people believed Jonny Walker was the guy to defeat Jon.

@@SimbaM2kufu I completely understand your standpoint. And you could be right, it’s all speculation at this stage, but I think a lot of people underestimate Tom in that fight, his speed and power and size advantage would be a problem for jones I believe, and aspinall is good on the ground, so jones wouldn’t have anywhere near as much success as he had with ciryl gane in regards to wrestling, he wouldn’t have to “out wrestle” jones, he would only have to nullify jones’ wrestling. And remember, dominick Reyes and gustaffson have jones massive problems and in my opinion both of those men beat jones. Whether jones was slacking at the time or whatever the excuse is, he struggles against taller opponents it would seem. Does Tom compare to jones in terms of technicality of striking, no, but I believe he has a really good chance of putting a lot of pressure on jones and TKOing him, in regards to the fighting in nappies point, I understand that but he is the one who decided to come back and try cementing his legacy with the heavyweight division. I think it’s a closer fight than you realise, but we will see, or maybe we won’t 😅. Seeing Tom fight pavlovich will be an interesting indication. Come and comment back one day if/when Tom and jones fight and say you told me so or the opposite 😂

Haha, I hear you bro. BUT I think of how much he struggled with dominick Reyes, and Gustaffson and I think Tom could have the Kryptonite with how big and fast he is. Who knows though you could be right.
