TOKYO WEEK IN MY LIFE | library cafe, odaiba hydrangeas, campus & cleaning up ☕️

Tokyo is really starting to feel like summer these days 😭 I already miss the gentle warmth of spring when the cherry blossoms were in bloom, but the vibrant colors of the hydrangeas that are blooming now is making June okay 💕
In this week in my life video, I take you to see the flowers in Odaiba, to my school's campus to study, shopping and going to a library cafe in Ikebukuro, and cleaning up around my apartment 🥳 I wasn't planning on filming one this week, but since I had some plans lined up I thought it would be fun 😇
How is your guys' June going? As I type this, I still have barely started on my term paper due this weekend. So I'm going to switch gears into full research mode now!!!
Also, this video is a lot longer than usual!! Not sure how that happened 💀 But....it's okay....just takes longer for me to edit 😅

Ahh, the glorious days of student life when you could get up at 11AM 🙂 Thanks for the video! I love videos like this. So relaxing to watch. If any gamers are watching this, Persona 3's fictional city of Iwatodai is based on Odaiba. 4:55 should look familiar, as it's the basis for the Paulownia Mall 🙂

Hello! (long text lol) I just wanted to say I found your blogs right before submitting papers for a Japan scholarship. It was something I wanted to do since like... 6 years ago, but suddenly got surgery the week before the due date and that messed me up... I lost all the confidence I had and made me really afraid of being alone, and didn't want to submit the documents. But then I saw your blogs about studying for your Master and these cozy days... it made me realize that yeah, Japan was the place I wanted to be, and submitted the documents anyways hahaha... thank you! Keep the good work! :)

14:45 - maybe a bit random, but here is a comment on the AC thing for someone who lives in eternal hotness. I live in Southeast Asia where it is summer almost every day (31 - 34 degrees celsius) and sometimes humid with rain. From what I see, older people usually just use fans. Some open the AC only at night or open it for 30 minutes then close it for hours - reopening when it gets hot again. The AC can go running up to 5-6 hours total for scorching hot days though (for middle-class people, it makes electricity bills soar HIGH). I wonder how it is in Japan - it might not be fit for the summer weather there 😆 Also great video and adorable outfits again!! Keep up the great editing! (and yes, white-haired-anime-men supremacy 😔✊)

Wow good job surviving eternal hotness 😭 I think I could survive a few more degrees if my apartment was better ventilated, but hot air tends to just sit in here 😫 I already gave up and now my ac is on all day 😂 But I imagine the bill is a bit cheaper here since it’s pretty common among younger people in Japan! And thank youu 🥺🙏 my white hair anime men mentally support me

Hey Allison :) I'm a new subscriber. I recently just discovered your channel because of your Nihongo study videos. I've been studying Japanese on and off for an embarrassingly long time as well. I agree with your advice on that video, and gained a lot of useful info too. I'm definitely going to use Wanikani... I continued watching on your videos and found myself binge watching your vlogs this past week. It was a stressful week because there were a lot of activities in Japanese class, and I had to deliver a speech in Japanese too. But watching your videos made me feel relaxed and happy, it's like I've known you for a long time. It might be because I see my future self in you. I'm studying Japanese because I'll be working in Japan, hopefully I'll be moving before the year ends. Being single, I also look forward to being independent and doing my own thing in Japan during my free time. I get a sneak peek of that because of your videos. I love your energy and personality! Glad to have found your channel :) Hope someday you can talk about confidence (or lack thereof) in speaking Japanese, or how to cope with comparing my Japanese level with other people, and battling perfectionism too.

Woww Japanese speeches are the worst for me too 😆 Good job!! And thanks so much for watching, I'm glad you enjoy it 🥺 Being independent in Japan is great to me 💕 You'll definitely be able to experience it too one day! And thank you for the ideas, it's definitely something I struggled with a lot before, I'll have to talk about it 😳

That library cafe looked so cool. Also did you know that hydrangea flowers change their colors based on the pH level of the soil? That is why they can change color over the years. Good luck on your papers!

Alison you mentioned doing interviews, are these professors or people in industry that you interview for course credits? Since you are studying in English would these people also be proficient in English or do you have to speak Japanese?
