Nice to meet you, I'm Allison! I am currently working full-time in Tokyo at a Japanese company and used to be an English teacher and went to grad school at the University of Tokyo. 😇
I post videos about my life working here in Japan, learning Japanese, and more Japan-related content almost every week 🌸
Please follow me on Instagram too if you haven't! I post stories most days...sometimes too many 😈 I also have a Twitter 💕

ive just come back from 2 weeks in Tokyo and I didn't see 1 cherry blossom in bloom. was your video from a few days before you filmed it?
what’s the name of the hotel?
Very beautiful : you in kimono and whole video, actually. My only problem in Japan was: I had a million impressions and experience but no one around to share all that.People don't look at each other and don't talk to you, except Customer service.I was Alone also.Thank you very much.
God you are so boring
hey! I'm taking a trip with a friend to Tokyo in mid-late July, do you have any recommendations on things to do?
As a Japanese person, I hate tattoos. It's just intimidating. Even if it expresses one's beliefs, others cannot understand it. I think there are other ways to express your beliefs. It may be welcomed by some young people who are easily swayed by trends, but I don't think it will be welcomed by people in positions of status.
Thanks for introducing all those great apps. My favourite app is Todaii Easy Japanese. It helps me enhance my reading skill a lot. Highly recommend it to anyone learning Japanese.
What’s Japan like towards mid September? We’re thinking of visiting but worried about typhoon season 😵💫
I have some advice for all foreigners. “When you enter the town, obey the town.” Please make an effort to thoroughly understand the Japanese language, Japanese laws, Japanese customs, and Japanese manners. Please come to Japan with the promise that you will not bring the ideas of your home country into Japan.
Coffee ☕ and cake looks dangerous ❤
Im going to go in August 😱😱 I hope I can survive
May I ask which official website I can find the festival dates and its location? I tried to check but each source has different dates
Hello Allison, your videos are super informative and great to watch. I’m trying to plan a trip however I have one obstacle I need clarifying, would you know if and what the Zika situation is in Japan. I’m reading mixed information. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you :)
Many Westerners try to immigrate to Japan without being able to speak Japanese and fail. It is impossible to adapt to Japanese society without speaking Japanese. If you don't master Japanese to the level of everyday conversation, you won't be able to join the local community or Japanese community, and you'll likely end up isolated or isolated in a group of foreigners. As a result, they find it difficult to stay in Japan and end up returning to their home country. That's why you need to think about immigrating with the determination to abide by Japanese rules and manners even more than Japanese people. Conversely, when Japanese people live overseas, it is important to use the local language and follow local rules.
Cute doggies! Glad to hear this one wasn't sketchy. I haven't gone to any as I never know how ethical they are with the dogs treatment. Why not a cat? Your space is plenty for a sweet cat. They're a bit more independent, and sleep for half the day. I may be biased though as a current cat owner😂 I still love dogs and grew up with one though so I understand!
Thank you for making this video. Very helpful information.
I just want to comment that I passed you in Inokashira Park, and wanted to say hi, but there were too many people! Viewer residing in Japan too 😊❤ Good to see that you had a great time!
The webtoons are pretty awesome
Thanks for this video. I live in Washington and have two Yaezakura in my front yard and never knew why they bloomed so late!
If you get the mens sized items you will most likely get a size that fits you if your not Asian.
Oh Allison, glad to see you're feeling better, nothing worse than losing your voice.
What is thank you money ?
I spy gojo 😍
Wow I've never been to Japan nor am I some Japanese culture vulture, but I love it already, silence is golden.
As I've learned, never go anywhere in Japan on a Sundau. That's the one everyone has free so they go everywhere. Hope your voice got better babe.
Sundays really are awful in popular areas 🥲 thanks 🙏
Where do you recommend to apply for apartments that are friendly to foreigners?
Does it matter what your bachelors degree is in ? Or do you just need one ?
I like your videos very much.
thank you for sharing, please take care of yourself. maybe it's because I live near Washington DC but I think I'm a lot less hype about sakura than most people seem to be lol.
Hope you feel better soon! Allergies are kicking my butt back here in the states. Hoping I feel better for my trip to Kyoto & Kanazawa in May.
Headed in June. Rains not an issue to a Scot 😂
Im sick right now too. Currently resting up at a ryokan in Kyoto. Hoping to catch the blossom at Hirosaki when my itinerary takes me up to Aomori on the 27th. I know they just past their peak viewing period. Hope I don't completely miss out.
Aoyama cemetery was always a good place for cherry blossoms....but it can get crowded also.
I thought of you when I saw there was a Conan collab at Uniqlo! :)
🕵️🕵️🕵️🕵️
So beautiful! Definitely worth the wait to see the gorgeous blossoms. Lovely spring flowers, cute dogs! Hope your throat is better!
Thank you so much!
take care Allison!! love the cherry blossoms and your vlog 🤩😍!! ALOHA!
Another thing about traveling Japan... I notice a lot of travels go everywhere, all at once, in a span of a week or 2... Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Hiroshima, Sapporo, etc. I always found this odd... Like, you are going there for vacation, for something new and relaxing and fun, and instead you will be racing to catch this train and that train; it will be crowded and difficult, and probably hot because you chose JULY to go! Why not a week or 2 weeks in Tokyo only? And then next trip/next time visit Osaka, Kyoto, Nara? And then third trip, 3 years later, take a train from Tokyo to Hiroshima, then back to Tokyo for flight? This seems the better option to me. I could not imagine trying to do many cities in one go like I read about in travel blogs, unless it's like Osaka to Kyoto. My dream trip is Tokyo one year for 1 week. Save a few years, and 5 years later go to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara by train for 2 weeks. Then another 5 years go to either Hiroshima or Fukuoka for 1 week, by train. And then MAYBE Sapporo, on a completely different other trip.
10:10 swan panic😇
Joyful hanami at Inokashira park that is located nearby my old house in my children days. Very nostalgic for me
❤️❤️
Allergies?
that too 🥺
Love that park! Maybe a tad crowded however 😬
just a bit :(
I got that Uniqlo bag in black at the Orlando location to take on my upcoming trip to Japan! Love your vlogs.
it is the ultimate bag 🥰
I'm planning to head to Tokyo in August and was wondering if you have any recommendations of what to do for the month and any recommendations for making videos there or anything like that
August will be way way way too hot and humid!! 😵😵Please trust me!!! Change to late September or October if you can, at all your might!!!!!!🙏🙏
