TOKYO APARTMENT TOUR 2021 🗼 grad student | modern & cute
AT LAST I bring to you guys my central Tokyo APARTMENT TOUR! 🥳🥳 I've been living here for half a year now and I've been dying to make this video. I keep changing things so I put it off, but I decided it will never really be done, so may as well film it now 😂 Actually, even since I filmed this video a few days ago I've already made changes lol 💀
Since I live within the Yamanote line, I'm calling this central, but I don't live in Shibuya or anything like that lol my rent would be double 😂I quite like it overall, and I think it's a good place to live out my grad student years hehe. I've also dreamed of decorating an apartment myself from the ground up for the first time, so I'm quite happy with how cute and feminine I've been able to make it!
Please like, comment, and subscribe!! It means so much to me!! 🥺

Your apartment is the most efficient, practical, and cute I have ever seen!!
okay first I gotta say, love that dress on you, so cute!! and I love how everything is so mini and functional, kinda like Tetris lol! But ahh your place is sooo cute and you were so resourceful in creating those three areas in your room :O also I feel like the rent isn’t too bad! I mean it’s def not cheap, but not as ridiculous as rent in NYC or SF! I’d say that’s pretty good :)

wow your place is adorable! thank you for showing an in depth perspective~ your interior decorating is top notch..! (pastel + magical girls = s tier aesthetic) can really tell how much effort your put into it~ and also the furniture and remodeling make it look very modern/new! major japanese apartment goals... heck, apartment goals in general! i especially love those little narrow roll out shelves and your desk+bed+living room area! taking down some notes hehe. just wanted to say your videos really inspire me to want to try doing a year alt program (or similar), thank you for the content!!

I think you should diy the little bedroom table/seat! maybe you can get some pink felt you can staple on it or something? and you can paint the table side! this is a great video I really like your vibe 🌸
Such a cute apartment and as neat as a pin! Makes me want to declutter my own space 😊

I like the apartment. Either way you are renting your own apartment in Tokyo, you are living many people's dream!
80.000 yen in yamanote line for 22sqm, separate modern bathroom with that automatic bathroom/toilet panels..you're lucky! most of the apartment i found in that range price is only offer 20-23sqm with standard bathroom..some have separate bathroom but not comes with automatic panels..
Wow!!! Nice video! By showing around it seemed much bigger, looks amazing 😊💕
Hi Allison! I'm moving to Nagoya as faculty/ABD from the US next month and am so glad to have found your channel. I feel like there's a lot I can plan for, even in Nagoya, thanks to the details of your video. Thanks so much and ganbatte ne! --Kay

Ngl I cliched because I saw kermit😂Loved the video your place is so nice and cute, small but you utilized the space really well!👏🏼🏡
Hey, love the video. Heads up if you decide to move, a lot of fridges are designed so that the direction that the fridge door opens can be swapped. At least the ones in the US, but from the looks of it, yours can be too.

You could possibly get a small table that fits over the ottoman or a foldable table ❤
Those oils right next to the burners spook me.
In France we can buy small table you can lift and eat on. They're not expensive, about 100€ and really worth the price. Some of my friends have them in different sizes and they love them. They're multifunctional.

It's a random one from Rakuten! Actually I wanted the Nitori one but it was out of stock at the time :( I won't link you to mine though because honestly it was incredibly hard to build so I wouldn't recommend it 😂
Coziest apartment I've seen thus far, in Tokyo.
Haha where I live in Australia, a studio apartment is currently $300-$400 a week...
Cute apartment! I think that's a good price already

thank you!! yeah I am pretty happy with it!!
日本は湿気が多いので、トイレ、バスをきれいに保つには、バストイレ別は重要ですよね。わかります。 山手線の駅まで10分で、大学まで近いなら、とても良いと思います。
Price sounds amazing to me! I have a similar sized studio in the outskirts of London for around $1000 USD/month...
15:25 you can paint it over if you dont like the color :D
800 or 650, that is sooo cheap omg I want to move to Japan so badly!
You can hang some keychains or even better plushie keychains on the wall :)
@AllisoninTokyo

aww that would be cute 🥺
Thank you for giving us this tour though I see you still live very American as I live only in a 600 square foot place and so hard to stay a minimalist but my goal is to live Japanese style
I love it.. 😘😘😘😘
I know I am late you could get a tv dinner tray or get another ottoman
For a studio, if small, it’s a good price, in a capital city.
Would you recommend a young single woman living in Kyoto or Osaka? Or is Tokyo better
Maybe you can use a small foldable table over the ottoman
Very nice apartment! Did you have any issue moving your consoles and electronics to another country?

Have you tried contact paper on your tabletop?
I had no idea you couldn't use soap in some of the toilet sinks... Is that common?
@AllisoninTokyo
3 жыл бұрын
Okay now that I think about it I’m not sure 😂 Someone told me not to because it would damage something somehow...Honestly I have no idea, I tried to google it but can’t find anything 😩 I’m not really into the idea of these sinks anyway so I don’t really want to use it 😅

how much cost one mounth you rent house
For a big table in front of the sofa, maybe try a wall-mounted fold-down table that would be as long as the sofa so guests can be seated there as well for a meal. the table should fold down right over the little table already there. When folded back up on the wall, the underside could look like a piece of art on the wall. To change the looks of the little cubicle table, use contact paper and felt- you can make it look however you want. When I used to live in thin-walled apartments, I discovered that hanging a down quilt on the wall(s) where the most noise came from actually made it soundproof. Decorative styrofoam can also be used to deaden noise coming through the walls. The more material used, the more noise is muffled- use rugs and drapes, throws and pillows where ever possible, Peace and quiet make a huge difference. Use headphones if your games/TV cause noise problems for other tenants. Love your sensible ideas and space usage,- especially the single bed in a studio.

Hello, why do you not recomend women living on a first floor?
@AllisoninTokyo
3 жыл бұрын
Well other than the normal reasons (crime, bugs, flooding, etc), I've heard way too many horror stories here about women being stalked to their house or having their underwear stolen when they hang it outside on the balcony to dry. And really just having a balcony door on the first floor makes me uneasy personally 😅 My landlord actually only rents out their first floor rooms to men for this reason. Of course it's all up to you!

I know right 😅 Japan is pretty safe but there’s still stuff like this so I’d rather not take the chance! I was forced to live on the first floor before in the countryside which was fine though, really just the city where you gotta be careful 😰 Thank you!! 💕🥺 My hobby is organizing it 😂

@@AllisoninTokyo What bad experiences have you had with bugs in Tokyo or on first-floor apartments? I'm from Florida as well so I'm sure you've seen palmeto bugs around but I'm wondering how that compares to Japan if its better or worse.
For German standards this apartment is very very veryyyy expensive 😭
Why would you not recommend a woman to get an apartment on ground level? Privacy concerns?
@AllisoninTokyo
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah basically people seeing into your window, potential stalkers being able to break in, and panty thieves if you hang your laundry outside 😬😬
