Born in 1981 , I loved this show- would watch it at my babysitters. Thought Sam was human 🙂

I like this show because it actually teaches some life skills and life lessons in ways, how to interact with ppl, etc Even though it's a fantasy show, it teaches about real life, i.e. having a job, having to do good work, etc....... something not seen much in kids' shows today

Ahh, early Nickelodeon. This followed Pinwheel! and was a staple of my 80s childhood. So many memories wrapped up here. I know the actor that played Jodie passed away not too long ago, but im curious about the rest of the cast.

THIS WAS NICKELODEON'S FIRST SHOW THAT CAME FROM TORONTO THE DISNEY'S CHANNEL FIRST SHOW TORONTO WAS UNDER THE UMBRELLA TREE TODAY'S SPECIAL HAD CHARACTERS LIKE JODIE, SAM THE NIGHT WATCH MAN , MUFFY THE RAT, AND JEFF.

When are they going to put this show on dvd or at least on some streaming service?

Hope you can upload the whole series. It was one of my favorites back then.

It was definitely on Nickelodeon, that's how I saw it as a kid. Not sure if it was after Pinwheel, but probably.

@@TodaysSpecialFandom I also would watch it on Nickelodeon. This and Pinwheel were the two shows for Preschoolers. Nick Junior started in 1988. They still had these two shows but would be displaced by Maya the Bee, David the Gnome, the Little Koala, Eureka's Castle, the Elephant Show, Fred Penner's Place, the Noozles, Grimm's Fairytales and the Lil Bits. Ah memories watching these before it switched to Double Dare, You Can't to that on Television, Finders Keepers and Nick Rocks.

This is the 1st time (of all the other times) Jeff has taken off his hat @ 4:06.

Jodie didn't have her pink jumpsuit in this episode.

Did Sharon Lois and bram from the elephant show appear on this show in a few episodes
