    Born in 78, I’m high as a kite watching this and realizing, I know the words and remember the songs and characters! I remember where I was in time. I’m suddenly feeling 4’years old, and start to think and somehow remember feelings and sights as if you were there again. Very eeeeRy. 2/23

    True. Probably cause they didn't grow up in the 80s.. but I never grew up in the 1920s or in egyptian times, but I can still appreciate culture from those times and more as well. Shrugs. Maybe I'm getting too deep lol

    I remember watching this if i ever stayed home sick when I was little, and my mom (who recently passed away) would bring me 7-Up and Saltines. Sigh. Where does the time go?

    It's crazy how these things trigger memories from years ago. My little sister just passed away today at age 35 and this was her favorite show when she was little. I thought I'd be a little closer to her watching this. Bittersweet for sure. Couldn't agree more with wondering where the time went. Thankful we have these things to spark those happy memories from our past. Love you sis.

    I'm almost 50 and the theme song popped up in my head. This took me all the way back to my childhood. This era was the best hands down!

    I haven't watched this since the 80's but once it started everything from the store, characters, music, clothes, and vibe all are so familiar like an old friend. I miss those innocent days of sitting in front of a tube tv in the living room, eating some snacks, and totally invested in the show. Good times.

    Born and partly raised in St. Croix, I remember when HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax were the only three movie channels and the rest were regular channels. Some/most of kid shows are/were from Britian. I didn't know Today's Special was filmed/produced in Canada.

    Liz Jamar ok i get it...nickelodeon wasnt even z thingbin canada till early 90s...so weird for me to associate this show with nickelodeon. In Canada, this was on a channel called TVO (Television Ontario)..Seeing as this is a Canadian (Torontonian) show, I assune TVO was the original platform..I had no idea this was ever aired in the US.

    This show brings out the nostalgic greatness about this time in history. The rare glimpses you get outside of what buildings and infrastructure looked like back then and the coziness of these places on the inside.

    I’ve had this vague memory of a kids show that took place in a department store at night and something to do with a conveyor belt. For 25 years it’s bugged me since I couldn’t figure out what I was remembering. IT WAS THIS!!!

    That opening that appeared at the beginning of each episode I had stuck in my head since childhood but I couldn’t remember for the life of me what the name of the show was. My brother and I remember watching Nickelodeon all the time. 321 Contact, The Bloodhound Gang, Danger Mouse, Mr. Wizard’s World, You Can’t Do That On Television, Count Duckula, Double Dare, Inspector Gadget and this one. Great memories.

    Blast from the past. I too watched this on Nickelodeon. By the mid 80s I was over it. Lol. However, Jeff Hyslop was quite the dancer and choreographer. He choreographed every episode for all the characters including "blocking" and where the puppet characters would be placed in relation to a dance. Genius!!

    So nostalgic! I often think of Jeff the mannequin and Muffy Mouse, and no one know what I am talking about. I would watch this, Pinwheel and Camp Nickelodeon played Donna Reed and Dennis the Menace, before it went off the air at 7pm, then A&E came on. I am 45, and it it hard to find the shows I watched when I was little.

    The Woman who played Jodie,She passed away on Monday,January, 15th, 2024....I remember having a small crush on that Mocha Woman when I was like 8..she had a great smile and personality. She will be missed, but not forgotten. 😢

    Nickelodeon was the ish!!!! Off to a great start and when the 90s got here it couldn't be touched! Loved being a kids in the 80s and growing up in the 90s!!!!!

    on my half days of kindergarten and my papi would pick me up from school. once home, he would make my lunch and sit at the counter with me while i watched my fav show Today's Special. I love you dad!

    40 years old, and still remember the show to this day! Jeff the manikin who came to life thanks two Muffy‘s magic spell, Jody, Sam Crenshaw, and Muffy the Magic Mouse who speaks in rhymes. Let’s not forget TXL, Sam’s talking computer friend.

    Born in 81 myself and yes absolutely. Isn't it heartbreaking how shows like this seem so out of place in today's world? Things got so warped and vapid and we never saw it coming until it was too late.......

    The simple innocence of the 80's. Wish my kids had stuff like this to watch. I screen most of their crap now. Also noticed that the full episode is about 29 mins which means there was only one minute of commercials. ONE MINUTE!
