TJ's Tuna Burgers Recipe -- How to Make TJ's Tuna Burgers with Falafel Mix

Hey Chile-Heads! This week I share with you one of my favorite recipes I've developed: I call it TJ's Tuna Burgers. I named it this after using the delicious falafel mix from Trader Joe's. This falafel mix adds so much depth of flavor in these tuna burgers! They're hearty, savory, and nutritious; they're so easy to freeze too and save for later. TJ’s Tuna Burgers
Ingredients:
3 tbsp olive oil
Two 5 oz cans tuna, drained
¼ cup mayonnaise
One egg
Dash of worcestershire Sauce
Dash of hot pepper sauce
½ tsp dill weed
2 tbsp chili sauce (I use Chinese garlic chili sauce) see link below (www.target.com/p/huy-fong-chi...)
½ cup Trader Joe’s falafel mix (you can also use chickpea flour)
½ cup panko bread crumbs
⅛ tsp black pepper
⅓ cup diced onion
¼ cup diced celery
¼ cup diced bell pepper (any color)
Sriracha Mayo:
¼ cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp chili sauce
Directions:
Add 2 tbsp olive oil to a medium saucepan. Saute ⅓ cup minced onion, ¼ cup minced celery and ¼ cup bell pepper until soft. Set aside to cool. Combine two 5 oz cans of drained tuna, one egg, ¼ cup mayonnaise, a dash of worcestershire sauce, a dash of hot pepper sauce, ½ tsp dill weed, and 2 tbsp chili sauce in a large bowl. After celery, onion and pepper have cooled, add to the tuna mixture along with ½ cup Trader Joe’s falafel mix, ½ cup panko bread crumbs, ⅛ tsp black pepper, and ¼ tsp salt. Mix to combine. Shape into 4 tuna burgers. Refrigerate for approximately 30 minutes to set up. Cook on a cast iron pan for best results. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Serve with whole wheat buns and any toppings desired.
Note: the original recipe called for one 5 oz can of tuna. I found that it wasn’t enough. You can adjust to your liking.

    I was going to guess burgers from Tijuana, so, thank you for the Trader Joe's Burgers. I also thought of tuna tacos or fish tacos. Yummy and healthy. Thank you.
