Tipping a Waitress $200 | Give Back Films

Ойын-сауық

We were so happy to meet this incredible Mother of two, and especially happy to help her out a little bit. Next time you're at a restaurant, tip a little more than you normally would!
We hope that by putting these videos on KZread, some of you are inspired to go out and do the same type of things.
New video every Monday!

Why is a KZread channel based on love, gift and generosity spoiled by so many hateful and rude comments ? Are people jealous to see some happiness ? They must have a terrible life... I pity them. Like, really.

I don't know how this channel really works - maybe donate the ad revenues - but ... if you look at the number of views (2M), and the money paid (200$), it's really weird to see this as an act of love and generosity. By producing this video they earned about 2-4k US-$ and spent about 200$ + maybe 200$ of time and other costs producing this video? So is this business or "love"? Helping other people is great, but profiting with more than 1600$ doing this, seems weird...

This is really cool, waiters are so under appreciated in society today and make dirt money without tips. To make it worse, some restaurants take a portion of the tips.

To be honest, everyone does good deeds with some ulterior motive, psychological analysis proves that even those that volunteer for charities do it because it makes them feel good. Either way people fail to see the main point. So many other KZreadrs (no offense I love them) sit in their rooms and talk to a camera for views, these guys are actually helping people for views, surely thats a better cause. Money is still money.

Ms Visio Welcome to America, see the problem is not that the people don't tip enough, the problem is that people in america have to tip because if the restaurants just gave a little bit more (like in allot of europian countries) then tipping wouldn't even be necesarry, you now something is wrong with a country when people in Horica need tipping to survive.

As a Waiter: You have no idea how much something like that means. I work in Seattle now thankfully. Where they can't do that whole cut wage thing assuming tips will make up for it. But I started out in Boise Idaho making 3.75 an hour. Stupidest law in the world: You work five times as hard as a Cashier EVER would and because of that law that allows tips to be considered your wage, you end up making on average 8-12 dollars an hour, because people in those regions also have less money and tip far less. I knew a Jimmy John's Delivery driver who made more than me because they paid him 7.25 and he got tips but didn't have to report them because he wasn't registered as a tipped employee. Which is quite frankly, idiotic. That 200 dollars might have allowed her to buy her kid good food and new clothing.

They are changing lives. Stop harassing and putting them down because you are to lazy and selfish to do this yourself. People make me sick. Seriously what you guys do is changing lives. I've been a server at three different restaurants in the U.S. and YES, the wage is $2.13 an hour. It's a technical loophole because they figure you'll make triple minimum wage in tips if you "do a good enough job," but that's not how it works. You can be the nicest, fastest, most skilled server in the business and you can still get nothing. People will leave small tips or no tips for no discernible reason, and it's not like you can chase them out the door and demand to know why. Living on minimum wage in this country is difficult, but living on a server's wage is literally impossible. When I worked at a local diner the traffic was so varied it was insane. Some nights I would bring home $100.00+ in tips...and some nights I would barely make $30.00.

The american system were you can legally pay somebody $2 an hour is floored, people not paying tips shouldn't be the ones who are seen as the bad people, the owner of the restaurant should be the person who is responsible to pay there staff properly so customers can enjoy their meal for the price specified instead of the actual price including tip, this is a problem the government has created by not having a minimum wage which would require no tip for the waiter/waitress to earn enough. I'm from the UK and there is a minimum wage and if you don't tip it's not really frowned upon.

tip paying jobs are subject to lower hourly wages :( I used to be a waiter. Sometimes you have to "pool" your tips as well, so even if you get large tips, you split it evenly among everyone. It's a very tough and competitive job, so for them to make sure she gets that 200 clean is very awesome :-D I'd love to spread your guys vision! Make a chapter in my area out here, giving back!!

Hey everyone, i'm a (relatively lol) poor college kid who is blessed with a family. My father has money, so although I don't have much to my name, I never have to worry about financial issues. I do work, and because I attend a large school, I see many homeless people on campus. Some of them are very polite to me, others scowl. While I do have my concerns about giving back to shady individuals, I also value what being selfless stands for, and its a reminder to me to stay humble and grateful, to work hard and think of others. I was wondering if anyone had some advice or things such as how to identify those who really need help as opposed to those who may be trying to dupe people? That and any kind of other advise is welcome. Thank you!

Dee Jay That was inspirational! My brother and I can totally relate to what you are talking about. It's sad when we can't determine on who sincerely needs the help and the ones that dupe people. We've questioned it as my brother a Veteran volunteers his time for organizations such as 'Toys for Tots' and "The Angel Tree". But we grew up extremely poor so in the end we just give no matter our discrepancy because it's the children who eventually pay the price if we don't. Thanks for sharing and God bless!

Being a waitress/waiter in general doesn't pay well. The most you'll ever get is $5. They're dependent on what they get in tips. Sometimes they could get $10 a night or $50 (if you do the dinner hour). It's not bad if the customers tip. I used to be a waitress. You smile and treat the customers with respect...and then they don't tip you and you become upset because you work hard. Always tip...unless the waiter/waitress is being a prick.
