When I was homeless a church group in a car stopped in front of a bus stop where I was sitting to get out of the heavy rain during that day.A priest got out of his car and and said the Lord works in mysterious ways and handed me a visa $100 dollar gift card.I used that money to clean my self up with new clothing,bus money ,a disposable phone and a sunday newspaper.I looked in the job section and called got the address and applied.I got hired the next day..this happened 7 years ago and since then I have been employed at this great company and I get paid $11.33 per hour/55 hours a week,time and a half for overtime! If it wasn't for those good people I would be rotting in the streets..

So true. I have always found the more I give the more I seem to receive. Leading to an ability to give more. My dad is a businessman who’s done well in life having started very poor so he tends to give a lot too as he understands what it’s like to not have much. It’s the same for him, he is kind to others and being from an Islamic family we believe god is being kind to us in return.

Vi I would disagree. I'm sorry if it sounds like boasting or bragging but I'm just stating a fact. As a family we give. My dad more than the rest of us but he has more to give charity's and those less fortunate. We are wealthy if speaking in terms of material things and money. One could argue that we didn't get rich by giving money away but it certainly hasn't stopped us getting rich or made us poor. In fact I can give you an example of how giving helped us. I met 2 brothers in a bad situation . I gave them a place to live and fed them them out of my own pocket and their work experience meant I could promise them both a job when our business expanded. When they started work it turned out we could leave our business in their capable hands freeing me up to concentrate on other things. They went on to rent a house from me which means I have stable tenants whose rent will pay the mortgage on another property that I'll also be able to rent out. If that not an example of me giving something ( with no expectations ) resulting in me getting richer then I don't know what is. This was 8 years ago and they are still with us. They are happy with their employer and landlord, I am happy with my tenants and staff members.

i have been doing acts of kindness since i was stationed in Japan in 1992 when ever i could i gave it forward and 99 percent of the time they never knew who did it. i iliked it better that way. whether it is a family of 4 at a coffee shop a meal for a vet or homeless i love to pass it forward for my father not for anyone one else. it is comforting feeling.

Just help a waitress every now and then (while also getting 2 million views making a video about it...which made him more money by far then he gave the waitress) and its all good....these people are so easily fooled....

It’s great to be generous and help other’s. Share your blessings without trying to receive recognition for what you are able to give. I personally feel anonymous gifts and tips are a much bigger surprise and blessing than recording someone and their reaction so you can post it on KZread to show everyone the good deed you just did.

We filmed a couple of videos to help show people's reactions to receiving these gifts, and to encourage each person to find ways in which they could be generous - without the need to record it :)

So many people think they’re going to go to heaven for going to church every Sunday, not caring about what they do every Monday, but what most people don’t know, or at least seem not to know, is that faith isn’t about going to church on Sunday, it’s about the way you live your life, the way you treat other people according to the gospel of Christ. As a gay man, and as a man of great faith and love, for Jesus Christ, you can’t even begin to imagine the internal conflict, and the hardships that I faced in the form of prejudice and homophobia. I assure you, I can lead an honourable and noble life as an openly gay man in a 31 year long monogamous marriage, just as much is anybody else. But I digress, it’s just so wonderful to see a video, that shows people following Christ’s teachings, by helping those less fortunate. I wish so much I had the money to do that, but since I don’t (Long story, because of Crohn’s disease and many other illnesses, I was forced to live on permanent long-term disability since I was 46, not exactly a windfall, but barely enough to survive, but I’m not complaining, I’m still alive, and that’s the greatest gift I could ever ask for) do the best I can do is treat everybody with love and kindness, from the homeless person begging for money on the street, up to the wealthiest people I know, because in gods eyes, we are all exactly the same, worthy of the same rights, the same love, the same joy. I know I’m not perfect, and I know I’ve sinned more times than I’m willing to admit, but I will never stop trying to be a better person by following the teachings of Jesus Christ, my one and only true Lord and Savior, god bless you all ❤️

mark...you are right...there's a verse in the Bible but I don't know where it is but basically it says when you're giving...don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing and if you give in the hopes that others will see you will get your earthly reward but it's better to give in secret because your Heavenly Father who sees in secret will reward you....I hope I got it right I was paraphrasing but that's the gist of it....Have a great day :-) :-)!!

Quoting out of context passages isn't a good argument. You are correct that is what part of the passage says! If you read the above it clearly states the reasoning. You actually quoted the entire passage in context and you still don't understand it. For what reason would Jesus condemn giving to people in public? Where is the logic in that? "Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people" Why? "IN ORDER TO BE SEEN BY THEM." "Thus, when you give to the needy, SOUND NO TRUMPET BEFORE YOU, as the HYPOCRITES do in the synagogues and in the streets, THAT THEY MAY BE PRAISED BY OTHERS." Who are these hypocrites? They are the ones who give in public. Why do they give in public? So that they can boast over their good deeds and "THAT THEY MAY BE PRAISED BY OTHERS." Jesus isn't attacking people who give in public, he is attacking people who give with fake sincerity. They don't give out of compassion. They only give to look good in front of others. He is attacking the "holier- than-thou" mentality. "Look how good I am! giving away large sums of money! I'm such a nice person!" He is using a hyperbole (as he often does throughout the Gospels) to further explain the point. If we take your poor interpretation we could argue that a wealthy man could not give to a homeless man standing on the street corner. Why? Because, it's in a public place and not in a secret place.

My understanding of the passage is that it is obviously perfectly alright to give in public, as Jesus would want us to do, giving is giving whether in private or public, however i feel the difference being that to give in public while yelling ''hey look at me I'm giving'' is what the passage relates to. No difference really than setting up a camera to record the event. I can understand you're reasoning ''so as to inspire other's'' but I'm afraid in this instance where the event is recorded and posted to the internet I must politely disagree. Dear people you must learn if you want to give someone something like a Tips or anything else you must keep it a secret don't film it to show everyone what you did because it is hypocrisy. Encouraged people to give without embarrassing the one that you gave to it. sorry for my English and thank you.

lody basha Finally. Was binge watching these videos and these guys are playing God. Its like porn. Videotaping something that's private and so pure (the taker's joy) and publicising it. I tip and go beyond the norm sometimes with large ones but never try to make a big fuss out if it. I tip, I smile and I get out. You guys are doing a good job but leave the place quiet. You're embarrassing her.

Your absolutely right, tipping is about appreciation towards the waitress and not about you pumping your chest to show how cool you are

I tried being nice today by telling small fishing mom n pop shop owner to keep the $10 change and told him Merry Christmas and happy new year and the guy gave me a free hat worth more than what I was leaving him..he got emotional and I completely defeated the purpose of helping a small shop out during these crazy times

It is good to study human behavour bit by bit on the receiving end. We could initially saw the girl appearance on serving the customer and eventually broke down to tears with that loot. We felt irritate on just how he give away cash or we irritate that it wasn't us....? It does pay isn't it...

We serve god indeed but the trumpet are blown so that other hooman could hear it and indulge. The deed that we've done only for us...god need nothing to be great.

So as an atheist if I gave a tip out of my generous good nature, where is the God element of this and why do these people need to be directed by a religious gathering to do this act in the first place, surely this should be human nature regardless of your believes and thus cannot be attributed to the believe in a God, the fact they needed to be guided by their belief to do this is worrying, surely you do not need an invisible entity to tell you random acts of kindness and generosity are morally a good thing.

Christianese is just a language that requires a little interpretation: "God Reveals His Love To This Waitress Through This Random Act Of Generosity" in plain English means "Megachurch Member Pays for Good Deed as Opportunity to Evangelize in Restaurant and on KZread." Jesus, on the other hand, went around doing good for its own sake which people would naturally notice and be grateful to their Creator for. Giving was supposed to be something done secretly, not for the purpose of others noticing, or else we already have our reward in full. Right? Hmmm...

I'm not rich but I love to give money to people in need. It really doesn't take much to see the smiles on people's faces when they get a helping hand. In today's society, not too many people carry cash on them anymore. I always try to have some cash on my person, just in case. 😊

Let me tell you how I earned my first 10 million dollars before turning into 30 years old. I had a part time job when I was a student in college. I spent less than 5 dollars for every meal. I looked for the job before I graduated, and go to work immediately after graduation. You have no idea how happy I was when I got the pay check of the first month. After 3 years I've made $30K , then my dad gave me $10 million as a gift at my birthday. That's all.

Google Ads reimbursed the guy's money back, and even earned a profit. Why drag God into this thing?

with all due respect, what you did was kind. but the deed could still have been done without being filmed. People dont need to be inspired by others to give if its written in the word of God. The only thing that gets inspired here is to go out and film yourself doing the same deed as it gets high recognition, and we see an abundance of people with channels dedicated to doing this exact thing and they dont stand for Jesus at all. its rooted in pride. Remember Jesus said.“Beware of practising your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Beside that i still like to see people blessed, and God bless you for doing so. But i just strongly believe what the bible says about it. its so counter-culture to do these things in secret, because the giver wants to be noticed giving, and wants recognition for the deed. If you truly wanted to bless her, for nothing but a blessing to her. Why film it? is all im saying. This is just a concern from one follower of Christ to another. Just a friendly exhortation. Why film it? So others can see the love of Christ in action, maybe those outside the faith looking in will want to know who and why this was done thereby opening a doorway to their hearts that was closed before. So perhaps rather than being so quick to judge based on what your mind thinks,you should judge based on what your heart see.

Random acts of kindness are othing to do with a so called deity. They are done by good people Religion just hijacks these deeds.

What rich guy? Their entire congregation took up a collection and decided to give it to someone instead of it going to the church. They filmed it for the rest of the congregation who couldn’t be there and uploaded it in hopes of inspiring others. Are you really as dumb as you make yourself sound?

Humanity is a reflection of God love you sir you are a great man

Love is free, and so is sharing what you have that many others may not. Homeless doesn't have a set image, but these vids give hope. Thank you all who do this. Sometimes I wish I would get a break, but then I pray and remember I did because He lives. Some people around this world really need angels like this everyday. Make America better by doing this for someone in a neighborhood near you. You just might be entertaining an angel. Xoxo
