I couldn’t agree more , yes we have to steer away from short term gratification things and focus instead about our education relationships and learning new skill, for me I started being minimalist two years ago and I am extremely satisfied and I am investing on myself to learn English language. What a beautiful reminder to review whats important. You are living a dream life for me - since I am still in the routine of working the 9-5.. altho I did change it to work from home permanently and I am super grateful for that. I visited Portugal in November and watching this video brought back so many memories of that beautiful trip. One profound takeaway - which I will remember is to review my purchase before I make it.. by asking myself is this the life I want to be living. Thank you for this impactful video. Much appreciated.

I find your content so relaxing thanks for sharing❤. The thing is I am the complete opposite of a minimalist I am a shabby chic maximalist when it comes to my decor. My home is full of treasures that create happy memories and a warm cosy space. I could never not have a Christmas tree but then again I had 14 Christmas trees😅. My home still has space and feels light and bright even though it's full of many treasures and is small. I find joy in sourcing pieces of pretty decor that bring joy to my life but I don't spend much money doing so. We also have a caravan called Dolly and a self build camper my husband did called Bluebell so we love traveling in those to bring joy to our souls. I also live by the beach so don't have far to go to relax and unwind. I guess everyone is different and that's what makes our world so interesting. Xx

Just what I needed! I never owned a Christmas tree since I live alone, travel often and don't want extra stuff... I rather enjoy seeing trees in nature. I felt a little sad seeing everyone with Christmas decorations on social media and felt lonely since I'm not living in Hawaii anymore I'm far from family and friends. So thank you for this! (I went to Portugal in September and loved it, I had my first meal at Time Out!) Happy 2022 2023!

Your calm demeanor and down to earth explanations on minimalism are inviting and easy to understand why for me, this is the way I want to be going...slowly but surely. Hi, my family of 3 shifted to the beautiful coastal state of Goa in India from a fast paced big city and seeing so many christmas trees I too wanted to buy one but refrained...i thought why not admire all the wonderful trees here on display everywhere instead of buying one. Goa was a Portuguese colony till 1962...

I would like to explain the christmas tree tradition. In cold countrys (snow, rain, cold wind) people got lung infections in winter. The tree has ethericsl oil that heals that and helps with the bad air in the home. like coughin the viruses out or the smoke from the fire place made the air dry and full of viruses. The tree helped people to breath basically. It cleaned the air in the sheds.

I love your videos. They provide me a moment of calm that I follow with my own moments of self-reflection. I really resonated with the comment about enjoying something without having to own it. That is my resolution for this year. Oh good, I am not the only minimalist who doesn't buy a tree. It truly saves me money each year (and space from storage of ornaments) to not get one but I don't tell people I don't get one. I love how you went to look at other trees to admire instead. That is so beautiful!! I hope you enjoy your sailing lessons!!
