I have the 2021 Oasi 540 Right hand drive version for New Zealand. It has actually exceeded expectations. The finish looks good in the videos but in real like is actually better .We have so much space, storage and the bed is super comfortable. In the summer we open the top vent just a little to let some fresh air in - screened of course. Nobody has mentioned the turning circle - 11.4m which is just amazing- same as a car.We have the diesel Truma heater and can set the temperature to whatever we like - very toasty for the winter. The cassette toilet works really well. It was more expensive than larger models but totally worth it because we can park in any carpark anywhere. Totally recommend this camper. We have the Wingamm grin!

So glad to hear from someone that actually has this vehicle and loves it. I can't imagine not enjoying this. What about the black water tank?

  • @theblackandwhitefilmproject

@@DDDDDDD34 Not as difficult as you would think. It is all contained in the cassette. Most of our larger camping grounds have a dedicated dump station for both the cassette black waste and also for the grey water. There are also public dump stations.I usually give the cassette a couple of rinses to get everything out . If we were totally off grid with 2 of us it would take about 4 days to fill the cassette. In a camp we can use their toilets as well. In NZ we are not allowed to dump down a public toilet which is fair enough. No way of washing the area if there is any spillage. Maybe in the US there are not dump stations as often so their suggestion of an extra cassette stored in the bumper would work. I joke with my wife that the dump stations are not gender diverse- it seems to be just men that are emptying the cassettes! It is now winter in NZ and we are off to the snow for a week - love this van.

Hi. I haven't been able to find anyone who owns one of these. You're the first. Do you know of any ' wingamm forum ' anywhere out there ? I do have specific questions about this rv. There's a part of me that doesn't want to give up on this vehicle in spite of the flaws I witnessed. I just need more infos. Price is the biggest setback. Also, do not assume that people who buy this rv will only use it on the weekends. Our plan is to actually move in and travel all over the country during all four seasons. Hence, my previous comments. I know there are bigger rvs, cheaper too. But honestly, US made rvs truly puzzle me. The affordable ones are cheaply built, very little attention to details, unreliable, have all sorts of issues, breakdowns, poor gas mileage. You need to spend a lot to get quality. We want a home on wheels that just keeps going and going and can trust. So far nothing. Thanks for your input. Keep sharing as much as you can, it definitely will help.

@@jeffpero You're welcome. It really is a 2 person van. We has 6 weeks in the van and it was no trouble. The cab is a Fiat Ducato- I think they call it a Dodge in US but it is the same vehicle. In Europe the highest % of campers are the Ducato because they are the the most reliable. Certainly not VW. What is really nice is that the bed does not have to be made and remade every day. We have the seats totally clear all the time so it is pleasant to relax. We also have a wireless modem and both hook our computers with headphones to give each other space. No TV ( laptop is fine). We placed a 200W solar panel on the roof. This means the house battery is always getting charged so off grid we can last for a few days without connected power. I had to swallow hard over the price. We had hired a 7m van and found it unwieldy . Super hard to park. We did look at a lot of cheaper options but most poorly designed. We have tried to keep pots etc to a minimum . Long term travel with this van is certainly doable. The heating on thermostat means we could stay in the snow. We didn't get Air Con but in NZ it doesn't get that hot and very windy. Good luck with your choice!

As an Italian, I never really understood the need for huge Class A motorhomes, unless you have a large family. This is all you may need and on a Ram promaster chassis is going to have some good engine options aswell with a bit more horsepower than the multijet diesel. It would be so cool to see it on the Iveco Daily 4x4 chassis.

Almost perfect little rv. Last summer I discovered this Italian gem. I put my name on a waiting list and did a ton of research on this model. That was before Wingamm listed their final asking price of $145,000. I do like their model quite a bit. It looks almost perfect for two people. Except for a few things. The closet space is simply too small for two. The curvy counter areas take away usable space. There really isn't a logical need for those curves. The L shaped couch with the lagoon table is too much of a hassle. We don't plan on having six people eating there, ever. We would prefer a booth dinette instead, that way we can look at each other. And there's got to be an oven. A must. No microwave. I do believe Wingamm allows customization. For a price. Each model is built to order. But the asking price put us off. The exact same Oasi 540 in Europe sells for $75,000. Even with shipping fees/ insurance/tax/covid etc, we can't comprehend the final asking price. Sorry Wingamm. Driving this cute little thing all over California would be a blast. But not at that price. If it was absolutely perfect we would consider it. But it isn't. So we'll wait. Hopefully U.S. manufacturers will catch on and build something similar but affordable to regular folks.

Why is this so hard to understand.

They do sell out insanely fast. In Europe those RV's have 4 cilinder diesel engines from FIAT, those engines are amazing and they never brake, they go easily 400.000KM without any problems. The gas engines tho are a different story. But the idea of putting it on a Toyota doesnt work bc they are designed for those fiat vans bc in Europe ppl would not buy a Toyota or Honda and that is still the biggest marked for them

I want to see something like that but on a 4x4 Sprinter. I have seen some pics from Europe and they have these off road vans with the monocoque chassis which give you more room and better insulation. In the RV world (at least in America), it's usually the opposite: the smaller the RV, the more it costs. You can get a really nice fifth wheel or travel trailer for $70k MSRP but $70k is the end sales price of the cheapest entry level Class B (MSRP usually 15-30% higher) and Class B's certainly go well over the $200k mark. My feeling is this unit at $140k MSRP will sell like hotcakes due to the innovation and space usage that American RVs just don't have.
