She has worked so hard to have what she has. She suffered greatly early in her career. Bad men, discrimination on and on! But she has done it. She's a joy to listen to any music makes my day better. And, those legs! My wife, who was very lovely as well was jealous Tina's legs. Just a great woman! The world is better for her! Being in it!

@Mary Lane So this show-biz medical help and enhancement should give justification for Ike's wife beating bizarre domestic violence? All of you on this thread defending this social loser must be Black Republican Men wearing of all things....white wife beater shirts. There is no justifying treating another person with violence and verbal assault and thank God we've now got laws in place and they're called HATE CRIMES. Any derogatory racial, sexual, gender etc. statements are currently defined as HATE CRIMES. Any one who even used that old nasty N-Word is now guilty of a Hate crime. Rightfully so, trying to justify a man's violent dominance over another or a woman is the definition of a social loser and so it is and shall be.

She's absolutely right. Tina Turner was a Megastar all over mainland Europe in the 80s and 90s. I still remember her songs getting constant airplay on german radio in the 90s and she basically existed on the popularity level of a Michael Jackson when she performed live. There were also a myriad of remixes and covers of her songs that inspired younger generations.

I'm as American as they come. But when I was in the military, I was stationed in England for six years. The difference between each country is night and day. England, and Europe as a whole, treat people they love very differently than they do here in America. Tina made a good move when she moved to Switzerland and eventually became a Swiss citizen. They love her and keep on loving her years after she stopped making music. She seems to be a very, very logical person. Much respect to her...

@@littlehoney6007 Ike didn't reach her how to become a lady. He taught her how to be a star. Tina became a lady all on her own. Also, she is not in love with Ike anymore. I don't know why so many people want to believe she still has a thing for him. She left him and moved on with her life. Ike was and is the past for her.

She's so big here in Brazil and South America. North America don't give the deserved value to legends like her since they no longer have more number #1 hits. The world outside America will always love and know about this legend forever.

Agree. I love in the U.S. and I hate the treatment our country gives to some of the legends. If they're no longer on the radar or have number hits, then they don't care for them too much. Its the same with actors and actresses. They only concentrate on the up incoming instead giving the attention the veteran actors. One of the reasons why I don't blame Tina for moving to Europe.

The truth is she turned her back on black America. She found herself a white man, Got a white band Has all white idols And moved to one of the whitest countries on the planet But.... we turned our back on her lol. You know Tina We know Annie Mae

.Raised Baptist, Turner embraced Buddhism whole-heartedly in middle age and said its teachings changed her life. “I came to understand that any achievement stems from inner change and only you have the power to realize and change,” she told Harvard Business Review. “The more I studied Buddhist principles, the deeper I dug within myself and cleaned up whatever attitudes or habits were standing in my way.” Simply the best ~ better than all the rest "

I think that America didn't understand Tina. I love all music, I love a song that explains a story. I love it when a singer can dance and entertain while singing. She is desperately sick now and it's sad because she was a healthy woman who was abused both physically and mentally. She worked her A** off night and day and in her younger years she was abused. And then sickness moved in through her gift and Ike's habitual habits(Drugs). My prayers go out to her, her sons and dear husband Erwin BACH. Love you Tina Turner aka Anna Mae Bullock.

She's right. The fact that she only got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist last year is disgusting. And she only got the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. I guess the American music industry snub her because she left and surpassed Ike, and they resent her for that.

Were you scared of him, they usually threaten to kill those who leave them... or had you been so beaten down that you felt you couldn't survive without him, cuz he convinced you no one else would want you, and your ugly and stupid and all the usual stuff that an abuser does, stripping any belief in yourself and all ur confidence...? I'm curious if there is another reason why a woman would tolerate it and 20 yrs is a lifetime.

I have had the privilege of personally meeting her in Minneapolis when she performed at First Avenue for her come back tour. She was, down to earth and very kind. She also gave me a poster for the tour, a signed 8x10, a T-shirt, and a kiss! During the show that night, she saw me standing next to the stage and I gave her the white bandana I was wearing. She carried it around with her for a few minutes and wiped off her sweat. She then gave it back to me. It's a treasure and I have never washed it. Thank you for a night I will never forget Tina!
