Tina Turner Never Doubted That She'd Be a Superstar (1997)

Ойын-сауық

Tina Turner was destined for superstardom. Access Hollywood sat down with the late music icon in 1997 for an in-depth discussion about her life and legacy, and she discussed launching her solo career after leaving ex-husband Ike Turner and how she never wavered in her goals even during her lowest points. "I knew I would work again. I must say, I just wanted to be as big as, let's say, the superstars that's filling the stadiums and et cetera, and I had kind of put it on hold because I was trying to actually take care of my life," she said. "And then, when I decided to go back to work, that was the focus. I want to play stadiums. I want to fill stadiums. I never doubted myself because I've been performing long enough to know that I'm good at that. That's all I've ever done."

The main reasons she looked so good is because she never indulged in smoking, drinking, drugs & gluttony. She also said she maintained a pattern of proper rest. Having a healthy relationship with a much younger man helped too, I'm sure.

@@TheBrownIsland if meditation & mindfulness alleviates stress, I'm baffled by why she suffered from high pretention most of her adult life. Though stress isn't exclusive to causing high pretention, it does contribute to it greatly.

When you consider what she suffered for all those years and to have the determination to create a career that she wanted? It’s amazing, rising to the heights of stardom and never losing track of who she was…Tina gave us so much, and I hope she went gently into her new life. I think of Erwin so often, rattling around that mansion without her, surrounded by all her beautiful things that she loved.

This magnificent, massively talented, highly intelligent woman and music icon was always so gracious in interviews. How many times she's been asked the same predictable questions by journalists. But she responds with with truth and integrity - and always a warm smile on her face. I love that Tina Turner was a 'girls girl', who loved and appreciated other women and never saw them as rivals. Of course she was a superstar and had nothing to prove. But from her earliest days with the glamorous Ikettes, to her big, stadium tours as a solo superstar in her 40s and 50s, she chose to surround herself with gorgeous females onstage. She knew her worth and knew surrounding yourself with excellence doesn't diminish you - it makes your star shine brighter! One of the British, much younger dancers who toured with Tina, wrote such a beautiful tribute to her on her death. That women as well as men adored Tina Turner, shows just what a class act and a big-hearted human being she was. I'm so glad she found true love and happy ever after in her mid-40s, and got to retire and enjoy her last years with her lovely husband in tranquil Switzerland. What a stunning couple they were, as they happily strolled around the town together arm in arm. Rest in blissful peace dear Tina - Simply the Best!

And you watch the U.K and Europe interviews from the 90’s/00’s and they would never ask about Ike - they were just overwhelmed to be in her presence and talked about her life NOW and utilised the fact she was till a MASSIVE star here, not like an old has been singer like people viewed Diana Ross or Aretha - she was still very relevant in our popular culture and her tours here were immense! I can’t believe she held her composure with that interviewer…. We accepted Tina, we were never really interested in Ike because they weren’t particularly famous here. I’d never heard of him till the film came out in 1993. Us 80’s/90’s kids just knew Tina!!!

7:40 In her process of abuse, she learned what would make her free forever. When Ike didn't go on tour with her, she learned that she only needed a set of musicians and a manager. Because she knew she would make it. That's beautiful. Never throw out the lessons that you learn on your journey. They will be useful for your future. Yes, you may have to pay a big price for each one of them. But it would be worthy. You just get to see it with a positive eye.

Tina is very honest person. She corrects mis conception about her life story. She was an example of positivity, resilience, not thinking bad about other people and a beacon of hope in life. We lost a good person in the world. I am pretty sure she will be in the spirit world singing like angels and spreading her talent and goodness awaiting her time to be resurrected and then meet.our Father in Heaven. I thank you for you contributions to the world and I love you. God be with you and hope to meet with you in another life.

I don’t know how many times she could have said, “I am tired of talking about Ike.” Why the media kept harassing her with those questions is beyond me.

She made a whole movie and wrote a book detailing her relationship with Ike. Even after all that, her documentary just a few years ago detailed her relationship with Ike. You can’t do all that and expect not to be asked questions about it.

It cannot be the other way around. Tina was older than Whitney. Her voice, tone, and cadence developed before Whitney was even born.

Gotta have my Tina Turner playlist every 24/7 Private Dancer album really introduced me to Tina in 1984 cause I wasn't around the Ike and Tina days. She has such a great singing voice that's powerful, strong, wild and rough, her manager Roger Davies gets her to sign at Capitol Records in order to record the Private Dancer album just in two weeks followed by Break Every Rule, a live album, Foreign Affair and a compilation album of singles. Then in 1993 she signed with Virgin to complete the What's Love Got to Do With It soundtrack album based on its film about her life story starring Angela Bassett also in 1996 came the release of Wildest Dreams and then finally Twenty Four Seven in 1999.Meanwhile she went back to Capitol for All the Best, Tina! and Greatest Hits compilation albums that included three new songs Tina was and always will be "simply the best" RIP Tina 💿🙏🏽🎶🎤

It’s nice to see and hear an entertainment reporter offer a shred of depth. Look, it’s entertainment tv, we’re not expecting an analysis of Einstein’ as theories, but usually these interviews are hopelessly vapid. This one offers something more.

Because of her loyalty that's why she took so long to commit again in her life because of the let down being committed. She gave of herself unselfishly as to Erwin who comfortably engaged with the power of 💕 love and God 🙏 as happiness was the reward with being in an unconditional moment!!

Her last interview, book and documentary she talked about Ike. As much as people want to believe that she did, I don't believe that Tina ever got over Ike.

Its typical fir America to hold on to past people even after 50 years even when people have died you still see them on magazines covers. Her marriage was long over for decades and people in America still talk about it. Tina has lived a happy live with the love of her live for 37 years and has had a very successful career too. Her dream came true in every way she had wished for. And Americans love to talk about Tinas past in the comments. As she said herself it was the past, it was done. But still people hold tight to it. And she had given up her American Citizenship to become a Swiss citizen and was happy with it.
