My first watch was a Timex back in the early 60’s which I still own. Mechanical watch and it still works, hence Takes and licking and keeps on Ticking.

I had a couple handwinding ones back in the day. Wish I still had them. Have a 1974 Viscount automatic that needs a little TLC. Great watches. Take care Chris 😊

I have one of these with the yellow second hand and green canvas strap. For the money they are great and can't go wrong. Probably giving years of faultles service. Okay the case is a base metal with a coating, the second hand bounces and the tick is loud for some, no screw crown, glass crystal, basically it's old technology but it worked perfectly back in the day as it does now!! I really enjoy mine to the point I wear it constantly over my 17 year old MWC!!

Personally, I think they are must have pieces for those of us collectors interested in their $35 to $100 value oriented watches, still by an American company. I have this Expedition Scout, and a Weekender Chrono like yours as well. There are in my rotation.

Again, spot on for a nice everyday wearable time peace. I own both the vanilla and black dials. My black expedition with a a charcoal case has a yellow second hand that just pops against the black. I wear it on am old school wide German Fluco strap and receive many nice complements.

...had a wall clock that you could hear the seconds of your life click off if the room was quiet. I think I miss it..I think I found my excuse to buy a Timex.

Great piece I got it for my brother as a christmas present he loves it, but it ticks very loud though like being able to hear it across a room loud 😮

They make some great beaters they obviously have quality control issues sec hands tend to wiggle but they are inexpensive and there making better looking watches too

i normally use solar powered watches but i bought the normal battery powered version of the expedition scout because Timex solar powered watches are totally not as reliable as the Japanese brands. It is a pretty and well sized watch. I absolutely love it. It is very noisy though.

Great watch for the price. Timex has a lot of cool stuff out there. Nice vid Aron:)

Only issue it's 50m water resistant great for beater watch

I just got my first one, with an off-white face. Interested in getting the others for variety in the collection. Really like them for everyday use.

My first was a Timex back in 65 or 67 I forget now but ?I still have it and it works, just needs a battery. I was 15 or so then. I looked if Timex made anything with a Power Reserve meter and a Date but nope. Next best thing is the Orient but most are sold out. Wondering if the power reserve meter is that hard to put into a watch but sure seem to be way over priced if they have that simple complication. Or it would appear to me to be simple, maybe I am wrong. To bad Timex don’t do something lil more exciting.

Joe G Hey Joe! Check out the website. Pretty neat stuff over there. Power reserve is generally reserved for automatic. It would be great to see Timex getting back into mechanical. The Marlin reissue is,a bright glimmer of hope!! You mentioned Orient. One of my favorites is the Defender that they just brought back into the line. Very cool field watch!! Hopefully get one on the channel soon 😉

With all due respect, good sir, I think you should've mentioned any negatives you might have about that watch. I've been looking for an affordable beater watch for work and was quite attracted by the aesthetics but have gotten a lot of input on how loud the ticking is on Timex watches. Any negatives about that watch that you have personally? I don't like the mere 50m WR and lack of a proper stainless steel case. But I've heard it's a good watch for the money.

Only the back is steel. The case is brass. There is another, rarer edition, called Allied, which uses an all-stainless steel case. It looks almost identical to this Expedition model, but the dial only says Timex, instead of Timex Expedition. I have the same watch but the back and clasp just say Timex. I bought it at Target and everything.

for some reason my lume does not work for the hands

Love the look of these but read the crowns have a tendency to pop off with very little use. Be interested to know how this one holds up for you

We need a government that would encourage companies like Timex to return to the UK.

This has sapphire crystal and Swiss Quartz, Seiko has mineral crystal and Japanese automatic movement. This will serve you more years, keeping accurate time, without servicing of the movement. The Seiko would no be worth servicing after 10years, this will be on its 2nd or 3rd battery. Cheers

I wonder if Timex considers this a "feature" but it really annoys me - otherwise a decent affordable watch. I've had some IQ Timex and they still tick audibly but at least you can't hear it clear across the room lol

I have one. It is really loud. The ticking sound emanate mainly from the case back. If you are wearing it, your arm kinda mute it, you can't hear it as much as you leave it on the table...
