Tiger Woods | PGA TOUR Originals: Tiger Tales

Спорт

Everyone loves a good golf story, especially when it’s about one of the game’s legends. Watch as PGA TOUR players share their best stories about 82-time winner Tiger Woods. Tiger Tales uses video and animation to tell new and illuminating stories about Tiger’s incredible impact on golf.
The show’s eight chapters explore the relationships and legacy Tiger has fostered throughout the world of golf in the past two decades. Among the topics covered are Tiger’s relationship with his fellow players, his pursuit of his record-breaking 83rd PGA TOUR victory, the legacy of his TGR Foundation and his long-lasting contributions to the game.
You’ll hear Justin Thomas talk about playing home run derby with Woods and his son, Charlie, in their living room, Tiger talk about the first time he beat his father and the time Billy Horschel took a spill trying to impress Tiger in the PGA TOUR fitness trailer.
These light-hearted stories hope to shed a new light on the player who has dominated PGA TOUR telecasts for the past two decades.

Or if you want to put numbers into it Tiger now has 82 pga tour wins, more than Jack's; and also Tiger has the biggest crowds in sports history as for one man; and also he has earned more than any other player ever. Does these facts make Tiger better than Jack? no, it doesn't. And even if Tiger wins 18 majors it just won't make him the GOAT because again, they played in different times

My dad was a sports writer for the Fort Worth Star Telegram for 40 years (he's now retired). So I've been fortunate enough to be able to get close to many of the greatest people in sports. In 1993 I got to spend the weekend with Nolan Ryan and his family at his hunting cabin. I've met Jerry Jones, Aikman, Irvin, Sanders, The Moose, Emmit.....etc One year my dad was working the Byron Nelson golf tournament. He spent Friday and Saturday out there, but he didn't plan on being out there on the final day. So he let me go instead, and I got to use his press pass so I could get better parking and actually get closer to all the action on each hole where the press people were at. And as luck would have it, Tiger Woods was leading that whole tournament and naturally he won in the end. I believe that was the last time Tiger played the Byron Nelson I think. Getting to stand right there only a few feet from Tiger as he would drive the ball is one of those things you won't ever forget. It was so damn impressive.

After so much time since his peak years you almost forget how astounding his accomplishments are... 3 wins in first 9 tries as a pro, 8 wins in one year followed by 8 wins the next year, over 20% winning percentage... insane. the story that Justin Thomas tells about "home run derby" is great. It makes me want to become the "Kato" of that household. No rules, just fun all day long. If you can dream it, we can do it. I love to imagine the crazy things we could get up to! It must be tough for Tigers ex wife, having to compete with Tiger wonka can't be easy.

This was great!! But I’ve been a huge fan since his first US Amateur win. I’m 63 and for me, I grew up watching Michael Jordan it seems like every time he was on TV, you always knew something great or spectacular could happen, And I still watch Tiger thinking the same thing.

It's those lesser known tournaments like the Buick that he won with such ease that I remember and miss. Brought a lot of joy to the mundane high school days. If I were ever paired with him I'd have to break the ice by asking how many strokes he needs and how much are we playing for lol.

The saying goes in society never meet your heroes, they always end up disappointing you in some way. Apparently not with tiger woods and that's beautiful to know that all heroes of ours aren't viewed negatively after meeting them. I'm just so happy about his comeback story, and just hearing everyone feel the way that I felt about it. This is a nice video.
